I used to LOVE this place. They USED to be very nice and respectful. But I just got into an argument with the delivery driver for the 5th time, it seems like. The last year or two, the delivery drivers have gotten so extremely rude. They beg for more tip in a very nasty way to the point where I just started picking up. I think even if someone doesn't tip, it's EXTREMELY unprofessional to beg for a tip and to not only that but complain and say the tip isn't enough even though I ordered ONE thing and my house is right there? Unbelievable. That was why I stopped ordering from them in MONTHS. I finally did again today and they have a minimum delivery ($15) but they have been delivering my $10 order for 3+ years. TODAY SPECIFICALLY, the OWNER took by order on the phone and did not say anything about the minimum and then again, the delivery driver has to rudely tell me "next time don't order food if it's not $15" like I'm sorry but if the OWNER of the restaurant didn't say not one word to me about ordering something else to meet the minimum, I don't think he should be opening his mouth to me being rude. If you don't want to do your job, don't. But don't take it out on me when again, the OWNER did not mention ANYTHING about a minimum. He also complained about the tip. Unprofessional. I ordered delivery last night. Having eaten Chinese in many different areas, in different states, I know what I like and I know what is the "norm" for Chinese food. My husband and I recently moved to the Mamaroneck area so I searched for Chinese food in the area. Since this had such good reviews and is open past 4pm (unlike most others around here) I put an order in. A large pork fried rice, a small chicken noodle soup, honey chicken wings and 2 Snapple teas. We got our food a little over 40 minutes later. No problem. We open the fried rice, I have never in my life seen "white" fried rice. The pork was ok but some was grisly, plus it had all the things we don't like and none of the things we do like. It had carrots, peas and egg in it. A good Chinese fried rice will have onion, bean sprouts and green onion in it. The honey chicken wings, well I expected caramelized semi sweet fried wings. None of the above and the wings must have been the smallest I have seen. The chicken soup, very bland, was not cooked in a chicken broth, and was all around unsatisfactory. What Chinese place doesn't have sweet tea or lemonade? This one. Will never order from here again. I am hoping the rest of the Chinese restaurants around here aren't as bad. read more

So glad to have finally found a chinese food place in the area that i like! I got the crispy orange beef, DELICIOUS. Non-greasy, perfect amount of spice. Also tried the sesame chicken and the chicken itself felt like good quality. The won-ton soup was a bit watery/oily but the wontons themselves were good! Do not under any circumstance order from this place. The wrong order is consistently taken and it's never right. Then when you call back to tell them about the mistake the girl tries to tell you that you didn't order whatever is missing or messed up. Which is twice as aggravating!!!! Confused about the negative reviews!! This is a Westchester hidden gem. I have been coming here for YEARS and am never disappointed. The food is fresh and so much less greasy than typical Chinese food, and the quality is great. Okay, I've been here 2 times so far..The food is really tasty and fresh! They have a nice selection of lunch specials in the 6.95 and 7.95 price range. The portions are nice and the place itself is very clean. So far I've had the Pad Thai(which I've never had before) and I enjoyed it alot! and a Beef Udon dish, the beef was a bit tough, but the sauce they used was delish! On my second trip in I decided to get the curry soup( which had a nice blend of hot/sweetness to it) and followed that with the Singapore Mai Fun(I asked if they could make it VERY spicy) it was tasty as well, I just would like it to have more of a spicy kick! Now..why only 4 stars instead of the 5...Dining in can feel like a bit of an inconvenience, I don't mind waiting, but feeling like they don't wanna notice you at the moment can be a bit ugh... I've only ever had take out from here, but it's always been good. I really like that they have caramelized onions in their soups. I love both the hot and sour and the seaweed tofu soup. The nice thing about Little Kitchen is that they use a lot of vegetables in their dishes. And I really like their fried rice which is a pleasant change from most Chinese places. I have done take out from this place many times and I have never been disappointed. I always order online to pick it up and I have never had any issues. My food is always ready quickly no matter when I have ordered. They have great combination platters for good prices. I usually get the chicken and broccoli and the crab Rangoon appetizer. Here are some tips: Order online, by phone is difficult. Pickup yourself as delivery is slooooow. Very inconsistent in terms of food quality. Some things good one time, next time not so much. The soups are always good. Recently I ordered 2 soups, one small, one was another kind in large size. I asked for a larger bag of crispy noodles for larger soup. The woman said "one size". I then asked for 3 bags of crispy noodles since the larger soup was multiserving. When I got home, I saw there were just 2 bags. If they give one bag for a pint of soup, they should give 2 bags for a quart. read more

