I couldn't recommend this place more. They've taught both my boys how to swim. It's always clean. They keep the pool warm.

Little One's Swim is an awesome place to have your kids learn to swim. My son has been coming for over a month and he likes going to his swim lessons. They're equipped to do different activities for different levels. They even have a smaller kiddie pool so kids can splash before or after class. The swim instructors are all great! They love kids and the try to have fun with them while also pushing them to learn which I really appreciate since my son can be cautious and hesitant. One tiny con is parking since they don't have a lot of space but I've never had an issue finding a spot close by. read more

That's the sound we hear every time our son finishes a swim lesson at Little Ones Swim. If helping children to learn new skills while also having fun were an Olympic sport, Little Ones would definitely get the gold. Miss Margie and her team of instructors are fantastic. They have an incredible depth of knowledge and experience serving the Reno-Tahoe area. It shows every time our son gets into the pool to learn. First, they are safety oriented. Children are monitored closely in the facility at all times by multiple staff members. Also, one of the first lessons new students learn is how to self-rescue. Second, they are personable and professional. Classes are well organized, they always start on time, and scheduling is a cinch with their online program. The facility is clean and quality of instruction is also reasonably priced. Third, they are child-centered. Each student receives coaching and mentorship that is specific to their individual learning needs. I especially appreciate the personal feedback we get after every class on how our son is progressing towards his goals. Fourth, they inspire confidence through fun. The instructors love what they do and they seem to be having as much fun as their students. Last week, when our kiddo swam across the pool by himself for the first time, I don't know whose smile was bigger--little guy's or that of his instructor, Miss Angela. Wow i just said Yay! out loud because I get to be the First to Review this amazing Swim School. Both my kids currently take lessons here, 2 & 8. We have been bringing them here for lessons for almost a year. The pool, facilities, grounds, instructors are all top notch. Both kids have made majors advancements in ability to swim, a must for our well traveled family. Our story: My stepson takes to people and water like well.....fish to water. "Bean" on the other hand loves water, doesn't love most people and has a very STRONG (with a capital S-T-R-O-N-G) personality. Needless to say these ladies have put up with us through the best of times and the worst of times and you never know what you'll get with the "Bean". They'll tell you some stories. We absolutely love Little One's Swim! We joined in June and prior to that, had our oldest in swim lessons at the Y in a different state. The improvements we have seen in his skill level since joining Little One's have been astronomical. He just turned 3 and is actually swimming now. Miss Jennifer teaches both his class and his baby brother's, and she is incredible! She's extremely knowledgeable, patient, and great with the kids. She really knows how to make them feel safe and supported while challenging them to get to the next level. All of the other teachers and staff are fantastic as well. I had my first lesson with my infant daughter here today and I couldn't have been more impressed! My own little one is only three months old, so I was a little nervous about her getting in the water so young, but Margie and Jennifer couldn't have been any better. Sure, there were multiple classes going in the pool at once, but that posed no issue whatsoever. In the 30 minute class we took we received both individual and group instruction, and both myself and my baby had a great time. She was smiling the entire lesson and by the end was even happily floating on her back, which is not something she has ever done before. The establishment itself is clean, bright, and welcoming, and I especially love that they use UV to keep the pool clean instead of loading it up with chemicals that can be dangerous to babies. I also really like the way the curriculum teaches the babies important swim skills but just seems like one big, fun game. I didn't see one unhappy kiddo there, but I did see lots of babies exhibiting some impressive swim skills for their ages! Pay attention to the instructions online and be sure that you have something other than just a disposable swimming diaper since those don't really do much for way of protection. No one wants to be the one responsible for a code brown! I can't wait for my baby to be able to swim like a little mermaid and we both are looking forward to our weekly classes. They even have an amazing photographer on staff who takes just beautiful underwater pictures of the babies. Can't ask for any more than that! I had nothing but great experience at Little Ones Swim. We have been coming to classes for over six months. The teachers are wonderful, the classes are small, and the facility is clean. The big plus is you will be allowed to make up for classes you missed for various reasons. there was an issue with broken pipe lately, but the owner kept me informed, and arranged all make up classes. I took my 3 year old to a single private lesson today because we are going on a cruise and just wanted to get some tips on how to teach your toddler to swim. It was a great experience and my daughter had a great time. I only wish they would have told me to bring a swim diaper even though she was potty trained. I had to buy a bottom for ten extra dollars. But overall it was worth the money and the teacher was great. read more

We have been taking out two children to this facility for over year. Our children love it. The pool and dressing rooms are clean, the staff is knowledgeable, and there is even a baby pool that kids can play in while they are waiting for their lessons to begin. They keep the class moving and are constantly moving foward. I have done classes at the City of Reno pool and saw them at a private club. This is by far the best I have seen. Very positive place. I love love love this place. My daughter loves swimming here it is the highlight of our week. I started her at six months old and she swam underwater on the first day! The pool is always warm and the place is always clean. The instructors are great with the kids and really care about them. They make the lessons fun and for the most part my daughter becomes a stronger swimmer with each class. I feel like these classes are really really good for her. I also love that they teach pool saftey and teach the babies how to swim to the edge and hold on if they fall in. I also love that it's a family run business. This place is a gem!!! read more

