    Regular roast beef meal
    Sara L.

It's fast food and I had a great quick experience here. They were having a customer appreciation day and had sent a coupon so I went specifically for that. Hubby ended up getting a combo in addition. The roast beef was hot and delicious, the tangy bbq is the BEST, the fries were crispy and delicious. I treated myself to a mini dipped cone and it was an amazing end to my quick meal. Tables were all clean, service was quick and they were prepared with a laminated coupon they were able to scan for the promo. That helped keeping the line moving quickly! I'd stop again for a roast beef meal :)

I think I'm at an all around basic for this restaurant. It reminded me of Arbys water down to basics. Flying in late and was hungry, so stopped by what seemed to catch my attention at the Ian's was close to the hotel. I received my meal in more than a reasonable drive thru time., once I was ready to eat, I noticed I was not given any napkins in my bag. The outside premises was kept clean and the service was okay, no one was rude. If I had another long day and really didn't want to stop anywhere else to eat I would give another try and probably choose another menu option..

A good size dining room helps when this location gets busy at peak times.

Near a popular shopping area this LC is busy at peak dining times. However, there's plenty of seating and the large parking lot can handle crowds. This St. Louis chain focuses on roast beef and does it so well it doesn't need a huge menu. There are a only handful of non-roast beef sandwich and salad options available.

Since I didn't grow up in St. Louis I had no idea what Lion's Choice was when I moved into the area. I was familiar with Arby's though and it became clear pretty immediately that Lion's Choice is in that vein. I've only gone to Lion's Choice a couple times and I will admit that it is almost never for the roast beef. Instead our family goes for the mini cones. Man, what a treat. For 0.50 to 0.75 you can get a mini cone plain or dipped in chocolate. It is a perfect when you need a treat. My son loves it. So I can say the food is fine, exactly what you would expect, but the mini-cones are just top notch.

I really love the Roast Beef at Lion's Choice. The flavor isn't just the meat but the seasoning they use on it as well as adding the Horsey sauce and BBQ sauce. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The employees are super friendly and they love hearing that we have driven all the way from Central Florida just to eat there. The restaurant is clean and the food is fast and fresh. The parking lot is a bit awkwardly shaped but that is so minor once you bite into that sandwich. Happy Dining!

I love Lion'sChoice! The roast beef is thinly sliced and not over cooked and they don't skimp on the meat. The horseradish sauce actually has heat and flavor. I rarely eat fast food but Lion's Choice consistently delivers quality food for a reasonable price. I hope the expansion doesn't ruin it.

Large Pulled pork, southern style (it's the coleslaw).

We were 11th in line when we signed up, and by the time we arrived, we had moved up to 5th. Since it was raining, we decided to wait in the car. When we reached 3rd in line, we were unexpectedly removed from the waitlist. I tried calling the phone number listed on Yelp, which was the same number displayed on the building, but it went straight to what sounded like a personal cellphone voicemail. We decided to go inside anyway and discovered the waitlist wasn't necessary because there were plenty of tables available. The menu had a lot of interesting options, although I wish it included photos of the dishes. We ordered the Hawaiian Bowl, the Truffle Burger, and what I believe was the Blueberry Jam Burger, along with regular fries and sweet potato fries. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, and each bun was stamped with the Circle 7 branded logo, which was a nice touch. The Hawaiian Bowl was delicious and generously portioned. I had enough left over for another meal. The atmosphere is definitely more of a sports bar than a traditional restaurant. Every wall seemed to have multiple TVs, making it easy to watch the soccer matches from just about anywhere in the dining room. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and checked on us several times throughout the meal. Before leaving, we couldn't decide on just one dessert, so we ordered the dessert sampler. The cobbler was the standout--it tasted homemade, especially the crust, and all of the desserts were served with ice cream. The only disappointment was the brownie, which was quite hard instead of soft and fudgy. Overall, we enjoyed the food and the service. The only downside was the confusing Yelp waitlist experience, which could definitely use some improvement.

Our server was really friendly and quick. She checked in on us often and gave some helpful recommendations. We ordered drinks and a couple of apps to share, and she left us a full bottle of cold water, which was such a nice touch. We got the pretzel monkey bread, french fries (the best) and the artichoke bean dip. We weren't planning to stay for dinner, just wanted some snacks. The food came out fast and honestly looked too good to wait on. I loved the monkey bread, the pretzel bites had a great crisp to them, and the sauces they served with it were really good. The bean dip was good too, just not as much my thing since I'm not a big fan of dill, so I left most of that for everyone else. It turns out we've been driving past a Kirkwood treasure all this time. This is "upscale-casual" at its finest--professional and refined, but with a neighborhood heart. Service & Logistics The service here is exceptionally polished. From the friendly hosts to our knowledgeable server, everything ran like clockwork. We even had a visit from a gentleman I presume was the owner (likely Bob, who has been at the helm for decades). He didn't just "check-in"--he saw we needed a few items and personally took care of it. Pro Tips: * Reservations: Don't look for them on OpenTable. They use their own dedicated form on their website, which is simple and efficient. * Wednesday Wine: If you can, visit on a Wednesday. They offer half-priced wine bottles with your meal--a fantastic value for their extensive collection. Cocktails & Drinks The bar program here is excellent, and the bartender was friendly and engaging. * White Negroni (4.5/5): Though they may not have had Suze (the drink wasn't perfectly clear), the bartender absolutely nailed the flavor profile and balance. * Barrel-Finished Manhattan (4.5/5): Their use of an in-house barrel finish makes this classically executed cocktail a real standout--highly recommended for whiskey lovers. * Wine: They have an awesome selection. Definitely ask your server for recommendations! The Food: American Fare with a Global Twist * House Salad (4.5/5): You have to try their house dressing--it's a creamy garlic style that reminds me of the classic Mayfair Hotel dressing. It's incredibly tasty and a true St. Louis staple. * Blackened Grouper (4.5/5): As someone who loves Florida grouper, this hit the mark. Lightly blackened with a fresh mango salsa; vibrant and perfectly executed. * Rainbow Trout (4.25/5): The orange tarragon cream sauce is the star. It was perfectly balanced--enough to enhance the fish and rice without being "soupy." * Pilot House Chicken (4.5/5): A delicious, well-seasoned chicken breast. Savory, juicy, and very well-prepared. * Extras (5/5): They start you with lavash crackers and butter, and the hot, fresh rolls are dangerous. They even finish the night with powdered sugar cookies--a classic Sunset 44 touch. Dessert * S'more Cheesecake & Chocolate Martini (4.5/5): We opted for this beautifully executed, unique dessert. It was yummy on its own, but ordering a Chocolate Martini to accompany it was the perfect move. The Vibe: It definitely skews toward a more mature, quiet crowd. It's the perfect place if you actually want to hear the people you're dining with.
