In the summer you need to get their mocha vacche frappe. It's amazing!! Always get the whipped cream on top- it's worth it! And in the winter I love the hot vanilla breve latte. Their white pumpkin mocha is a seasonal favorite of mine as well. Their white pumpkin inside is tastefully decorated in a rustic fashion and is cozy and welcoming. Eager for coffee on this cold day, I decided to try Cutters. I was passing through town, so this was my first visit. When I walked in, I was first struck by the cute, woodsy, decor. There is an inside/outside fireplace with comfy chairs. There's a large table in corner, bar seating, plus lots of smaller tables indoors. Outdoor seating is also available. There is ample seating for all. The staff was friendly when I walked in, and I was pleased with our pleasant interactions. The menu includes several unique coffee options, along with the "usual suspects". The vanilla chai and the bourbon caramel macchiato were both nice drinks. This spot is so close to being a solid 5 stars. The only thing holding it back is consistency. Keep in mind this is their flagship store. Cutters Point Original is actually one of my top beans to use at home, especially if you catch it in that perfect 7 to 29 days post-roast window. It was one of the first coffee shops I tried after moving to this side of the Sound, and it'll always be a nostalgic favorite and a fun stop for years to come. That said, the latte consistency has been hit or miss. I've had beautifully pulled shots that were smooth and balanced, but I've also had ones that leaned sour, and a couple that crossed into bitter territory. Never bad enough to toss the drink, but there have been a few moments where I looked down at the cup with disappointment, knowing what it could have been. There's a lot of potential here, and when it's good, it's really good. I'll definitely keep coming back, just crossing my fingers for one of the better pulls. read more

I began visiting Austin Chase Coffee in Gig Harbor, Washington (Olympic Village) in 1990. I always ordered my go to drink of a 16 oz. Mocha made with Ghirardelli chocolate, extra hot, no foam. It was consistently good. I would spend some time hanging out in the coffee shop, perusing the travel guide books I had brought with me, mapping out my plans for the day. In 1995, Brooke Payne purchased the Gig Harbor flagship store, also known as "the living room of Gig Harbor", and it's 7 other locations. In 2001, the business expanded into their own roasting facility and was rebranded as Cutters Point Coffee. Perhaps it was my sense of nostalgia, and longing for the past, but until recently I never visited Cutters Point Coffee. On 5/19/23, I visited Cutters Point Coffee in Gig Harbor. I was impressed by the custom doors that I thought may be just for looks, but they were functional. I open the doors and was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. The "new" space looked even better and more inviting than Austin Chase Coffee. I liked that there were different seating options inside, as well as a very nice patio. There was even a private room one can reserve for book clubs, and other meetings. The bathroom for large and clean. The coffee menu had been expanded. They had all the old favorites, as well as some delicious sounding signature drinks, such as Bourbon Caramel Macchiato. I ordered a 16 oz Mocha, extra hot, no foam. I was told that the didn't have whole milk, which I found surprising, but I was happy to learn they still make their mocha's with Ghirardelli chocolate. The barista "made" whole milk for me by mixing 2% milk with cream. The mocha and service were excellent! I enjoyed my visit to Cutters Point Coffee so much, that I'm already planning my next visit in September. *Cutters Point Coffee has 13 locations, 4 of which are in Gig Harbor. Other Washington locations are in Tacoma, Lakewood, Lacey, and Kent. There's also a location in Savannah, Georgia. Highly Recommended!!! read more

First time here at Cutters coming from Stockton to Gig Harbor WA. So this particular location has a nice vibe. There is ample room to post up with a book to read, emails to answer or to just surf the web. I know, surfing the web is a bit outdated, but I am from the America Online Generation of phone modem internet! The Chai Latte was excellent. Creamy and frothy with a nice temperature. Reminded me of Oregon Chai which I think is the best but this was up there with the top notch Chai's from other venues like Java Blue Lakes in Twin Falls ID. Better than Starbucks for sure and the Menu has an excellent selection of signature coffes to keep things interesting. Not sure if the 5th star is deserving just yet but I think the 2nd visit might tell me a bit more of the overall quality here at this location. Also, there is plenty of shopping in this district and you can catch an IMAX movie just steps away from Cutters Point Coffee! read more

