The service experience was good. I came in as a walk- in, I waited about ten minutes and then the nail tech started working on my manicure. I came in for a dip powder manicure. The nail tech was very nice and did not rush on my mani. I have been getting dip powder for a while now and have noticed that some places use the gel top coat and place your hands under UV light. Ive come to notice that the powder does not stay on long when they do this route. The powder stays on my nails better when they use the normal 3 step sealant. SO ANYWAY, my nails chipped by like the fourth day . So I wont be coming back. I wouldn't recommend if your intentions are dip powder! read more

When you live in a neighborhood with dozens of nail salons to choose from, having a negative experience means you just move on to the next one and try for something better. Unfortunately this review comes from a place where I can say this is a one and done experience, which is a shame because I had chosen this salon based on the reviews and wanting to support a salon with less of the glitz and glam of those with complimentary champagne and rose petal pedicures. I don't need all of that flare anyway, but for just wanting basic services my experience here was subpar at best. I called around 11am to see if they had any availability through the day for a gel mani and gel pedi. They said they were busy, but asked if I could come at 1pm instead....sure, not a problem. I got there at 12:55 not expecting to be seen immediately, but 1pm became 1:20 became 1:45 until finally I was waved over at 2pm for my pedicure. For that hour I straddled the mindset of "ok this is rude, why tell me to come at 1 when you're still so busy?" and "if I leave I'll have to wait somewhere else anyway so I might as well stay". By the time I'm seated, I'm not even the least bit relaxed. I realize 3/4 of the way through my pedi that they forgot that my service was supposed to be gel so a regular pedi it was. Afterward I asked if they still had time to knock out a regular mani, they obliged. My mani was set using a tabletop fan and some quick set top coat. When I asked if it was dry, my tech said yes. I went to get my credit card out to pay and messed up 2 of my nails. She seemed frustrated when I asked her to fix them, even more so when she realized she needed to start over on both. The next day, 2 nails had already started to chip and one is peeling straight off my nail. I used my own seche vive gel top coat to try and stop it from chipping further. It's been awhile since I've had a traditional mani, but I'm not exactly tough on my nails. The fact that they are chipping the day after is disappointing. I have no doubt others have had repeated positive experiences here, and maybe my not being a regular is why my experience wasn't a priority, but with so many other options in the neighborhood I'll be visiting them before deciding if I'll give Lisa's another shot. read more

I loved everything about this nail salon except the unbelievably strong chemical smell that permeates the place. If they could do something about that I'd definitely go back as my pedicure lasted many weeks. My fingernails did not, but I abuse my hands so I'm not holding that against them. I just moved to the area recently and I wanted to find a place where I could get my nails done occasionally. I usually do my own gel nails because I'm really picky. Ann did my acrylic refill and they came out better than my original full set! (I didn't get my full set done at Lisa's.) She was very nice and she really took her time. I am giving them four stars because I was there for two hours for just a refill and they also had a limited selection for regular nail polish. They did seem to have many options for gel though. As every woman knows, once you find a place that works for you, that's it. Lisa's is my nail place. I've been coming here for about a decade already (wow, time flies!) and there's reasons for that, even though I have to drive about 20 minutes or so to get my nails done. The girls here are awesome; I always leave happy with my nails. As others have mentioned, everything is not the fanciest or super new, but to me, the quality of my nails is what matters. Ann, the owner, is great and always does a nice job on my eyebrows and I always get a nice relaxing pedicure and refill/pedicure and am out in a timely manner. The price for the quality of the stuff you get done is awesome as well. There's tons of places closer to me that do a crappier job, skip the extras (hot towels, lotion) and charge way more. And while some people are upset they reuse the tools, they do clean them between uses and I've never had any issues. Lisa's is my hidden gem in Roxborough and I'll continue coming here as long as I'm within driving distance! read more

