He apologized and told me he understood and will be available if I ever needed him in the future. After two days, only one of the other two vendors called me back, but the other guy was busy and unable to start right away. So I took a big risk and called Mitch back. Only reason I did was because he made a good impression, a true gentleman, never trying to close a sale. I am so glad I did. I am an engineer and I am proud to say I have worked with factories all over the world. I have audited plenty of places, basically I am an expert in quality with more than 40 years of field experience. I am good at spotting a work well done. The people that Mitch sent me were top notch (Carlos and a helper). I have several cameras installed in my home. So I was able to follow step by step what they were doing. Not only they worked professionally, they are some of the hardest working people I have seen in a long time. The first day they started at 10AM and left my home at 7:30PM, only resting for a 30 min lunch. Then they knocked at my door at 8:00AM as agreed on a Sunday the following day to finish the job. (Believe it or not, they also worked on a Sunday. Frankly speaking I never expected them to arrive early that day, but they did). Very impressed with their work! STOLE $1020.00 FROM ME…read more Good day neighbors - I am writing this review of Ben Stone (Stone Electrical Service) to warn everyone of this business' fraudulent business practices. I hired Mr. Stone in early February 2023 to fix an electrical problem I was having with some of my outdoor lights. He came in and gave me an estimate of the work required and we agreed on a price. He proceeded to ask me for $400.00 to buy the materials needed to do the work. I agreed to give him the money with the understanding that he was going to provide a receipt of the money spent and he was going to return the money he did not use. He was reluctant to providing receipts and told me "None of my previous customers had ever asked me to do that". I guess that should have been the first RED FLAG. Weeks later I found out that he only spent $200.00 and owed me the remaining balance. After this initial project was completed, I was satisfied with the work he had done, so I did not think twice about asking him to do an additional project for me in which I asked him to replace some old light fixtures for newer LED fixtures. We counted the number of fixtures and he proceeded to tell me that he needed $820.00 to buy the new fixtures that needed to be installed. I gave him the money and off he went. About a week and a half passed (by this time it was late February 2023) and I did not hear from him, so I reached out to him trying to schedule the installation of my new fixtures. He proceeded to tell me that he had been bitten by a snake at home and he was in the hospital. So, I asked him - "I see that the check I had given you to purchase the light fixtures has been cashed, did you send someone to purchase the light fixtures?" He proceeded to respond "NO - LOOK MAN, I CASHED YOUR CHECK BECAUSE I GOT BILLS TO PAY AND GROCERIES TO BUY" He added "DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT MAN, I GOT A BIG JOB RIGHT AFTER I GET OUT OF THE HOSPITAL, I WILL REPLACE YOUR MONEY ONCE I GET PAID FOR DOING THAT JOB" I shared with him that I am also a contractor, and in the 23 years of being a contractor I have never used my clients' money to pay for personal expenses. He laughed it off and told me "DON'T WORRY MAN, I AM A GOOD PERSON, AND I WILL REPLACE YOUR MONEY" I proceeded to wait till late March 2023 giving him enough time to recover from the snake bite and giving enough time to complete this "big job" of his, so he could return my money. When contacted, he informed me that he was out of the hospital, but he had been instructed by his doctors not to work because he needed more time to heal and rest. I reached out to him again in late April 2023 and asked him for my money. The same story.... "I haven't worked because of the snake bite and don't have any money to pay you back." I reached out to him again in May 2023 and told him that I was going to try to collect my money thru other legal means as this was no longer tolerable for me. He proceeded to tell me "YOU BETTER NOT HIRE A LAWYER OR CALL THE POLICE BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW HOW I WILL REACT - YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT MEAN IS" -- "YOU BETTER SIMPLY WAIT UNTIL I AM READY TO PAY YOU YOUR MONEY BACK" Considering how unstable Mr. Stone is, I seized all communications with him. I would not want to find myself in a tragic situation for a mere $1020.00, but I wanted to let the community know of what has transpired, so you don't make the same mistake I made and allow him into your home. He is simply a con man and a thief. There is no other way of describing him.
