Fairclaims has committed fraud by stealing my money by refusing to finish the contract that they were paid in full for, because they misrepresented that a GAF roof inspection would be done as soon as full payments was made ( they knew this was untrue, only inspection they were planning to do was with the same project manner that installed the GAF products incorrectly) as well as they failed to honor their 2 year GAF warranty. I have tried to give GAF an opportunity to fix this matter since Fairclaims is considered a Master Elite contractor on their website. Fairclaims should be removed as a Master Elite contractor, and if they are not, then all should question all GAF Master Elite Status referral contractors, and all legitimate Master Elite contractors should be upset with the fact that Fairclaims is being allowed to be a Master Elite contractor! GAF and Fairclaims have failed to honor the GAF warranty, and GAF has allowed Fairclaims to remain a Master Elite contractor with the poor-quality workmanship seen in the photos. Fairclaims installed my roof in the exact opposite way GAF states a roof should be installed! GAF has since had an inspector come out to inspect the roof, and GAF has refused to provide me with the inspector's license number and full name to report him. He never got on my roof, and the items he claimed Fairclaims needed to fix are not being put in writing (items below in the photos). GAF has been sent the same photos from the inspector showing the needed GAF repairs that need to be done, and as of Nov 2024, I still do not have my roof completed properly. GAF refuses to honor the GAF warranties I paid extra for as well. GAF is fully aware of my issues with Fairclaims: My roof was installed in Nov 2024, and it is still not complete, along with other contracted work outstanding to be done, because Fairclaims refuses to complete the signed agreed contract. I paid for a new roof and went with all the company's upgraded recommendations for the best ventilation and cooler attic, yet they stated that additional outtakes are probably needed and should have been discussed prior to the new roof installation due to the Cobra Intakepro vents that they recommended. The Cobra 3' Z Ridge Vents I paid extra for are currently partially blocked. The Cobra 3 Z Ridge vents have incorrect size openings and are inconsistent in opening sizes. The company has refused to correct the two issues, so my attic is hotter than prior to getting a new roof! Prior to my new roof, my attic was never above 15 degrees from the outside temperature in the summer. I paid extra for the Echo Chief radiant barrier, Cobra Intakepro Vents, and Cobra 3 Z Ridge Vents, so if the attic is sometimes over 25 plus degrees hotter than outside, it is obvious something is not right in my attic due to either incorrect Echo Chief Barrier installation, or due to the partially blocked Cobra 3 Z Ridge vents, or incorrect Cobra 3 Z Ridge opening sizes, or the incorrect installation of the Cobra Intakepro Vents for proper intake of air, or all three. They installed soaking wet shingles on a wet barrier while it was sprinkling. I asked them not to install wet shingles on a wet uneven and torn barrier, and they ignored me (as seen in photos). The company installed a GAF product, Cobra Intakepro Vents; they had no idea how to install and installed it incorrectly (which I told them while on the phone with GAF during installation, and they ignored me), as seen in the photos, yet they recommended it. I paid extra for an upgrade for a 5-year Maintenance and Service Agreement and paid extra for an upgrade for a 25-year Golden Pledge Warranty and 25-year Workmanship Warranty, which Fairclaims refuses to honor. Fairclaims tried to send an agreement offering an unreasonable credit in which they figured I would not realize I would have to end up spending extra money to get a third party to finish the work they were contracted and paid to do, so they would not have to finish the agreed-upon contract. This was what I last sent Fairclaims: By you not repairing the below items correctly, you are stating that this is Fairclaims' standard of workmanship. All GAF products, as seen below, were installed according to GAF guidelines, and you stand 100% behind the work seen in these photos as correct and not needing to be fixed or redone, and this is the standard of quality of workmanship by Fairclaims. If you're interested in the "quality" of Fairclaims Roofing & Construction come on by our home. We purchased the model home in Thousand Oaks Magnolia called The Thousand Oaks, a modern farmhouse. Initially the transaction was superb, and we were really excited to own the beautiful home. We have more rooms within the house that leak due to a poor roofing subcontractor (Fairclaims Roofing) than we have dry rooms that has failed to remedy the situation in visiting the house and repairing it at least 8 times. Each time we paid for the visit to the roofing subcontractor the builder said they used. The owner, Justin, company came out a couple times but was as incompetent in recommending a fix and identifying the problem as the crew was