These swim lessons were a significant investment for our family, and over our last eight sessions, we experienced repeated cancellations, rescheduling, and poor communication--all due to changes on their end. At one point, we drove to our scheduled lesson only to find the building closed because no one had notified us it had been canceled. We were also moved from the day, time, and instructor we initially paid for, and had a last minute cancellation due to us only being the lesson for the day. Throughout it all, I remained patient, flexible, and understanding. However, the final scheduling issue for a makeup lesson from their cancellation was handled in a way that felt dismissive and disrespectful. After weeks of accommodating their changes, I simply requested a refund for our last lesson because I no longer felt comfortable continuing. Unfortunately, the owner, Holly, never responded or honored that request. At $72 for a 30-minute lesson, I believe families should be able to expect reliable communication and professional customer service. This review isn't about one cancellation--it's about a consistent pattern of poor communication and a lack of accountability. I hope this feedback encourages improvements so other families have a better experience.

It seems like getting kids into swim school in Reno is more difficult than getting our kids into Harvard. Some waitlists were over a year! Luckily we were able to get into British swim school without a waitlist! Thank goodness with the summer approaching.   The instructors were very knowledgeable, professional and great with kids. We as parents felt like we had some great skills to work on before the next class. Salvador was exceptional in his delivery, and we feel very confident in having him teach both our kids (older one is now a starfish and working towards separation from us in the water). Salvador was also the best swimmer I have ever seen in my life. I hope my kids can swim like him someday!   We were not aware of this hotel before attending class and it was extremely nice and well maintained on the inside. It has a chic atmosphere and a really nice pool. The pool area was surprisingly large and very well maintained. I also heard there is a speakeasy bar that's there. Maybe we will check that out sometime also. The staff there were super friendly and helpful and provide detailed instructions for parking in their onsite garage. I most likely will be recommending the Plaza Resort Club Hotel for my out of state family/friends when they visit.   I would highly recommend the British Swim School of Reno to anyone that I know. She landed on her head one of their customers found her went back inside and contacted management. David Jacobs the general manager came out and took care of my mom who had an obvious head injuries. He would not allow anyone to move her and called for an ambulance. I don't know if the outcome would've changed but what he did help protect my mother and I am so grateful and so is the rest of my family. The amenities inside are impressive: two water slides, a kiddie pool, two diving boards, a rock climbing wall over the water, and a competition pool. Outside, the setup is just as beautiful, featuring another competition pool and a large grassy area with several covered picnic spots. The lifeguards here are super friendly and excellent with little kids. One lifeguard at the rock wall even took the time to give my daughter and other kids tips on how to climb a bit higher. All of this comes at a very affordable price: $6 for kids and $7 for adults, which is an amazing deal for everything they offer. We visit the pool several times a year for our kids' swim meets. Our favorite events are the outdoor meets because the grassy area is perfect for setting up canopies and relaxing while cheering on the swimmers. Highly recommend Carson Valley Swim Center for families looking for fun, affordable, and well-maintained pool time!

Never really had an issue getting equipment despite the size of the facility. Only downside was, it would sometimes take a while for pieces of equipment to get fixed. I was happy that they froze memberships during the first part of covid. Once they reopened it took me a while to get back over to freeze my membership until I felt comfortable going back but it was easy enough. Once I got vaccinated I reinstated my membership and was happy to be back until I went during the week after work which is usually the start of their peak hours. I was sad to see about 80% of the guys were either wearing their mask under their chin or some straight up had them off and were walking around without a care. I saw one guy even talk to a desk worker and the kid said nothing to him about having his mask under his chin. I emailed them to inquire about their mask policy (because I know some will let you have it off) and no response. I know I shouldn't care since I'm vaccinated but when there's signs all over saying masks must be worn at all times, it shows me how "serious" they are taking it and it just shows the type of crowd this place draws in. I decided to cancel and go for a closer gym that's bigger with more perks and they are amazing at enforcing covid protocol. When I canceled at EF, I did ask about the mask policy and the desk worker said ppl are suppose to have masks on at all time. It's just too small of a gym to not enforce the masks especially because there tends to be a group of elderly clients that go there regularly. And they were able to get an extra monthly charge because of their 30 day cancellation policy despite me canceling a week after they charged me for the month . Oh well. It's not a bad gym but just not the place for me anymore.

I went in and cancelled it and proceeded with my move, they obviously never canceled my membership and have been charging me for years. I would call them over the phone and they would tell me there was nothing they could do unless I came in in person (which I couldn't because I lived hours away and worked full time). I changed my debit card just so they would stop charging me, they then sent me to collections and it has been accruing ever since. So because of their incompetence my credit score has been affected even though I cancelled in person before I moved and have tried countless times to revolve it over the phone with them. Never get a membership here unless you want to be paying the rest of your life for a membership even after you cancel with them.