I won't go there even if every other coffee place is closed. I'll just make coffee at home. I know a really good barista and I asked her to please go get a job there so I could get some decent coffee out of that place, she laughed and told me if she was blonde or willing to change her hair color to blonde she might have a fighting chance but unfortunately she is not. I got a say, I'm a bit disappointed with this place. This is the second time we come to this location and both times, we've encountered several people coming in with no masks. State mandate is still up, mask in public places. The baristas has their masks under their nose a few times, and seemed to not mind the locals coming in maskless. One lady stood in line, maskless, coughing her butt off. Seriously?? Drinks: I had a white chocolate mocha and it was pretty good. My husband was happy with his cold foam, cold brew. This is the first of the franchise that I went to and was not disappointed! The drinks were delicious and loved that they also had beer on tap for my dad. The cookies and scones were delicious and the employees were very friendly and kind. The interior of this location is also super cute and reminds me of a log cabin. There is a fireplace and overall has super cozy vibes. I would recommend for anyone looking for a nice place to hang out or study or just for a quick coffee run. We've been using Cutters Point coffee beans at home for some time. Recently we found online that they have a subscription service where the beans are automatically sent to your door. We signed up for 2 week auto delivery. Our first bag arrived and while they were labeled as our normal Discovery Espresso, they tasted much weaker. Oh well, no worries things happen and maybe they were mislabeled. Fast forward 3 weeks and we still haven't received our second shipment. Our card was billed but no tracking number or any information available in our account other than we were billed for the service. Fast forward another 2 weeks and we are billed again. Once again another credit card payment, but NO beans, no tracking number, nothing. I reach out via phone to Cutters Point corporate number listed on their website. Several calls during business hours, but no answer. Voice mails left stating our problem, a return number to call us back, etc. WE HEAR NOTHING. I write an email with our account number, the issue we're having , no response. A week goes by I call again, no answer. Finally we decide to just call a retail location and speak to the manager. She confirms the number and email we are using are correct but states she will take our information and have someone reach out. You guessed it, NO RESPONSE. So long Cutters Point. read more

I wasn't super stoked on their drink. It didn't taste that great. The atmosphere is super cool - it looks like a log cabin. But the menus and food and whole experience reminded me a lot of Starbucks, so I wasn't super into it. The staff is super nice though! It's a good spot to hang out if you're into Starbucks. I did order my husband a plain americano and realized when we got home that his had cream in it. He still enjoyed it for what it was. For the limited options in Gig Harbor, this seemed to be a popular spot. I'd go back for a basic drink. read more

Stopped at the Olympic Drive location to have an afternoon coffee and catch up with a friend. I used to live in Gig Harbor but have been away for five years, the staff and coffee were great but the place is really needing some attention to cleanliness. The vinyl seat we were going to sit on was all torn up so we chose to sit outside . The bathrooms were horrible, worse than an old gas station bathroom. Need a thorough cleaning and fresh paint really disappointing to see the owners let it run down like that. read more

Their microwave was not working for one thing but more importantly, the cashier didn't let me add points in my app. I am new to the app so she explained that after she totaled up the bill I could scan the app to add the points. When I paid her I asked her if I should scan the app now and she said she already closed the transaction so it was too late! I asked if there was any way to add the points and she said no. She just said she was sorry and I think good customer service requires a little extra effort than "I'm sorry " especially when it was her mistake. I would not be writing a bad review if she had offered me anything at all to make up for it. I've been in customer service all my life and at 68 now, I've seen a nosedive in good customer service. That will make or break a company quicker than anything. read more

Let me first start by saying that I LOVE the staff, coffee, and food. Ok now that being said my main issue is the limited work space. For a coffee shop which come on we all know nowadays is also a work place for people as well and a study place for me, this is not tech friendly. What I mean by this is that there are literally only 3 places you could sit and plug in. I have driven 15 minutes to get here and then had to sit at a table with no ability to plug in and wait for one to open up. Also they are lacking in comfort. For the money that I feel they are making from the sale of merchandise, coffee (which we all know is a huge money maker as it is cheap to make), to alcohol sales they should be able to make some upgrades for the comfort and convenience to their customers. Oh and by the way if you want a mimosa then don't plan on being able to get one on a weekend morning. This is run by a Christian who believes they shouldn't serve before noon. Also, they have closed early for their Christian groups to meet. I was there studying based on hours posted online and was asked to leave an hour early because of this. I had no idea and had planned my babysitter around my study time out of the house. So I had to pack up my laptop and things and find somewhere else to go and decided to go home early because it would have taken too much time to setup again somewhere else for just an hour. read more

I enjoy visiting Cutter's Point when I am in Gig Harbor. The coffee is fresh and the breakfast is awesome. The staff is friendly and efficient- they can help you decide what you'd like to try if you're feeling adventurous but lost. My only upset is that the baked goods seemed stale. I ordered a donut which was hard and dry. I assume it was in the case for a long while. Fortunately, I'm more concerned with the quality of my coffee- and Cutter's KNOWS their coffee. I am not from Gig Harbor nor familiar with this area but I had to travel here today to visit my doctor and decided to grab a quick bite & coffee. So I randomly yelped some coffee shop and this place popped up. OMG. I am so glad that I decided to check this place out. I recently had septoplasty so with splinters inside my nostril, it's been really hard for me to taste nor smell food. However, breakfast sandwich and caramel butter coconut latte from here tasted still so amazing even with my nose plugged up. I am just so surprised. I wonder how much more tasty & delicious foods here can be when I come back here after I remove my splinters. Their breakfast sandwich has perfect texture of ciabatta, not way too salty seasoned ham & cheese with egg. Sooooo good. Also, the caramel butter coconut latter tastes good although I can't really taste coconut yet. On top of their amazing food, staffs here were really really friendly and nice so I am definitely going to come back to this place again if I happen to be in Gig Harbor area again in future. read more