installing the roof. His excuses were blaming it on the design of the house, the builder built this as a model home so the roof was not done with the right quality, and the builder was not willing to pay for the correct materials, etc. Moving forward from that mess we had independent roofing inspectors individually inspect the leaking areas and the entirety of the roof. Well, it comes to find out that our shingles would not even pass a warranty because the roof was not properly installed and the granularization of the shingles showed they were too old and improperly stored prior to installation. PLEASE NOTE: This was two different independent inspectors that noted the EXACT SAME THING.....you need a new roof due to the poor craftsmanship on the roof and how can you warranty something that was never done right in the first place. read more

I purchased a new home in April 2020. On 7/10/2022, a large puddle appeared on the floor around an air vent. I promptly e-mailed the builder Kurk Homes and was advised that I should contact the installation roofer - Fair Claims Roofing (FC) Chris Honeycutt, the individual who FC claimed installed the roof, came to my home in July 2022 to inspect, but he did not even bring a ladder and said it was likely a "fluke" and to keep an eye on the issue. New roof leaks in the same area in Feb 2023. I contacted Honeycutt and he inspected the roof on 2/14/2023 without entering the attic and scheduled a roof "tune up" on 2/23/2023. The same day, after they left, I noticed leaking in the back room of the home. Honeycutt performed another inspection on 2/27/2023. I was told nothing out of the ordinary was noted and that the flashing looked good, and again it could be a "fluke", but on Mar 17, water penetration occurred in that room, I climbed into the attic and took photos. FC sent Johnny back out on 3/21/2023. He caulked a small hole in the roof, which is what was believed to have caused the water penetration. In June 2023 the roof was leaking more profoundly in the front bedroom of the home, supposedly resolved during the entire roof "tune up." I was upset and submitted communication to FC via their online request portal asking for another roofer to inspect these issues. The owner Justin Oneal then inspected and stated that the J (endwall) flashing near the dormer was leaking was crimped, and that the decking was "squishy." He advised he would provide a quote for step flashing, something that he said should have been installed in this area to begin with but advised the budget provided by the home builder did not allow for this upgrade, and replacement of the decking/shingles. I received an invoice that did not mention the decking but included shingle replacement and 76 ft of step flashing ($1266.92). When Johnny, returned on 6/14/2023, I told him of the "squishy" decking, and he advised he was not provided with that information. He had a sheet of plywood in his van, and he replaced the decking and did the shingles/flashing on the front of the home. The estimate was supposed to be step flashing for the entire half of the home, front to back and he said that's not what he was told. When the time for payment came, I told FC that only the front of the home flashing was replaced, and they sent Johnny back out to complete the step flashing on the back of the home on 6/16/2023. At this point, ONeal stated he would warranty this repair for 2 years. After the drought period, the first rain on 9/16/2023 showed that the leak in the front of the home was not repaired. Large amounts of water flooded in through the smoke detector, setting off fire alarms throughout the whole home. The leak has now moved from the dormer location to the side wall area. I contacted Justin at Fair Claims roofing and advised that again the roof was leaking. He was 'flabbergasted' and came to inspect the roof on 9/19/2023. At this point, he advised that the sidewall siding was touching the roof at a small area that needed to be cut off and that the dormers needed gutters. He also said some things he "was not happy with" regarding the previous repair. After 8 inspections, my husband and I advised ONeal that we would be seeking another opinion. At this point, he became hostile and stated that the repair warranty had expired and he was fixing this out of good faith. He also stated that the interior sheet rock was not covered under the warranty even though we had it repaired 6/21/2023 ($1250). Other roofing companies have now come to my home and performed thorough inspections of the roof (something I thought would have been done with the whole home tune roof tune up) and noted areas of shingle buckling, non attached shingles, incorrectly installed shingles not to mention the "fix" on the leaking areas is nothing but caulk and improperly installed step flashing/shingles. This is an update to my previous review. Fair Claims in the end did do the right thing, or as right as they were willing or able to go, and refiinished the door to stop the cracking and splitting and give us the appearance we paid for. However, I am going to slam the supplier of the door. If anyone ever recommends Rustica