I have mixed feelings about this place and wish I had read the reviews beforehand. I walked 15 minutes from my job to meet some girlfriends for my birthday gathering. Upon arrival, I discovered that there was no restroom available for customers. The consultant informed me that I would need to walk across the street to use the restroom. It seemed very inconsiderate for a business to create a 2-hour experience without providing basic amenities like a restroom. This left a bad impression. Even McDonald's provides a restroom for its patrons, and their prices are much lower. My friends spent well over $200 and wasn't able to use their restroom, as theirs is for employees only.
Additionally, I was asked if we were celebrating anything, and while the initial consultant wished me a happy birthday and drew a balloon on my card, that was the extent of the birthday acknowledgment. I expected that if a company inquires about a celebration, they might offer something special to mark the occasion. Even a small gesture like a travel-size gloss, balm, or a discount on select items would have been appreciated. Instead, I received nothing that made me feel special.
As a person of color, my friends and I had the pleasure of working with Trish, who was fantastic. She helped us find something we liked right away. A knowledgeable consultant who can match lipstick colors to your skin tone is a crucial part of this experience. Unfortunately, the person I was initially paired with was disengaged and made the experience unpleasant. She walked away a few times to assist other guests without informing me she would be right back, and I almost left without purchasing a lipstick until I was able to consult with Trish.
Overall, the experience was decent, but I expected to be more involved in mixing and making the lipstick. Instead, the consultant handles all the mixing and forming. The highlight of the experience was naming the product and having it laser-etched onto the item.
My friends spent approximately $112 on my lipstick, lip gloss, and liner. I didn't even receive a free lip brush as advertised on their website. Given the price and the lack of basic amenities, I'm not sure if I would return. It's quite expensive, and I could get a similar lipstick from Ulta or Sephora for less, with the added benefit of a restroom. read more
