Ginger Shortcake with Matcha Ice Cream!
    Alden C.

Field Bar & Bottle Shop I think is one of the last of the cocktail bars we were trying to catch up on that are on 6th Ave. Steve and I just came here to try the drinks, have some snacks and a dessert so not a full on meal. I am grateful they squeezed us in because it looked like they were full and only had reservations for the empty tables but when they knew we were just snacking they fit us in at a reserved table for an hour. The snacks were really good! We had some awesome spiced nuts and some marinated olives. The olives were fantastic! For the dessert we shared the Ginger Shortcake with Matcha Ice Cream. Really good and unique! The drink I had was from their seasonal part of their cocktail menu and it was so good! It was a drink with horchata foam on the top and it was just out of this world. I tried to get the precise name for this drink for my review but after looking at their menu online their seasonal drinks aren't there. So if you are interested go to the seasonal part on the drink menu and look for the horchata framed drink or ask your server for it. As far as the bottle shop part it's more for wine, sherubs or elixir types of items which is nice because there aren't usually bottle shops with inventory quite like this as it's often beer. So keep that in mind... they don't have bottle of beers here. They do have some it looks like on tap. Looking forward for a return visit and maybe have a full meal. The Brie and Macaroni dish looked great!

Oh. My. GOSH. Best brunch I've EVER had. I got the prosciutto eggs bene w the farm salad; my friend got the french omelet (also w the farm salad) & we split an order of the new bae potatoes. To die for. All of it. The table next to us got the banana bread and based off the smell alone, we'll be getting some next time! The space is SO CUTE and we had the BEST service (Maddie is wonderful!) Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!

Best service I have experienced in so long. It was so refreshing! Love the atmosphere, food was great and I especially loved their natural wine selection. You can tell they really care about where they source their food & drinks from. Highly recommend!

I've been here for dinner but they just opened a brunch (9 am-2 pm) and I had to try it out. Kids are welcome at Field but it's not a kid friendly restaurant really, so brunch is a perfect time for some nice food when you have to bring along a toddler. The place was pretty full when we got in about 10am, but they made a spot for us (toddler wedged in on bench where she couldn't run off!) and we ordered right away. (Note our backup if there was a long wait was gather juice which is right next door!) We got the banana bread (ordered immediately for kiddo), yogurt granola, shakshuka, side of potatoes. Blueberry shrub soda, and water. Would've ordered a side of toast but the server pointed out the shakshuka comes with toast! Toddler liked the banana bread, and we loved our food! I ate far too much - I especially liked the potatoes with the shakshuka. The banana bread is just so kid friendly. My friend liked her yogurt granola bowl! Service was super friendly and it was nice to not feel like a total liability with a kid in tow. Just the right treat for my birthday!

If you're looking for a cozy date night spot in Tacoma, then head over to Field Bar on 6th Ave. We loved the warm, dim lights, welcoming staff, and the seasonal menu was exceptional (recommend the Winter Kale Salad). Definitely make reservations if you'd like a table, or you can try to grab a seat at the bar.

    Mother's Day with yummy starters

For a Pre- Mother's Day appreciation, I took my mom to The Field for our first time, and the experience did not disappoint. The standout of our visit was the impeccable service from (if memory serves me correct ) Irina, who made the meal feel extra special. She was filled with grace and kindness to my mom of 78. We started with apps of featuring hearty toasted sourdough, a pickled plate of veggies, and Hamma Hamma oysters--both were phenomenal, especially with their unique pickled twist (secret that I cannot reveal). I enjoyed an old-fashioned that hit just the right notes. my mom had a gimlet and finished off with it. Odd Chardonnay. We also Tacoma a bottle of Chardonnay, which was really strange, but I enjoyed it better even with the family. With so many tempting dishes on the menu, I'll definitely be returning with family and friends to explore more of what The Field has to offer.

For starters the service at Field is absolutely top notch, every single time we have visited. The entire staff is exceedingly friendly, attentive and informative if you have any questions. They also know how to pair their wines better than maybe anywhere I've ever been. The decor and design is also quite fun, especially if you're a Wes Anderson fan ;) The food is ever changing and always interesting, which we really enjoy. They just started trying out brunch service on the weekends and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered!