doors to you - run away. Fast. Yes their doors are beautiful and at first glance, build quality appears solid. But: as we found out the hard (and expensive) way: they do not stand behind their product. Our door of solid cedar began to crack and split only weeks after installation (Fair Claims did follow all of Rustica's instructions to allow the door to acclimate, dry out, etc). So in the end: $8000.00 out of pocket for a door the manufacturer would not replace due to defect. The only reason this updated review is only 4 stars is because in the end, we still had to chase Fair Claims for the final resolution. That they did ultimately refinish and paint the door to at least repair the damage, says a lot about their integrity. Over the last 12 years I have used various contractors and each time it has been an utter disaster or disappointment. It has been such an issue that I simply gave up on trying to remodel and wanted to just move. Last year this time I hired a contractor to do some exterior and interior work. I am very pleased with every facet of my experience with Justin and his organization. From our very first meeting, I was happy with the care and attention Justin dedicated to ensuring a successful project. He patiently explained the roof repair process, what his firm could offer, and the options available. His crew worked conscientiously, capably and quickly to complete the necessary sheetrock repairs and roof replacement. The sheetrock repair required the crew to move many items away from the repair site in the room and to protect them from paint. The crew did a great job. Justin never came out to the property to look at the issue I had with the flashing not done correctly. After he did his song and dance to get the contract and cashed the checks, he would knot return phone calls or come out to see the issue. On 4/21/17 I hired FairClaims Roofing (Spring location) to put a new roof on my home. They installed TPO on my flat roof without my consent. Since then I've experienced recurring roof leaks and was NOT satisfied with FairClaims' attempts at repair so I decided to get a third-party inspection. The roof inspection indicated improper installation of the TPO -- the TPO membrane was already lifting around the perimeter. I had a total of 3 inspections, each confirming a bad installation. The president & CEO, Justin O'Neal, cancelled each scheduled appointment to personally come look at my roof. He denied wrongdoing by FairClaims and basically minimized my situation by telling me that it was normal for my roof to leak since it was almost 1/3 of the way through its life. He refused to honor my warranty, and I was forced to hire $$$ another roofing company to fix my roof. read more

I'm really not sure why this company has bad reviews. They were super professional, quick, respectful, and did a great job for a great price. We never had one issue with our new roof and if we need to replace the roof at our new home, we would use them again. Justin was incredibly communicative and accommodating. He checked in before the crew started working and gave me his cell if I had any issues. I felt terrible bothering him, but we had these rose bushes in the front yard and there were a few shingles that had fallen on just one of the the multiple bushes. I just mentioned it to him and it was immediately gone (it wasn't a big deal and they were being as tidy as possible, but the bush was full bloom and I love roses so I wanted to keep as many flowers as possible!)! He didn't seem bothered or agitated and someone on the crew even apologized to me. I had two smaller kiddos I was concerned about them getting hurt after the replacement, but the crew did a great job keeping the mess as organized as possible and they even did a second check, we had no issues at all after the roof was finished being replaced. I thought Justin, his crew, and everyone I encountered with Fair Claims did a great job. Also, my realtor, whose husband owned an appraisal company, referred me to them. Her and her husband both are very particular and she said they did her personal home, as well as many of her clients' homes and they had never had any issues either. Avoid this Company. A new roof installation is a significant expense as is multiple repairs required to repair leaks from a substandard installation. I built a new custom home and the builder used Fair Claims as their roofer (sub-contractor). The new roof from the inception experienced multiple leaks that were not correctly repaired. While we were assured that Fair Claims had corrected the problems even though they never informed us when they scheduled the repair work and a report of what measures were taken. We had a 1 year guaranty from the builder and were not concerned. However, after the expiration of the guaranty, we contacted Fair Claims to let them know the repairs to correct the leaks, if any, did not work. Now that the builder's 1 year guaranty expired, the following response was received from the Company's President: "The original installation for your builder only has a 1 yr warranty and all repairs also have a 90 day warranty. Normal new