I placed a phone order today using a coupon that was mailed to me. The person who took my order (I'm fairly certain he was the owner) honored the coupon over the phone. I even asked if he needed the coupon code, and he said no -- that he already applied it. He told me the pizza would be ready in about 15 minutes and that I could pay in person. He also told me over the phone that the breadsticks would come with marinara, and that the ranch would be free as the side for the pizza. When my husband went to pick up the order, he suddenly refused to honor the coupon unless he physically saw it and then tried to charge $0.50 per small container of ranch, completely contradicting what was already agreed upon. When I called back to clarify, he put me on hold and never returned. This was especially unprofessional because my husband was physically in the store at that moment and said there was nobody there, so he clearly wasn't busy. I had to call again, at which point he claimed that he never spoke to me to place the order at all. I told him that whether it was him or another employee, this should not happen to customers and he should address it with his staff -- though I am confident it was him who helped me in the first place. The call ultimately ended with him hanging up on me. On top of all of this, there are cats roaming around the property, which is unacceptable for a food establishment. This entire experience felt dishonest, dismissive, and extremely unprofessional. I will not give this location a penny of my support and strongly suggest local Newman residents avoid doing business here. Save yourself the frustration and go to Los Banos or Patterson instead.