The bar and bottle shop is an excellent choice for dinner on 6th ave. The food quality is on par with with Seattle quality, and all the ingredients were clearly top quality. Upon walking in we were quickly greeted by staff, we had a reservation so we were quickly seated. I was there on a Thursday so we probably could have gotten seated without a reservation but the dining room is relatively small so if you're going I would recommend make a reservation ahead of time just in case. They do have bar seating available in a first come first serve basis as well. The decor is all related to out doors themes which goes well the field theme of the restaurant. Over all both my wife and myself really enjoyed our time here and will definitely come again. They have an extensive cocktail list which I didn't get to try this time but will hopefully get to review in my next visit.

    Fresh oysters!

I've been here now four times and each experience has been delicious and fun. Most recently I had some tasty oysters, smooth burrata and a potent cocktail that was also great. The service has been super friendly every time, the staff are interesting and engaging, the atmosphere feels like a neighborhood bistro that you want to return to often and I really appreciate their seasonal offerings. For some feedback some of the dishes are a little heavy on the sauce.

Prosciutto Plate, delicious and beautifully plated.

This place is an absolute gem right in the center of 6th Ave, I've been visiting this place for about a year now and every time I stop in my experience is always 15/10! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming while also keeping a modern and classy aesthetic. If you're looking for an intimate, fine dining experience with a casual vibe and incredible food, Field Bar is absolutely the spot to be. My only recommendation is since the location is rather small, booking reservations before you plan on stopping in! Definitely my favorite spot to go to celebrate any event or just have a really enjoyable date night.

I know they do not have regular open hours for just walk in purchase, but rather, they're custom order type business, but I have yet to place any custom orders so I cannot speak to that experience. What made me write this review is how accurate the owner (Brianne) described cake and desserts in the description and the baked goods taste matched 200% of the description. The pistachio cake was out of the world, so was the whoopie pie!!! I got to meet Brianne in person and she was very friendly, and was kind to explain everything about each of her baked goods she had out that day. I've tried their baked goods from pop tarts to cookies to housemade Twinkie and the creation and taste are unmatched. Single serve baked goods were more on pricier side, but well worth every bite. I would definitely order custom baked goods from here, knowing the quality and taste of products from this shop!!! Currently, you can find Spilled Butter baked goods at Cosmonaut coffee, Outer Dark Coffee, and at Tacoma Farmers Market (also known as Tacoma Broadway Farmers Market) from time to time. Enjoy!!!

Like it or not, she makes her stances known, and I respect the hell out of that. It gives the place real personality. My girlfriend surprised me by bringing me here for my birthday after I'd been wanting to try it for a long time, which made the visit extra special. I will say -- and Haley, I know you read your reviews -- the girl who rang us up was a little snippy, which was a bit disappointing, especially on my birthday. Everything was rung up correctly, but the interaction itself wasn't the warmest. Food-wise though? So good!! I ordered the Fig Papa, which wasn't my first choice, but I was told they couldn't cook the eggs the way I wanted on the dish I originally wanted (which felt a little strange). That steered me toward this as a second choice, and honestly, I'm glad it did -- it was delicious, and I really loved it. I do still wish I could've tried my original pick the way I wanted it, but it is what it is. My girlfriend got the weekly rotating menu item -- a Mediterranean biscuit -- and she really enjoyed it. I didn't try it, but it was a huge portion. And let me just say: the biscuits here are unreal. Biscuits are usually a forgettable side for me -- dry, boring, whatever -- but not these. These are hands down the best biscuits I've ever had in my life, and I've been craving them ever since we left. They also had a seasonal pumpkin horchata, which I absolutely loved. It tasted like pumpkin pie in drink form -- creamy, cozy, and exactly what I wanted. For dessert, I got the cranberry bliss cheesecake, and my girlfriend got the Thin Mint cheesecake. Both were fantastic. Cheesecake can be heavy, so the fact that I basically had multiple dessert off this one piece of cake made me so happy. Despite a small service hiccup, the food, creativity, and overall experience were great. I can't wait to come back and try more items -- especially those biscuits again.
