During peak traffic hours it's sometimes unavailable altogether. This company is in desperate need of an infrastructure upgrade and they literally couldn't care less. I have not one positive thing to say about Century Link. There aren't the appropriate words to even describe the amount of disappointment and dissatisfaction we've experienced with this company. Unfortunately, they are the only provider in our area. The second another provider is available we will drop their service like a bad habit. Their techs are incompetent, their call centers are impossible to navigate. They charge you for everything they can, even when it's their equipment that's failing. They are the definition of profits over product. We've been stuck with Century Link for 7 years and I can fully say that the service they provide is years out of date and an absolute disaster to be forced to use them. I am currently paying for 40 mbs service and, I kid you not, have never even reached half of that. My average download speed is about 15mbs (on a good day) and my upload averages less than 5mbs. I am hard lined directly. That's how pathetic this service is. They don't care, they won't fix it, they won't upgrade their infrastructure. Dozens of techs in person have been to my house. I've spent HOURS IF NOT DAYS on the phone with them. No discounted bill. No remedy. No cares. Absolutely disgusting company from top to bottom.

I had a weird experience with a sub-contractor(s) employee and asked him to leave. He was very odd. It was apparent when he first arrived, opened the storm door, and walked in. With four dogs in the house, plus basic etiquette, it didn't go over well with me. Not to mention he wore no I.D. nor did he introduce himself.... Maybe it's just me?!

Bundling doesn't not save money. Charter is expensive, especially for subpar service. The first six months they switched out three modems and I lost count of how many times they switched out the TV boxes. We were supposed to have several DVR's but they installed all basic boxes with no DVR's but were charged for DVR's. There was a technician at our house one to two times a month! Needless to say we no longer have them. If you want any results regarding issues you would need to go to the Charter office in Bozeman. We had paperwork from the local office that all equipment had been returned when we canceled our…read moreservices, yet when we checked with them, they said they did not have record of us returning the modem. They also said that we had to call spectrum direct to get the return modem off our account. When calling spectrum customer service customer care line we got the modem problem taken care of but also wanted to cancel our Internet service. 30 minutes later we finally got a confirmation number on a canceling of that service. The customer service individual is apparently under company regulations that require him to continue to try to sell the service so we wouldn't cancel it. We did not curse at this individual but continue to repeat that we wanted to cancel the service. He continued to try to sell us more services and lower rates. But this experience insured is that even if I am dissatisfied with my new Internet service provider, I will never return to spectrum. They either don't know or don't care that their hard-cell tactics drive away customers rather than attract them.
