had Montana internet for about 8 years and have never gotten a download speed above 3mbps even though the plan I am paying for is 20mbps+. in my area there is not many providers so they decided to install fiber optic about 4 years ago which is ironic considering they said it would only take 2 years and now we are going onto the 5th with no updates. worst internet company I have ever seen, worst service I have ever seen, and they don't even give you the speed you pay for. 0/10 just buy starlink or go without internet because it would probably be better than having barely enough speed to open a chrome tab. btw there is a 95% chance your internet goes out if winds are over 5mph read more

Great service all the way around. I have 3 kids with 1 being a gamer and I can't even tell when I'm watching TV that he is downloading games. So happy with Montana Internet's service. Super easy installation process as well. Technician was so helpful in answering my questions. read more

Bullies, looking for a reason to cut ties if you know too much and call them out on their bully bait-and-switch. They only get away with such abhorrent behavior because they're the only provider in that area. Now that I've been gone, moved out of state, for months, they've started calling me, wanting their equipment back. Well, you sure-fire would come take that stuff without my permission if I didn't change my Facebook review from one star to three stars, remember that? Now, you want WHAT? Threatening to charge me for the equipment won't scare me like you scared me when you threatened to remove my internet service. You can never hurt me again. I've never been treated like crap to the degree these people did. I'm disabled and old enough to be their parent. Maybe those folks would treat people more respectfully if they had a parent treated like I was. You really want to continue this relationship? It will be under the watchful eye of the Better Business Bureau, Law Enforcement and the court system of Montana. Like I said above, you can never hurt me again. read more

Great customer service! As with all technology you have issues,they are always quick to help resolve the issue. The internet speeds are not fiber optic speeds but when you live out in the mountains of Montana what do you expect. I can stream live tv and kids can play online games, what else can I ask for. read more

.5 Mbps in the middle of the night. During peak times you can't even get to a site to check the speed because nothing happens. This internet makes you long for the old 56k dial up connection because at least it eventually got there. This is a sad joke. read more

I don't know how the last reviewer would ever give 5 stars or get 15 mbps! THE LAST VIEWER LIES. I'll break it down for you. ALL PLANS get "up to" 10 mbps BUT promise (and seem to average) 384kbps / 768kbps / 2mbps for the price of 30 / 45 / 55 dollars a month (BTW that is straight from their website) BUT THE KICK TO THE TEETH, 20gb per month cap on the "BEST" plan! 20! People have phones with better data plans then that! AND $15 PER gb once you break the cap! If you use Netflix or some other movie service that's about 1 HD movie. In reality it would be better to use your phones data plan then to get Internet from this company. I bet it would cost less and provide a better speed too. read more

In all my life I have never experienced such a poor internet connection. And when I say slow I mean so slow that my computer stops working correctly while waiting for the page to load. You think something is wrong with the device you are connected to its so bad. If you call to ask for help they give you the ever so classic "its your router" response NO MATTER WHAT the problem is. I'm in Townsend, and even though I don't expect great internet, I do expect to be able to download the advertisements on the side of the page while loading speedtest.net. I've measured speeds lower than 14.4 dial-up! From 8pm to 1am, m-su, don't expect to be watching any sort of media or playing a game that requires a constant connection. It's so horrible I took the time to write this. Go with Centurylink. They replace your old phone line, offer a router that wasn't made in the 90's and are cheaper per month. read more

Where they strive to give you the minimum. We are currently paying for 10Mbps minimum download speed, but they won't even guarantee that minimum. They guarantee 80% of that. so 8 Mbps. So I am struggling to even get that speed now and they are looking into it. But fixed will not be 20 Mbps or 15 or 10 it will be 8. When they get it back to 8 Mbps their work will be done. They have no competition so they can get away with it. :( read more

if you live in rural area youre pretty much screwed on good service. too expensive and crappy service. lots of lag and buffering. no tech support at night so if it goes out after business hours youre not going to hear from them until the next day read more

I have home Internet and a colocated server with Montana Internet. Their customer service is great, and they're always willing to help find a solution (even if it's not a problem with their equipment). Even though their Internet service might not be as fast as cable, it's still a better deal because it's supporting a local business. My server lives in their data center and gets an unmetered redundant 1Gbps connection for $75 a month. read more

This is, without a doubt, the WORST internet companies I've ever had the misfortune to use. They are NOT helpful. They continue to promise things they cannot deliver and then (predictably) retract them later. Terrible customer support. I know more about internet service than some of there supposed "techs" do. If you have ANY other options, run to them fast. This company is a total fraud! I had to pay my last bill to them using my VERIZON HOTSPOT because there internet wouldn't even load their own page!!!!!! Worst internet in history! read more
