The best seats in the house are not in house but out on the dining patio where you can look out over Colvos Passage and across to Vashon Island (yes, they have heaters and blankets). Lunch is a walk up and order affair from the friendly staff and they'll bring your food to wherever you choose to sit. Plenty of napkins, cutlery, and ware is available on the patio. Bonus - you can grab and go. Not just their food but a full array of convenient food and drink options, candy, etc. read more

Always amazing service! I really enjoy their lattes and mochas, and I love that they use local coffee beans from Cutters Point. Their sourdough pizza is seriously amazing--one of the best I've ever had. The crust is perfectly crispy on the outside while staying soft and chewy on the inside. I've tried the honey mustard chicken pizza, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The combination of honey mustard, arugula, and chicken worked so well together. I've also had the bacon chicken ranch, which was just as delicious. I always look forward to trying their weekly specials! The views are incredible too. You can sit by the water and watch people kayaking and fishing, and when the tide is low, I've even brought my dog and walked along the beach. I also love the huge variety of drinks they offer, from coffee and draft beer to canned beverages. On top of that, they do a great job supporting other local businesses and carry a lot of locally made goods. They have a small parking lot so sometimes it fills up, but you can also park across the street. Such a great spot for good food, drinks, views, and a relaxed atmosphere! We thought we'd get a slice of sourdough pizza but they no longer sell pizza by the slice! Darn! We stopped by the museum and that was the fascinating aspect of stopping here at this market. Tiny but well put together museum filled with history about this small town including "wilderness heights" murder fiasco! Beautiful area to walk around and take-in the views on a slow going Thursday! I'd give a higher rating based on beautiful location but Yelp is based on actual food/dining experience. Went on beautiful day, nice drive off freeway exit. There was ample parking in front and across the street. Nice enclosed deck dining and small indoor dining. The view being on the water and partial peek at Mt Rainer makes for great vibe especially on nice days. We were excited to try this place seeing the ads on FB. We knew it was busy having to park across the street. We walk in and see a station on the left that said drinks on tap, forward was a food making station with partitions making it look closed off from ordering. So then we thought maybe we just sit down. Staff was buzzing around to fast to ask what the system was. We walked outside but only a couple tables but in full sun. So we grabbed a small spot next to the busy path of customer/staff. Nobody was smiling or eager to help us lost newbie's. Not even the nice looking older couple I would assume as the owners. Signage for the ordering area would have been appreciated. We finally realized the beverage area was also for food. We went primarily for ye so called sourdough pizza highly advertised. Little did I know it's one size $40!!! I've never paid more than $30 then to find out it couldn't be modified at all in a restaurant was crazy to us. She said it comes how it comes no other Ingredients available when I asked for onion!? What? We arrived just after 3:00 and saw a sign saying 50% off all pastries on Sundays while paying for our pizza/2 drinks on tap. So I picked a plain croissant and a chocolate croissant that she confirmed were included. I realize a few minutes later just as our pizza arrived that she didn't give the discount on pastries. So I go to counter, same gal and obviously had short memory saying it must have been before 3:00! I said "you just helped me and the 50% off sign was out otherwise I wouldn't have known about it". Another gal was quick to grab the receipt and told me the discount was credited back to my card. The original gal gave no apology even after I said I was glad I checked my receipt. I was wondering why our bill was $75 ! Not that $6 credit made a big difference but honor what is stated. Ok service obviously not impressive, confusing layout for ordering or if it's table service. Then too we find out after getting our pizza that it's self serve for plates/flatwear, condiments, boxes, water. Maybe put big sign inside front door so everything isn't a mystery causing so much confusion which doesn't make for good experience. Ok for the food, the pizza arrives fairly fast, I had just enough time to circle the gift shop area that was OK, too many children items and prices like an airport. Nor specialty foods seemed more appropriate here. The pizza was very good, yes the focaccia crust also very tasty. Could we detect the sourdough that's so talked about? Not really. The Alfredo sauce great, the chicken sparse given the cost, the bacon in my opinion maybe took over the sourdough. Really wanted red onion slivers and/or mushroom. Was it a $40 pizza, not really. At that price we felt like "ok been there done that" type of thing. Now if had been an Alfredo with seafood ( clams, shrimp, bay scallops) people could justify $40. Chicken and bacon pretty inexpensive currently. You're missing the boat not offering seafood sandwiches, salads and pizza. But it can't be higher priced to sell well. I've wanted to have a small salad with the pizza but I wasn't paying $12-18 more! Paying $40 for the pizza should come with a small salad or at least offer $6 green salads when buying the pizza as a combo special. I wanted to love this place but being 3 years old it felt like they were still in opening stages being out of sync. read more