I have driven by Lisa's countless times before because i live only a few blocks away, but finally decided to try it for the first time yesterday. And I'm so pleased! Their storefront is not one of the attractive ones out there, but this salon is just the proof that you shouldn't judge the book by its cover. The quality of work for the price is amazing. I'm so annoyed that I like how he did my nails since I won't come back. Three of us to get service. Only 2 of us have it. Why? Because although they KNEW we all wanted our nails done, they decided to see the appointment they'd scheduled. Now, don't get me wrong, I feel as though appointments have priority. I gave up on keeping my acrylics a while back, having had so many mediocre-to-bad experiences in the Roxborough/Manayunk area. I missed having nails so much, but since moving to the area from Bucks County I couldn't find one salon out of all we have around here that I could count on to do a good job regularly. I'm an easy client though I am particular about my nail shape which is a leaning to almond oval. I don't care about champagne, ambience, sometimes waiting a bit. Anyhow, I decided to try this super non-descript little place in early fall bc it's one of the two in the area I had never tried (the other being on the same block a few doors down, which I have also now accidentally tried with a muuuuuch different result!). No ambience, the prices are almost scary low, but I caught a good review from someone who sounded like me - just looking for good nails and good customer service, so I went on in. And I'm so glad I did. Ann is great, had no problem with the shape I wanted - and she knows exactly how to do a strong, beautiful, acrylic set, getting the sidewalls perfect, everything. She's generally pleasant and polite as are all the younger girls there. I am a regular and have nails that make me smile as well as always being complimented. I would give twice as many stars if it was possible. Sometimes the little things in life like finding a reliable nail lady make everything better, and for me Lisa Nails has put a great glow on things. read more

I took my 13yo daughter to get her first ever full set with French tips today. We made an appointment for 1pm on a Saturday, which is a pretty busy time. When we arrived, we waited 30 mins for our appointment but the owner/manager was very nice to us and apologized for the lateness. The two women who did my daughter's nails - the owner and her daughter - were patient and kind, really listening to what my daughter wanted and helping her make decisions when she needed guidance. They did a beautiful job and finished in exactly an hour, though they weren't rushing and took their time to do things right. I was glad I got to wait while it was busy, because I got to see them treat all the women (of different ages and races) with respect and kindness. I saw other people's nails too, and every person who walked out of there had a beautiful manicure. One woman, a regular, accidentally left her credit card and the owner made sure she got it back. Their prices are reasonable - $45 for a full set with another $10 for French tips. I was able to pay with credit card, cash, Venmo, or CashApp. We will definitely be back to Lisa's Nail Salon, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone! read more

It bothers me to have to write this review. I have been going here for years and never have I experienced, what I did today. I called early this morning to make an appointment with Ben, one of the nail techs. Lisa answered the phone said they no longer accept appointments, only walk ins and to just come in. I walked in around 2:30 and The owner (Lisa) said that Ben was finishing up a client and would be with me shortly. She had another nail tech start to remove the dip polish that Ben put on my nails 2 weeks prior. Around 3:30, a woman walked in and said she has an appointment with Ben. The owner stated that she must have made a mistake and that I'd have to get another tech to do my nails or wait for Ben to do my nails, after the woman who had just walked in. I told her that I spoke to her early this morning and was told that they no longer accept appointments. Why should I have to wait or go to someone else to get my nails done?! She sat and joked with the other woman and acted as if nothing had happened. I paid and tipped the nail tech who removed my polish and walked out. I had an absolutely wretched experience here. I went in to get my eyebrows done and a manicure. First she did my eyebrows, she botched them. I had a huge chuck missing from my eyebrow, so much so that it looked like I had one eyebrow lowered at all times and everyone asked " what the fuck happened to your eyebrow?" Next was the manicure. I found this place for a wedding, and it was right next door to where I was getting my hair done. I made an appointment, and had a nice experience. I got a mani and a pedi for 30, not including tip. I enjoyed the time, it took about an hour and a half, and I thought the quality was pretty good for the amount I was paying. I really couldn't complain about anything, everyone was friendly. My wife suffers from MS. I spoke to the manager about getting her in for a mani pedi before our daughters wedding. As soon as I told her my wife was in her wheelchair she responded that the shop was not accessible, which it is, and that there were no appointments for her Aside from the potential of being sued for such behavior I must advise anyone who has a family member with a mobility issue to stay as far away from leases as possible. Came here for the first time since I was unable to trek out to south Jersey to my usual spot. The place is fine, far from high end but cheap. They reuse all the same utensils (or whatever they're called) and just clean them and spray them right before they use them on you. My gel manicure was good, just had it done so won't know if it will last quite yet. I try to stick to OPI when I get my nails done, they really lack a gel color selection. My pedicure is fine, nothing to write home about. I would come again if I was in a pinch. read more

Just recently moved to manayunk and have been in search of a new salon. I settled on Lisa's and couldn't be happier. I was greeted right away, shown to the gel colors, and taken to a chair immediately. The woman, which I didn't catch her name, who was working on my nails did a fantastic job. I haven't been this happy with my nails in awhile. The only thing I would suggest is rehabbing the space and doing some upgrades.
