The food was fresh. The service was lovely and the restaurant was very clean and efficient (but I don't judge places on that). The company was lovely as well. I asked to sit with strangers as I was eating solo and they were very welcoming and kind and generous. This is what I love. read more

Love their food! Their gyros are absolutely delicious and affordable & the staff is so nice.

Was excited to try their food after rave reviews. Really nice couple running restaurant, initially. No one wearing gloves or hair nets..Their lemonade had a fresh rose water taste that is exceptional and earned it a 2nd Star. Ordered the Chicken Gyro Platter and waited until lunch to eat. #HAIR was 1st thing that I saw opening the styrofoam container! The owner offered another meal, but wasn't especially gracious when I wanted my money returned. #Hair in food is a no go for future meals, IMO! #YUCK.. read more

I used to eat here all the time when I was in college at Texas Tech. They have the BEST GYROS!!! It's been 2.5 years since I've had it again and wow walking in, everything is exactly the same. The food is amazing. Every time I eat a gyro in houston I compare it to here. Definitely a Lubbock gem read more

Super nice staff and owners. Very friendly and the food was top notch and plenty on the portion size!!

This is my go to for grabbing lunch before work. Their food is always good and doesn't take too long to come out. My personal favorite is the Gyro calzone. They're less messy and I can eat them in the car without much trouble. read more

Wonderful, friendly service. Totally worth a small detour from any direction. Highly recommend. We had the sampler, Lentil soup, falafel sandwich, and a baklava. So delicious. Yummy food, delightful people. read more

While sitting and enjoying an AMAZING gyro I read the review of this place by Dean T, I was a little offended that he scored it lower because it wasn't in NY. As a big guy who is always eating on the run I get the opportunity to eat at alot of random places. I've downed alot of gyros in alot of different places and think Lite Bite is just as good as what you can could can find ANYPLACE else. Lubbock definitely has its own flare on how to do things, but this doesn't make their ethnic food worse off. read more

I've been going to this restaurant since I was a child. It's remained consistent for over two decades, and has a very unique atmosphere. Please give them the business they deserve:)) read more

Not in the nicest part of town or anything but it is charming inside. The staff is super kind and the food is fresh and delicious. I've eaten here like 4 times and try something different. The pocket pies and tabouli salad are my favorites. This is not a "good Mediterranean food for Lubbock" this is just good Mediterranean lunch food period read more

The Gyro is best I've had in years extremely impressed and very happy absolute in love and will return

I went there because I was nearby and I miss my German Gyros, so I gave it a try. The Gyro is almost as good as in the Turkish places in German. I am not sure what they sell in NY but this place here is worth four stars no matter what people before me said. I wish I would have come by a couple of years ago, as I like this stuff, and this here is a quite great place. read more

I've enjoyed Lite Bite for years. Even when I moved to Houston for several years I always went to Lite Bite when I was in Lubbock visiting family. My favorite, which I almost always got, was the Gyro sandwich here. A warm pita filled with seasoned meat, onions, and tzatziki sauce. Alas, there are new owners and things have changed. Now there is a little layer of meat in the bottom and the rest of the pita is filled with lettuce with some onions and sauce on top. Very disappointing. read more

Soft, warm pita, beef and lamb with a great yogurt sauce. A bodega feel to the place, with a spread of international chocolates, candy and dried fruit near the counter and Greek music as your soundtrack. Friendly guy behind the counter, if you've never had Greek food before; I watched him patiently explain the menu to a couple of coeds, complete with proper pronunciation of Gyro. You could do much worse in or outside of Lubbock letting this be your first experience with the cuisine. read more

Great Mediteranian food and friendly service!! Gyros are always a go to - had the Gyro calzone, was a great surprise, ask for extra toasty!!

Very great service. Great food and clean atmosphere. They actually cleaned and disinfected salt/paper. Hot Turkish coffee and great service! read more

I am an advocate of support local restaurants wherever I reside or travel. However, this place really missed the mark. I really wanted to like the food here but I threw practically everything away. I've eaten at many Mediterranean restaurants and households and this did not meet any criteria. I am not sure of the following: - Regular Gyro sandwich (Gyro Sandwich Beef and Lamb Cooked On a Gyro Skewer, with Lettuce, Tomatoes, and Tzatziki Sauce) that had Feta cheese smeared on the bottom of the pita even though the menu only has Feta on the Supreme Gyro - Gyro Oregano Pizza (Same As Zaatar Pizza (Zaatar Pizza Oregano, Onions, Tomatoes & Sumac Mixed In Olive Oil & Baked To Perfection), But with Gyro Meat Added) with a gang load of tomatoes which was not stated on the menu - Steamed rice quickly cooked in the microwave (I heard the microwave going) with clumped up uncooked rice - Hummus Tahini that was overly oily and tasted very bland - Cold and Stale Pita - Cold Gyro Meat Will I return? No, I'd rather save my money. Glad to see that other people had a better experience than I did. read more

Had high hopes.... to much garlic, humus like a think syrup. Baklava was ok. People great. We travel all over the country and rely on Yelp often for places to try. Sorry we didn't like this one. read more

A great joint for med. food like gyros (pronounced yero). Run by Armenians I think, who are friendly, hard working and good cooks. I had the beef/lamb gyro, Greek salad and a slice of baklava and it was all I could do to eat it all, and I was hungry. Scenes of Greece painted en fresco on the walls. A little Greek grocery corner and Traditional Greek folk music playing on the background. Not fancy for sure, but you could call it "homey". Hidden in plain sight on 50th near Memphis, it's easy to miss. But don't. Give it a look for lunch when you're really hangry! Oopah! read more

Trying to support local and hit up places that I haven't visited in a while so Lite Bite was on my list. Dined in and had the Mezzo platter. It was fine nothing great. The tabbouleh (which is a favorite of mine) in particular seemed to be old, mushy, lacked flavor... nothing notable to make me want to return anytime soon. It was just meh... read more

The service was great and I loved the food. Our first time there they gave us Turkish coffee for free to try and the place is very clean.

