The best seats in the house are not in house but out on the dining patio where you can look out over Colvos Passage and across to Vashon Island (yes, they have heaters and blankets). Lunch is a walk up and order affair from the friendly staff and they'll bring your food to wherever you choose to sit. Plenty of napkins, cutlery, and ware is available on the patio. Bonus - you can grab and go. Not just their food but a full array of convenient food and drink options, candy, etc.

Their sourdough pizza is seriously amazing--one of the best I've ever had. The crust is perfectly crispy on the outside while staying soft and chewy on the inside. I've tried the honey mustard chicken pizza, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The combination of honey mustard, arugula, and chicken worked so well together. I've also had the bacon chicken ranch, which was just as delicious. I always look forward to trying their weekly specials! The views are incredible too. You can sit by the water and watch people kayaking and fishing, and when the tide is low, I've even brought my dog and walked along the beach. I also love the huge variety of drinks they offer, from coffee and draft beer to canned beverages. On top of that, they do a great job supporting other local businesses and carry a lot of locally made goods. They have a small parking lot so sometimes it fills up, but you can also park across the street. Such a great spot for good food, drinks, views, and a relaxed atmosphere! I really enjoy coming here time and time again.

Like most people, I'm typically wary of businesses that have a low rating but decided to give this…read morecoffee one a try. I was pleasantly surprised! I have only been here twice and both times have been a great experience. My first visit was a few weeks ago while passing by on a very hot day. I ordered a 24 oz latte over ice. It hit the spot and then some. The espresso was smooth, the milk fresh, and just overall a very balanced drink. I prefer my coffee on the stronger, less sweet side. This drink did not disappoint. The barista who took my order and prepared my drink was incredibly friendly and my drink was made quickly (not that I was in any kind of rush). My second visit today in the early afternoon was another positive experience. I ordered the same drink and although a different barista, provided the same quality customer service. Consistency is a big deal to when it comes to my coffee. This barista was again very friendly and had my drink ready in no time. Some other pros of this business is the ease of access off route 302 (with entering/exiting), it sits inside a large parking lot of a Chevron gas station, and the prices are incredibly competitive compared to what things in general go for these days. I'll conclude by saying if you are the mood for some delicious quality beverages and take pride in supporting your local business, please show them some love. As long as I'm in the neighborhood, they've earned themselves another loyal customer. Thank you Morning Star Espresso!

B's Bagels is, hands down, one of my favorite places to eat in the Tacoma area…read more I will quite literally drive from Tacoma over the bridge to Gig Harbor, pay the toll, wait in the enormously long line that is almost always at B's, and risk finding out they've sold out just to get one of their bagel sandwiches. And I'll do it again. The bagels are that good. Whether I'm calling it breakfast or lunch depends entirely on the day, but this is one of those places where I already know the trip is worth it before I leave the house. The line can be long and yes, sometimes they sell out. That's the risk you take. Consider it part of the experience. If the line is out the door, get in it. If they still have bagels when you make it to the front, congratulations.

I was so excited and thankful to finally find a vegan spot with vegan bagels AND vegan cream cheese…read morewhile visiting Gig Harbor. My daughter got a bagel with the vegan avocado schmear which was OK but I was quite disappointed after we left and opened my bag to find a plain bagel with the vegan cream cheese not on it but instead in a small container cold. Sounds silly, but part of the enjoyment of getting a bagel out is that you get a warm bagel and you have vegan cream cheese spread on it, which warms it up a little bit and makes it taste better. It was such a bummer to not have it spread on and even more so because I didn't have a knife to spread it (we were traveling and I didn't know it was on the side so I didn't grab a knife from the place). Would suggest having any vegan spread on the bagel :)
