We came with a group of 12. Everyone had a great time. The performers were hilarious and very attentive to their tables. Our server was Batty. The food was good. We were surprised. The best was the parmigiana chicken. The deserts were good. The drinks were really good. Tips: it adds up quick so make sure you prepared for the bill. Also, go to the bank first and get some $1 bills to tip your performers. If you forget, there is an ATM and you can get change from the bartenders. Have fun. read more

Where do I begin? Venue: right in historic motor row. They really focused on maintaining the look and feel while also making it their own. Very spacious (I tend to feel claustrophobic in certain places and this was very comfortable) 10/10 Food: I tend to be skeptical in dinner theater/comedy club settings but the food was top notch and presentation was spot on. 9.75/10 Entertainment: I'm straight but my wife wanted to go and we had a group table. I've done this before but I will say they talent here is truly impressive. The attention to detail and the choreography was top notch. 10/10 Drinks: I'm not into fruity drinks but they did have a decent selection of beer and dewars (sadly no bourbon). 8/10 Overall experience: 10/10 Well done and hope to be back. SUCH a fun place to go to for any occasion. All of the servers/ performers are hilarious and nothing but nice. Despite the busyness of the place, the service was exceptional with our drinks and food coming out almost immediately. They make it extra special for those celebrating birthdays and upcoming marriages. People here are from all ends of the spectrum, so don't think that you would ever not "fit in". We came here on Saturday for my daughters 21st birthday and the place is incredible!!!!!! We had top notch service, the employees are all wonderful and go above and beyond to take care of each and everyone of their guests! The ladies put on an amazing show and work really hard! The food was very delicious and comes out fast and hot! The drinks were very strong and flowing all night just like we like them! Celebrating my Birthday weekend and I enjoyed Lips DRAG show but the negative was the menu for 10+ people there wasn't a variety for people who didn't eat salads are vegetarian options the dessert tray was horrible because the cupcakes and brownies were very hard. The queens were fantastic! The food was very mediocre. And they didn't start performing until 10. I was under the impression that it would be a dinner with a show but the show felt very separate. There was a 20% autograt which kinda sucked because I tipped before knowing that! But the shows were fun. They spent a lot of time talking to bachelorette/birthday people. I'm not sure if it was worth my money but if you're looking for something for a big party it's okay. Not anything crazy special about it but the queens WORK THEIR ASSES OFF. I love lips, I give 5 stars for entertainment 5 stars for drinks but since the pandemic the food has gone downhill. I would give the food a 2-3 stars. Pre pandemic I remember ordering a la cart and the food tasted fresh. Now I get a tiny salad and a burger for 44 dollars on a Friday and a stale mini cupcake. Again the entertainment is excellent. The drinks amazing. The atmosphere and the staff great. The food is not worth the price. When they go back to the old way of doing food maybe I'll come back. read more

We went to "Bitchy Bingo". Lots of fun! You get dinner, a lively drag show and a couple quick rounds of Bingo. Walked away w/ smiles on our faces! Food better than expected. Bring cash, so you can tip the performers as they come thru the crowd ($2-3 per performer -- we spent about $20 on performer-cash tips). Waitstaff came around at the beginning and exchanged our bigger bills for $1's, which was helpful. Parking a bit sketchy but loved the show and would recommend / would go back. read more

Absolutely loved this place! From the decor to the entertainers everything was phenomenal! The only thing I could even say anything a little negative about was the portion size of my salad. This place is really fun and the drinks are GOOD!!! However, the food is mediocre. We started off with a ceaser salad and an appetizer sampler and let me just say that everything was terrible. From salty meatballs, to bland chicken tenders, and even chips with no spinach dip it was supposed to come with. We ended up sending it back and they took it off our bill which was great. The ceaser salad tasted old and wilted. GROSS AF. For my entree I had salmon, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. The only good part of the entree was the asparagus. Salmon was waaaayyyyy overcooked. Salmon should be medium at best. Mashed potatoes were bland and the sauce that came with it tasted super bitter. They need a new chef in that joint. Food should be cooked with heart and soul. And from the taste of things, they have none. I give this place 3 out of 5 stars only because the show was awesome. read more

