Three times, we…read morejust patched our roof, but after this last one, the time had finally come to file an insurance claim and get it replaced. We have State Farm, and they referred us to Black Dog Roofing, and are we glad they did?! Every step of the way, it's been a fantastic experience with Black Dog. John came out, inspected and marked the roof, answered all our questions, advocated with the State Farm appraiser, and recommended some strategic upgrades that make a ton of sense. They guided us through materials and color selection (including running multiple samples out to us when we couldn't make up our minds), worked with us on payment, and were in constant communication via text, answering my questions and in general making everything easy. They acted fast too. It took a little over a month from start to finish to get our new roof, and we love it. The materials arrived exactly when they said they would, and so did the workers. Then they got it done in a single day, and when we got home, we couldn't even tell they had been there. It was like a new roof just magically appeared on our home. Awesome. Everything I'd hoped for. In terms of cost, I have never gotten a new roof before, so I have no frame of reference, but the costs all along the way felt reasonable to me. And insurance covered most of it (except the upgrades, obviously), which was great. Next, they are replacing one elevation of siding and then our gutters and downspouts. I'll update my review after that's done, but so far I couldn't be more pleased. If you need work on your roof, definitely check these guys out.

This is going to be my 1 star review tomorrow AM:…read more I had a full roof replacement on a Friday. The following Thursday I had 7-9 roof cap shingles blow off. I called Tim the owner (who was not present during the install). He indicated he would be there in an hour. It was 4hrs later, he came and said he had to go get some adhesive. Two hours later (8:30) at night glued them back. On the next Monday, (my roof is now 10 days old), there were more tiles off. He said he would be there at 6:00pm. He did not show. On Tuesday I called and he said he would be there between 9:00am and 6:00pm as he would have to fit it in between "training". He was a no show, and no response to texts or calls. I tried to get a hold of him on Wednesday, and finally got him about 4:00pm. He said he was in the hospital since Monday night (when I talked to him Tuesday there was no mention of this). He said he would come by and look at it. He was a no show. Now he doesn't answer my calls or texts. Very unprofessional, poor quality, horrible communicator.

This is to notify you, that to date you have failed to complete any work on site in a substantial workmanlike manner. This is all documented with pictures, videos, and voice recordings. Last night, April 3rd with tornado warnings til 8pm and with high winds we reached out to you via text and followed up by a one on one phone call that the ridge cap you removed and then reinstalled on March 22 had blown completely open.  We also explained new roof panels were being buffetted and needed securing.  You agreed to come out and then never showed up.  Dave called at least 2 more times and left voicemails.  I sent additional text requesting your arrival time and included vidoe to support how serious the situation was.  I also tried calling.  You ignored all our attempts to reach you. Today, April 4th we once again made numerous attempts to reach you.  It is only when I call from a unfamiliar cell that you chose to answer.  I said hello Bob this is Brenda Meyer and you hung up on me. This email is to notify you that you have violated our contractual agreement. Your failure to secure the roof has resulted in additional damages to our property.  It was negligent of you to do so and negligent of you not to respond on site last night. We can not move forward with a company and individual who puts our home, dwelling, and our expensive Airstream at risk like you did last night.  We also refuse to move forward with a company and individual such as yourself who avoids communications with their client.  The quality of your work was poor at best. I had requested your material bills today so that I could rationalize how much of the 4200 downpayment you need to return.  Since you refuse to comminicate I have now filed a complaint with the BBB for the full amount. Dave and I have spent too many hours of our own personal time following after poorly installed materials.  As homeowners we had to climb on the metal roof and fix the ridge cap you failed to secure.  We did not sign up for these kinds of games. It seems very unlikely Bob that you have the metal roofing experience you told me you had when I was looking for a roofer. Please remove all my home images from your Bob King Facebook account.  We did not grant you permission to use images of our private home on a public social media site. You have left a ladder here.  Please contact us via email for a time to retieve that. Please return the 4200 downpayment you received.