Great, clean and healthy food with outstanding customer service. One of my favorite restaurants.

My favorite mediterraneanean restaurant in Lubbock. I've been eating here for 8+ years and have never had a poor experience. Fast, friendly and clean. Owner is SO nice. He remembers me every time I come in even, if it has been awhile. read more

The atmosphere at Lite Bite is nothing to write home about. The restaurant would be really cool if the lighting was subdued and they offered diners beer and wine; however I accept the fact I am in Lubbock and not Dallas nor Houston. What matters is that the food here in really pretty damn good. I ordered a 1/4 of a chicken and what they served me was enough chicken to feed a family of four, I was with a party of eight and all the consensus of opinion was that this place is a find; the food is wonderful and authentic. What's more the prices are dirt cheap. Definitely check out The Lite Bite; you won't be disappointed. Thumbs up! read more

Wonderful food and service! Get the baklava every time with Turkish coffee my daughter loved her calzone. My gyro was perfect.

If I could give this place zero stars i would. For starters, we didn't even get the hummus we ordered for our takeout dinner. That was the first disappointment. And from there on, came many more. my chicken was dry and the salad dressing tasted like water and sugar combined. Not only that, the salad shouldn't even be classified as a salad, it was just tiny shredded up pieces of lettuce, and very minimal amount to say the least. After spending over $20 for some food that wasn't even received, I am still left hungry. They weren't messing around with the name of the restaurant, lemme tell ya!! read more

Very nice people, quick service, but the food Was just not to my taste. I had the lamb gyro which I thought was sparse on meat and the pita was just okay. I also had the lentil soup which was incredibly bland. Probably won't be back. I enjoy the flavors at Manara a lot more. read more

We ordered delivery through Texas2Go. The food arrived well before estimated, which was very impressive. The appetizer meat pie was delicious. Dolmas were good, but the number of pieces was quite small (averaging out to $1 apiece, which is too much for very small dolmas). The super gyro and falafel pita sandwiches were very good. The falafel could've been better seasoned. Perhaps they could add an optional spicy sauce? All in all, it was a very positive experience. We've wanted to try this place for a while. read more

Don't let the outside fool you! I was hesitant at first but when you go inside it's like you stepped into a whole different town. Had a lot of personality. The food is fantastic! The gyros I had tasted authentic and was really good. The bead was out of this world. The owner was incredibly nice and made sure we were enjoying our meal. If you get a chance to go, definitely take advantage. read more

Stopped by for a gyro, and discovered new owners in place. Meat was good, but way too much bread to meat ratio. Baked fries were pretty good. Bring cash unless you want to pay more. read more

It's been a long time since I've found a food that I actually crave. I love everything about Lite Bite! I was only introduced to Greek food a few years ago in another city but I had no idea that Lubbock had such a yummy Greek cafe. So far I've tried the baba ganoush, gyro supreme, and the spinach pizza. Loved them all. Unique, tasty, great prices and not a super heavy food. I know I will be coming back quite often and bringing my friends. I also love that they carry other food items and deserts for sale. We bought pita bread and took it home to eat. read more

I've been here twice and ordered the deluxe gyro both times. I was disappointed because it didn't have a yogurt sauce but it was still pretty good. They are generious with the meat and the pita is soft and warm. It also comes with a side of tortilla chip. The atmosphere is unique. They have a little store in the back where they sell all types of things. The service is fast but not friendly. The best thing about Lite Bite is their hours. They have consistent hours unlike many places in lubbock. I go here when manara is closed.Parking is plentiful. All in all, I would recommend it! read more

Fine gyros, but to be honest, I have never really had a bad one in my life from any gyro shack...! I eat here about once every 2 months and pick up a big stack of their refrigerated pita bread every 3 weeks to toast and home and eat with hummus. Good baklava, wish there were more large-scale Greek items on their menu like spanikopita and moussaka and pasticio. It is fine for sandwiches, though. I don't know what it is about Lubbock restaurants that sometimes try and go the "health route" with no fries on the side, like this place and Bless Your Heart. A sandwich needs fries or a good chip, and tortilla rounds(?) just don't go well with gyros. That is my main qualm with this place. But I always come back for the gyros and pita. Cute little store in the back selling lots of Greek and Turkish treasures, spices, jams, sauces, and ready-made items for you to pick up and heat at your own house. I am always the only customer in the shop when I order, though...? Not sure why--all my friends eat here pretty regularly. read more

Tried it for the first time today. We ordered 2 gyro supremes, tabbouli salad, baba ganouge , 2 chocolate baklava rolls and one pound cake looking thing not sure of name on that one. ALL the food was simply AMAZING and very authentic tasting. Staff was super friendly and order was prepared quickly. Very large menu for a small family owned food place. We went inside and ordered to go and even with the ride home food was NOT mushy. Found a perfect little gem in Lubbock. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!!!! read more

Best gyros! Super friendly owner and staff. Been there for 24 years I think he said? AMAZING BAKLAVA!!