I loved this place and found it upsetting all at the same time. I had to really think about how to rate this place. Unfortunately a couple wildly inappropriate comments soured the experience (scroll to the end for that explanation), thus 2 stars. Went for a friend's birthday. We were a group of 6 gay men and 2 straight women. First, the positive. The decor is fun and over the top in all the right ways. The drag queens are true artists. Beautiful, well-costumed, well-practiced performers. And I appreciated that they injected a little education, "call us by how we're dressed, not he, him, shim", etc. The food was decent. Not great, but better than expected for a venue pushing out a roomful of plates simultaneously. Downsides: The cocktails weren't good. Sugary, and either too weak or lighter fluid, depending on what you got. I switched to wine, which isn't on the menu but they do have, and got a heavy pour so I was content with that. During the transition toward the end of dinner service through the intro of the show, service slowed/stopped, as the servers also are the performers. They announced that you should raise your hand if you needed anything. Our whole table did that after our drinks had been empty for ~10 minutes, with no response for several minutes until a busser came by and said they would go find a server. Then, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill. I understand automatically adding 10%, or even 15%, but 20% assumes great service. We probably would have tipped that much anyway, but I didn't appreciate the assumption. That, plus the overpriced terrible drinks and dinner came to over $100 per person. For that price we could have had a *great* meal and experience many other places. And last, but probably the thing that left the biggest impression and a sour taste in my mouth: The MC made a big flub and I hope this feedback will get to her so she doesn't do it again. Bachelorettes were called to the stage, and one of the women was wearing a tight dress and was plus-sized. The MC made several comments alluding to her being pregnant ("Holy trailer park what..." as she walked onstage with her drink, then pointing to the woman's belly, "well we can see you've had sex before"). It was highly unlikely this woman was pregnant, as she and her friends were doing shots and drinking cocktails, and after each comment the woman clearly became uncomfortable, gathering and adjusting her dress. For a person who just lectured the crowd on how to address others appropriately to assume this woman was pregnant, and use that for her sassy reading was so incredibly inappropriate, hurtful, and unacceptable. I get that part of the schtick is to insult the crowd, and other than that it was funny... Though the constant "fish" references were overused and are a bit tired. I couldn't overlook the incongruence of people who want to be perceived and referred to as women calling out others who present as women, and the largest queen on stage making derogatory remarks about a woman being pregnant (when she's probably not and you can't possibly know her story). Misogyny isn't a good look, no matter the source. Without that, I really would have enjoyed the show. But I won't be back. Go to Baton or Kit Kat for quality drag shows (and great food at Kit Kat) that are more reasonably priced and have a little better emotional intelligence. read more

Never go to LIPS Chicago! I went there to celebrate for a friends Birthday Dinner, my entire party of 10 paid with cash. The entire bill was 367.52. We have the waitress $276.80 in cash and the rest, $90.72 I told her to put on my card. We waited about 20 minutes for the waitress to bring my card back after we had paid the bill. The next day I check my bank account to reconcile my purchases for the week I had seen that I had been charged $190.72. I have been calling the restaurant EVERYDAY and leaving voicemails since Wednesday night. No one has yet to get back to me or even pick up the phone. This is completely unacceptable and EXTREMELY horrible costumer service from an establishment that has been open only such a short amount of time. I will no longer be patronizing this establishment and suggest anyone who does please check your bank accounts as you have been also taken advantage of. read more

My wife made reservations for her birthday on Friday, Sept. 27th for a party of six, for the 1st show. That night it was constant rain (intermittent light to moderate). Therefore, it would have been nice if the venue had a waiting area prior to the show; nevertheless once the doors were opened, there is a tiny entrance area prior to entering the restaurant. The inside as described by my wife "looks like a doll house". The female impersonators, was as expected over-the-top female... off to a good start. We order a manhattan and old fashion prior to being seated, as we waited for the rest of our guest to arrive. My manhattan was mediocre, while my wife's was cherry juice with some alcohol... not sure what the bartender was trying to make, however that too was not a deal breaker. Our party arrived and also order drinks from the bar, prior to us being seated. Our server from the on set, seemed not to be having a good night or perhaps it was just "her" demeanor... that too wasn't a deal breaker. The food was average, however I was told by my wife and her friend the fries were great. During the show a round of drinks were ordered, and a few minutes after receiving the drinks, my wife's cousin started to slightly slur her words. She and rest of us didn't think too much of it, but by the end of the show she was in full out drunk mode. She even commented "I only had two drinks". As we were existing the establishment, I was holding her up and walking her to her husband's car. Still not thinking too much of it, because they were heading straight home. The next morning (Saturday), my wife texted the party to thank them for coming out to celebrate with them. By late evening we, received a call from her cousin, who had been admitted into the hospital Friday night, because she was incapacitated and was rushed to the hospital by her husband and son, because she non-responsive after getting in the car. The result of blood test showed, she had methamphetamine was found in her system. This news eclipsed all that was mediocre, average, and fun about the evening; because this couple is probably one of the squarest individuals... no drugs, moderate drinkers, and my wife cousin also has health concerns. Knowing that her 2nd drink was accidentally spiked with drugs, is not only terrifying for us, but should be a cautionary warning for anyone patronizing this establishment. It pains me to write this review, because I believe this is a good attraction to the area, but management needs to know someone on there staff is not operating in the business' best interest. read more

The inside is drop dead gorgeous. And the host of the show is amazing! Love that they keep the same entertainers. Makes it feel vegasy. Unfortunately, this was my second time going (once in September and another this past weekend). BOTH times that I called to make reservations the person on the phone was insanely rude (and yes it was always the same person). Always came off like they're doing me a favor by taking my business. Doesn't create a welcoming vibe especially when the last time we went we spent $543. The food is not too great, and their dessert platter tastes like they paid a visit to jewels bakery section. I don't think I will be going back. I've been to the Kit Kat for years and have always had nothing but great experiences.
