That was great. He was friendly and professional and had our problem figured out in maybe 10 minutes - it was the air inducer motor. He did not have that part in his truck so he promised an estimate first thing Monday morning. He kept his promise with an email and a phone call right around 8:30am. The estimate was $470 for the part, $30 for part delivery and $60 for the 2nd home visit to install (after $170 for the emergency), or about $560 now, and $730 total. I price checked another Bozeman HVAC firm and saw on the internet that one other person on Amazon claimed this price from another HVAC co. But Amazon sold that part for $85 and free shipping!! I was a bit nervous about messing with a gas appliance, but this inducer screws to the wall of the furnace with just 4 screws and 2 plug-in wires. You do not touch any furnace parts that carry gas. The how-to video lasted 5 min. I took maybe 45 min. My furnace fired right up as so many Amazon reviews noted. So if you are non-mechanical, you are getting a fair HVAC price. If you can hold a screwdriver, perhaps consider saving $480!? I did need the emergency call to tell me what was wrong and that was totally fair.

Our issue is with their billing system or rather, complete lack thereof. We were presented with a bill for $6700 with zero supporting math or accounting. After asking for a proper accounting we were met with belligerence, stonewalling, threats of escalation and eventually late fees. It was obvious that the big, round number on our bill was extracted from the owner's derriere and that no amount of this or that service calculated either by hour or square footage could be massaged to equal $6700. When confronted with the (obvious) fact that if he can't show the math the number was made up he began to behave like a second grader accused of copying his classmate's test. In lieu of showing his work to us he began to threaten the property manager who originally called him. We eventually capitulated to these mafioso tactics and paid the bill in full in order to neutralize threats to the property manager. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but a bill, especially a large one, is usually arrived at by some form of mathematics.

Treasure State did a good job on the cleanup, and spent a total of 2 fulls days with two guys working. When we received the bill, it was for $6700 even with no detail at all. We asked for detail and they refused to give us anything that could get us to the total. The total was odd in that it was a round number. We would not have paid it, as our read of the law is that it favors transparency on invoices, but they were going after our rental agency since they had engaged this company. We are generally not legally oriented and definitely were not planning to engage any legal action for this amount of money, but their lack of transparency is wrong and we are certain that, and we gone farther with it, we would have prevailed. Treasure State continued to refuse any back up for our bill, and continued to press their case on our rental agency, knowing they couldn't weather the possibility of them taking it to collections. We ended up paying the bill and a 10% late fee! Best to just steer away from this company and use Buffalo Restoration or another reputable company.

I have patronized this welding shop twice now, and both times I have been extremely pleased with…read moretheir service but most of all their professional work. The first project I had them do was to repair severe damage to an old Schwinn Stingray bicycle frame. Previously I had brought it to one other welding shop in town (the one on Story Mill and Bridger Canyon) and they said they couldn't do much at all to repair it. However, one of the fellows at Midwest took a single look at it and said, "yep, no problem. We will have it done tomorrow." When I got it back, it looked like brand new. The most recent project I gave them was the mounting of a custom fiberglass motorcycle seat onto an old Honda motorcycle. The previous owner who had the seat made for the bike had removed several key parts from the frame for the seat to be mounted, and there was no hardware on the seat itself to be attached to the non-existent mounting points on the frame. To say the least, this was a tricky problem and multiple ways to solve it. When I picked the bike up after they were finished, they had exceeded even my most optimistic expectations. Im not going to get into the details of how they did it, but it was done with careful consideration as to design, safety, style, and the price limit I had set. Hell, they even powder coated the parts they added to match the color of the original frame. This was a truly masterful job they did. Though all this quality work comes at a hansom price tag, but for the product and service it is worth it. I will definitely be returning to them if I need anymore work done.

A pilot light to our furnace was out at a vacant property in Bozeman. Upon arrival in the middle of…read morethe afternoon on a weekday, their technician identified a block in the system, cleared it within 15 minutes, and lit the pilot. All good - UNTIL I was presented with a bill for $369. They charged an arbitrary amount of $250 to clear the obstruction (probably a dust-bunny) and an additional $119 diagnostic fee for finding the block. In total, the tech was at the property for 32 minutes. Ring camera confirmed. When I logged a complaint about the amount charged for the basic visit (no parts involved) their Ops Manager defended their charge by saying they often work in dangerous conditions, have highly trained techs and boasted that they do work for the Yellowstone Club. I had expected an industry standard minimum charge of $175 to $250 since he was there for less than an hour. The tech or their office never informed me of the minimum charge of $369. He told me he would not discount the charge and would send it to collections if I did not pay it.

I live on the top floor of a condominium building. When water started leaking into condo through my ceiling, my HOA was anything but helpful. I tried calling other restoration companies over the weekend as water continued to pour into my place. No one would even come look at it for me. But on a Sunday, the Gallatin Restoration guys came and looked at my leak. While they couldn't help me while the water was coming in, they at least made contact with me, then continued to text me to check in. When a large portion of my ceiling finally caved in from all the water, they came that day. By the next day, they had drywall up and then, over the course of the next couple weeks, dried out my walls, got someone in to texturize the ceiling and then painted it. You can't even tell that anything happened! The most important thing to me, though, was that they showed up when they said they would, they communicated everything they did with me throughout the entire process, and they were friendly and professional guys to work with! Like I said at the beginning, they made a terrible situation so much better and gave me my home back. They are AMAZING!
