They also said that we had to call spectrum direct to get the return modem off our account. When calling spectrum customer service customer care line we got the modem problem taken care of but also wanted to cancel our Internet service. 30 minutes later we finally got a confirmation number on a canceling of that service. The customer service individual is apparently under company regulations that require him to continue to try to sell the service so we wouldn't cancel it. We did not curse at this individual but continue to repeat that we wanted to cancel the service. He continued to try to sell us more services and lower rates. But this experience insured is that even if I am dissatisfied with my new Internet service provider, I will never return to spectrum. They either don't know or don't care that their hard-cell tactics drive away customers rather than attract them.

I am currently paying for 40 mbs service and, I kid you not, have never even reached half of that. My average download speed is about 15mbs (on a good day) and my upload averages less than 5mbs.