The expression "hidden gem" gets thrown around a lot, but this is one! Such a gorgeous location on the bay, nice people and really amazing pizza. Amazing spot to have a drink while you wait for a pizza to go, or stay and eat there. There is also a grocery if you need, you know, stuff. But we have only gone for the pizza. Sourdough crust, square in shape and truly the best pizza we have had in Kitsap County. Cannot recommend highly enough. Hours are weird and they don't answer the phone, so facebook is apparently the best way to confirm they are open before heading over. It's all about the view. It's nice place to grab a beer, class of wine, or a coffee and stare off into the distance. You may be lucky and see killer whales moving along Colvos Passage. The market also has pizza, snack foods and gifts. The location near the bridge and boat launch make it the hub of the community. They have a nice adjacent building that houses a small community museum that is worth a look. The building that holds the museum can be rented out and frequently holds community events. The owner is frequently there and tries to make everyone welcome. I tongue in cheek complained that they didn't have a hitching post for horses. The owner explained that their food prep license didn't allow farm animals, even though our Norwegian Fjord was the hit of the parking lot. read more

This is a touristy dry goods market (think jams, cute cheese boards, bottles of wine, dish towels, etc) that also has a cafe (sandwiches, baked goods, draft beer, and wine). It's basically the only restaurant in this area, so unless you drive into town, this is kind of it for food. The sandwiches are pretty good, not the best sandwich I've ever eaten but not bad either. The best part is the patio which has a nice view. It's substantially sized and has both covered and uncovered seating areas. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is beautiful, and the staff were knowledgeable and efficient, which made the whole experience even better. They're clearly a popular spot, so parking can get tight -- not their fault, just a sign that everyone else loves it too. I recommend going early. You order and pay at the counter then grab a seat. A runner brings your food, that's the extent of customer service, not bad just non existent. My wife and I drove here to try the pizza which, unfortunately, would not be served for another couple of hours. But it wasn't a wasted trip because before that we checked out exhibit (verging on shrine) to medical quack/swindler/mass murderer Linda Laura Hazzard and her "Starvation Heights sanitarium. The owner of the new Olalla Bay Market, Gregg Olson, wrote a book about the whole thing. He's compiled an extensive collection of photos, actual furnishings, and much more in a room in a building off to the side of the market. I won't go into the story but it was truly fascinating to see and read all of it. The building also contains a room for special events and/or community meetings and offers a beautiful view of Colvos Passage. What gives it an extra local relevance is that the one of the roads you take to the market passes by the site of the burnt ruins of the sanitarium. You can't see anything because it's fenced off and back behind groups of trees. And it's on private property anyway. We also found out that pizza is only served by the $5 slice, which can get pricey real fast. We'd been planning to order a whole pizza and enjoy it outside on the shaded deck. Oh well, not to be. Too bad about the pizza but we loved the exhibit. read more

The aesthetic here is very relaxed and local. The staff was friendly. There was only one person manning the counter, making food and coffee, and putting in salad/charcuterie orders. Everyone was very patient but I kept wondering when another staff member was going to jump in to help. The first time we went, we were searching for some basic food staples for our vacation rental: milk - butter - bread - eggs ... So, we left and went to Albertsons. The second time we went for lunch and had to ask what time the salads et al were available because it's not listed anywhere on the web site, FB, IG, or interior menu. [FYI: It's 11 AM.] I got the caprese salad and my friend got the garden salad. Both were very fresh and tasty and arrived pretty quickly!
