Cider & Cedar has been on my list for a WHILE now as my husband is an avid cider drinker. Ciders actually aren't my jam, but they have other options and the place is GORGEOUS so I've always wanted to go. We went on a Friday night around 9pm and it was surprisingly pretty dead. We definitely expected a chill/calm vibe, but when we walked in there was upbeat music bumping and the bartender was jamming away. Instantly got us pumped! My husband got a cider flight and was happy with all of the choices. Two of the ciders he got out of four were from a local favorite of his (Cockrell Cider) so he was glad to see some tried and true staples. I got a glass of wine which was also good. My favorite part though is definitely just the atmosphere and how well they did with the space. It's seriously so gorgeous! All of the salvaged wood is stunning and I love the color palette happening here. Highly suggest stopping in for a drink or two to check out this local gem. read more

Stopped in on an evening recently to enjoy a couple of beers and the live music they were presenting that night. We thought that the beers were a mite pricey but, as there was no cover charge, we weren't particularly concerned. However, once the rather nice music started, two things became quickly obvious: one, our fellow attendees were not going to stop talking and/or loudly laughing so that anyone farther than 10 feet away from the musicians could enjoy the music and, two, the cement walls and floors were going to echo the noise of the customers beyond tolerance. We ended up staying for about a half hour until we couldn't stand it anymore and left. We'll likely stop by for music again in the future but, this time, we'll get there early enough to secure a table near the band. Meantime, I'll try to get the sound of those cackling women screaming with laughter out of my head... read more

Attended an evening performance of a friend, was delighted with the comfortable garden, like ambience of cider and cedar. Cedar and cider is a cider focused bar in downtown Tacoma. They have around 10 different ciders on tap as well as some local beers. The bar is nicely decorated with beautiful wooden pieces as a play on their name. The vibe is really friendly and upscale. Probably a place geared more towards people 30+ I went here with my wife for a drink and we both really enjoyed the friendly and quick service as well as the chill atmosphere. I had no idea Cider & Cedar even existed until Steve was going through his Instagram and saw a post by the business. Luckily this discovery fell on a weekend and so we could head over right away to check out a business we haven't visited before. Cider & Cedar does not make their own Cider but the gentleman who was there that worked behind the counter said they hope to. I do too! So it's kind of like then a taphouse for guest ciders which is really cool. We go to several taphouses in town that serve plenty of beer and occasionally have cider on the side but here it's all devoted to local or relatively local cider from guest cideries. A couple cideries I do know and love, Whitewood and Cockrell were on their drink menu as well as a few cideries I didn't know. The atmosphere is super cute as the seating area is sleek but homey and that large piece of cedar behind the bar and off to the side is simply a marvel to look at. Definitely coming back here for more cider and to visit with the very friendly staff! read more

I really liked this new spot in Tacoma! The space is small and cozy which also means limited seats. It was pretty busy on a Saturday night. They had 10 different ciders on tap, I got a tasting tray. The owner was really knowledgeable about all of the ciders. There is also the option to get growlers or bottles to go. They also had a yummy charcuterie board with several different cheeses and meats and fruit. It was the perfect snack. I'll definitely stop by again sometime. read more