My 4 yr. old grandson came to visit for 2 weeks and I was desperate to find swimming lessons for him. Margie called me back right away after my inquiry and they created the perfect offering for me. While that was wonderful, we also got teacher, Angela (aka "angel"). My grandson had great fears and it was difficult the first couple of days; however, Angela knew just what to say and do to gain his trust and make remarkable progress with him. The facility is well maintained, decorated perfectly for little ones, and is a welcoming environment. Our whole family feels blessed that we found this incredible swim school. My son just started swim lessons (the baby clinic) . The pool is heated to 92 degrees, which is lovely. The class was small and used songs to get the babies into the lesson. The instructor seem to keep an eye on each individual baby and made an effort not to push the babies past their capabilities. I had a chance to observe some older children in their lessons as well. No one was left at the side of the pool. All seemed engaged. My only compaint is that theif facilities are small and there is only one shower stall to use. Beyond that, this seems to be a fine swim school. So far, I would highly recommend it. read more

We love Little One's Swim! We have been to a couple of other places that have lessons and were not impressed. LOS has awesome swim coaches that work with each child's capabilities and encourages them to actually swim. My daughter (3 1/2 years old) has had 3 lessons there so far and has already started swimming on her own with her head under water. She loves her coach (Miss Jennifer) and isn't afraid of going like she was at the other facilities. Coming from a family of Junior Olympians in swimming and water polo, she has taken to the water well but is remarkably better with the help of Little One's Swim. I recommend them to everyone! Miss Margie really takes pride in her coaches and all of her "Little Ones". I appreciate the protective professional attitude she has and feel better knowing that my daughter is in great hands. I love the fact that they really push the students to face their fears ONLY IF they know they are ready to do so and don't coddle them. read more

Such a wonderful swim school for young children. I was visiting Reno, so I signed my 3 year old up for 3 private lessons. Margie was very responsive by email and so great to accommodate my unique request for short term private lessons. Megan was an excellent instructor. She was encouraging and motivating. My son was hesitant but she could motivate him to follow through. He got his head in the water on day 1 and by day 3 he almost got the hang of arms, legs and holding his breath underwater at the same time. The abundance of toys, colorful floaties, slides and wall murals make it easy for a child to get comfortable with the environment quickly. read more

We previously attended a swim school in Pacific Beach about a year ago. While attending a new swim school creates challenges adapting to the new environment has been easy. My 4.5 year old is progressing and enjoys her class very much. My 2 year old is in a very terrible stage of the terrible twos and the staff was willing to work with him. I, the parent, on the other hand found it too difficult. Margie, the owner, was very gracious in working out a solution for my 2 year old. I give LOS 5 stars for the way they handled a difficult situation with a stressed out customer. read more

So my experience from this disorganized business was nothing but negative. Although all of my friends take their kids to Silver Bear I wanted to explore the options of swim lessons in Reno. I called and spoke with Stacey on my initial phone call. She took down my information and availability. Not 2 hours later the owner Margie called and left me a message asking my information and availability. I felt like I was in the twilight zone because I had just given one of her employees this information. She gave a 2 hour window to reach her at the facility the next day. I am a working mother, so I was not able to reach her during this 2 hour window when I called back. Instead I spoke with someone else who after taking my information AGAIN! told me to come in on Thursday at 12:30 for a class with Krista. I pull into the parking lot around 1200 and no one is there. We had been talking about this for over a week and my son was so excited. I could see the pool from the parking lot so we got out and walked over to the gate and there is a little sign stating that a pipe broke in their office and they would be closed the entire week. A younger guy stopped in his beat up older buick like vehicle and said that he was "Lindsay's boyfriend" and that they were closed because of the pipe. Within an hour I got a call from the owner Margie who basically said that it was not her fault I wasn't notified because I had not registered online. NO ONE had told me to register online otherwise I would have! The last person I spoke with told me to come in for the class, thats it! Along with going on and on about there broken pipe in their office (did I mention that it did not effect the pool), I was so lucky that she found my phone number. In the middle of our conversation she starts having a conversation with someone else in the background. I asked her if she was talking to me!!!! I hung up without her noticing because she was having another discussion about the broken pipe. Once again I felt that she was wasting my time! Side note, I had rearranged my schedule to make the 12:30 class including missing work for it to only be closed!!!! She called me back and called me the incorrect name and started back on her rant about her broken pipe. At this point I told her that there are other swim lessons in town and that I was not going to allow her to waste my time any longer. Wow, can not believe that an establishment is ran so poorly. Maybe the lessons are wonderful and maybe the under water photos are great but I did not appreciate the way we were treated. Thank god for Yelp! Maybe I can save some other working parents some time and most importantly a disappointed child!! read more