I live in Mamaroneck, have tried all the chinese restaurants in town and came to the conclusion that Little Kitchen is the best. I have dinned here many times and have always been wowed by the fantastic flavor of every new dish I try here. The food isn't greasy like some chinese places. I have enjoyed the grilled chicken soup with wonton noodles, the dumplings, all the noodle dishes. The seafood is also very tasty and fresh with inventive sauces that I have not expected from a chinese place. Also, they have a great vegetarian section. The food is consistently fresh. Kung Pao chicken was spicy, but could've used some more heat. on the other hand, it had lots of water chestnuts, which I like, and it had plenty of chicken. also, instead of just throwing food onto your plate, they do some pretty sweet artistic presentations. cleaner than your average Chinese takeout and the food was not greasy like you find at random hole-in-the-wall takeout joints. for that, I'm swinging this up to 4 stars (3.5 is probably more accurate, to be honest). read more

I've tried them twice and never will try again. The staff is pretty rude too. Since moving to Westchester I have had a really hard time finding good Chinese food. You'd walk out the door and trip over another Asian takeout place. But enough about me, let's talk more about Little Kitchen. The food is amazing. When you call ahead, you can expect that in an average of 15 minutes, you can pick up some of the freshest tasting Asian takeout ever. Large cuts of fresh vegetables are the base for the typical Chinese dishes - chicken with garlic sauce, spicy shredded beef, etc - all piled with zucchini, mushroom, peppers, red onions, bamboo shoots, etc. You can taste the ingredients that make up the sauces - as in, they made it themselves, and didn't just crack open a bottle of overly thickened and overly sweetened imitation sauce and poor it over the dish. Which, sadly, is what most Chinese takeout consists of. My top picks - wonton soup, spicy shredded beef, general tso's chicken, and my favorite: grlled Asain chicken - thin grilled chicken in a light curry sauce over watercress. read more

I enjoy Little Kitchen for good quality Chinese takeout. My number 1 favorite thing about the dishes here is the fact that they incorporate TONS of fresh vegetables and have lots more variety than you normally get at a Chinese restaurant (onions, peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, string beans, asparagus, snap peas!). What I like: Their hot&sour soup is delicious- a variation of the original preparation but I really enjoy it! Their Pad Thai w/ shrimp is a hefty portion w/ lots of shrimp- I always get at least 2 meals out of it. My whole family also LOVES their Thai Style Curry Chicken and Shrimp dish... it's a little more expensive cause it's on the Chef Selection portion of the menu but it's so so good and totally worth it. I need to expand my palate and try some other dishes that other yelpers have highlighted as being good... I agree with other reviewers that their fried rice isn't really fried rice, but for me, that's a small price to pay for good portions and good prices and fresh veggies! Drove into town to find dinner after a day at Rye Playland. 2 families of four, with a total of four kids aged 3-6. Nice atmosphere and there was room for 8, so in we went. We ordered a little of this and a little of that, and everything came out promptly but not too promptly. Some highlights: the wonton soup had light, lovely dumplings - not too much dough. Green beans in garlic sauce were spicy and flavorful. Beef with basil was bold and robust with flavor. General Tso's (yes, we ordered this American favorite) was wonderful. We live within walking distance and we a now regulars. The food is not standard Chinese food, but is fresh and tasty. The wonton soup is made with very thin wonton noodles making this a light soup.