construction installation practice isn't holding up. A long term solution simply needs measures above and beyond the scope of a normal installation. The proposed repairs are all above and beyond the original scope and a solution we feel will address the issues that have come up". In other words, Fair Claims does not have the knowledge to install a roof that functions correctly. As a result, they are proposing a correction to the original installation that goes beyond the new construction practices. Why wasn't this considered when the roof was installed to their specifications???? Also it appears from conversations with other roofers that a 90 day guaranty for repairs is laughable. If you are building a new home, ask your builder who his roofer is and do not sign the contract unless you have the option of selecting a roofer of your choosing. If you simply need a roof repair, do not call this company as guaranties for workmanship of 2-5 years and up to 10 years is the national standard. Ninety (90) days is a joke!!!!! read more

The estimate gentleman came out to give us a quote on minor roof damage in a timely manner and he was professional and prompt. First impression was great. But then After a week, we never received a quote. I called him on his cell many times to follow up with where our quote was and he answered only one of my calls, said he would get the quote out that afternoon. After another week, my wife called his office and left a message with his manager, he never returned her call so she called again. This time, she got a hold of his manager and he said he would call back re:the allusive quote. He never called back & didn't return the messages left. Highly disappointing. Do NOT do business with these people! They will come to your house in a fancy truck, a slick talking sales rep, and sell you a bill of goods they can't even come close to fulfilling. They are also going to try to get you to make an insurance claim, which in my case was a blatant attempt to fleece my insurance company. When the adjustor came out, he laughed and said the roof was not damaged from hail AT ALL. Don't count on dates that they give you for any repairs. It took them six weeks past the repair date they gave me to do the work (a two hour job), and in my case the salesperson Adam, will not return your phone calls. The office will refuse to discuss your repair, and in general, no one has any clue who is in charge of anything. They gave me five repair dates, and failed to show up for any of them....even worse, no one bothered to call to let me know that they were not going to show up. I finally got a hold of the guy in charge of scheduling the work, and he was incompetent, and had no idea where the job was, or when it was going to happen. They eventually showed up out of the blue, with no phone call advising me they were showing up, and completed the work.....3 months later than promised. I attempted to go to another company, but they only give you three days to cancel the contract, and again refused to return my phone calls about the issue. They promise to clean up your yard, but left mine completely trashed, and once again, refused to answer any of my phone calls or emails. In my opinion these people are crooks, and once they have YOUR money, you can forget any kind of customer service. They spend a lot of money on advertising, and in hindsight, any company that needs to advertise like they do, and not by word of mouth, is a big red flag to not do business with them. read more

After 6 companies I was completely confuse about what I actually needed and unhappy with the reports provided to me by the other companies. I took a chance and called Phil Ebner and explain to him that I needed an inspection and quote on a new roof if it was necessary. Phil met us at the house and after his inspection he very clearly explained the condition of the roof, showed me pictures and explained that patching my old roof will not be effective. Fairclaims was recommended by a friend, and I understand why! Fantastic experience. Chris Honeycutt is the rep who I worked with from start to finish. He is what made the experience awesome--professional, incredibly response, detailed with answering questions, communicative, and so much more! Hands down the best rep I've worked with from a company. He kept me posted, offered great advice, talked out things that would work best for my house, neighborhood, etc., never overcharged or pressed goods I didn't need, was at the house to greet the workers, was present throughout the process, took progress photos, and even checked back after the first rain to ensure all was well. The process of roofing was as pleasant as a roofing installation can be. They arrived on time, introduced themselves, covered flower beds, and did an absolutely amazing job at every stage. I've heard horror stories of the mess most companies leave behind so expected to find nails and debris and trash, but to my shock, they cleaned up with gusto!!!! I didn't find a single item left behind. It was as if they'd never been here except for that fabulous new roof atop the house! Financing was awesome.
