I know better from experience that you don't just show up to a chinese takeout joint without looking at reviews first, or you pay the price of terrible food. Chose this place based on the reviews and I needed a place that seemed it could deliver decent general tso's chicken and fried dumplings for my kids. It checked all the boxes. Tso's is a tiny bit spicy if you are used to zero spicy. Dumplings were on the smaller side, but less doughy in a good way and tasty. They give a lot of chicken with the combo meal. Basically split the food with a 7 and 8 year old. 3 hour metered parking on the street. They have 2 tables to dine in and steady stream of people walked in for take out - a good sign. read more

Hands down the best Chinese food place in Portchester and western Greenwich. This restaurant for starts has never given me the wrong order or forgotten items. That alone deserves 5 stars. I ordered the beef and broccoli combo and it was 10/10 (the best go to) we also got fried wonton soup which was perfect and some of the best egg rolls ever! Not soggy and perfectly crispy! If you order and do pick up, depending on the time of day you might want to have a pick up buddy who will run in and pick it up for you as parking on Main Street can be quite difficult depending on the time of the day! Came here to update my review. Previously, I did say that their food is really good and their restaurant is clean and the workers are nice. All of that still holds true. However, this is the second time I ordered from them and the second time that there has been HAIR IN MY FOOD. I've just started coming to China House recently, last 2-3 months. And I have to say: it never disappoints (at least it hasn't yet). Some of the winners so far: General Tso's Chicken (amazingly still crisp even as take-out), Double Cooked Pork, Fish Fillet in Hot Chile Oil. If you like noodles (which I definitely do!) the Pad See Eaw and Singapore noodles are winners too. Tried a lot of the appetizers, they never disappoint...there hasn't been a clunker yet, let's hope the streak continues! read more

Really good authentic Chinese cuisine. Only have had delivery, but several times. Always go back for more. Wish they had home-made noodles, sweet and sour sauce and really spicy mustard like Hunan Gourmet had for years in Greenwich. But, that's okay, their food is excellent. While working a long day at elections, i was going to walk over to my usual chinese place for some food. One of the others was suggesting her place and usually her order is free if you order more then $10.00. She ordered the shrimp lo mien combo and i ordered a small shrimp fried rice and of course a small wonton soup. It came to about $20.40 plus tip. Food came within thirty minutes. W have ordered here a number of times. The food is decent. Usually I have no complaints but this recent order wasn't a good experience. My meal had a plastic clothing price tag holder in it. The delivery services was pretty speeding and on time, however the taste of the food is just okay. The veggie fried rice was good and so was the broccoli in brown sauce, however, the veggie lo mein had a vegetable in there that I've never had before.
