A deli steakhouse with a beautiful, romantic interior. Great service, delicious steaks, and good vibes. Came here for a celebration and I thought the service was great. Food was good but had some miss dishes in my opinion. Here's what we got: Cocktails 5/5 - Got a cocktail (can't remember what), but I always tell my server my palette and go on based of their recommendation. I like cocktails with a sweeter, refreshing profile. Caesar salad 5/5 - My favourite thing that I ate here. The salad was so fresh, appetizing and topped with chicken skin. I still think about this delicious salad daily! Bone In NY Strip 5/5 - Dry aged, Angus Penokean Hills striploin. We like our meat medium rare with it being just a tad tad bit more on the rare side. We told our server this and our steak came out rare which was still okay. The meat was great and tasty! Linny's cut pastrami 3/5 - This was highly recommended by our server and told us we can get a half portion which we are glad we did. It's hand sliced, served with mustard and pickles. I don't think this was that good at all and felt pretty average. I would definitely skip on this next time. Fries 5/5 - These were cooked and salted perfectly. Would get this again. Overall, a great dining experience with great food!

First time trying Linny's Toronto tonight. Highly recommend reservation and be on time because they only hold on the table for 10 mins. Ordered tiger prawns, 20oz ribeye and finish off with the chocolate babka. We like the service and food. Only complaint is the medium rare ribeye is a bit overcooked. I like the tiger prawns, very favorable. Definitely will come back for the lamb neck, dill salmon, chicken liver toast and pasta.

Linny's offers a tasting menu that thoughtfully elevates classic European Jewish dishes into a refined fine-dining experience without losing their identity. The brisket easily holds its own against the best old-school Jewish delis. The chicken liver toast was particularly memorable, triggering genuine childhood memories rather than simply delivering flavour. The challah service was warm and comforting, and the Caesar salad -- made with chicken skins instead of bacon -- was a smart, well-executed reinterpretation. The steak was excellent, though the emotional core of the meal lies in the heritage dishes. It's hard to screw up a good steak. Desserts were restrained and well balanced, closing the meal with confidence rather than excess. Service was polished and professional, exactly what you'd expect from a high-end dining room. Linny's succeeds at something rare: honouring deeply familiar food while presenting it with precision, restraint, and genuine respect.

Linny's has been one of the most talked-about openings in Toronto since September 2024. In under a year, it landed at No. 52 on Canada's 100 Best and No. 13 on the Top 50 Best Steak Restaurants in the USA & Canada. Behind it is David Schwartz, whose restaurants--Sunny's and MIMI Chinese--are already fixtures in the city's dining conversation. Expectations were understandably high. The atmosphere sets the tone from the moment you enter. A mid-century interior with European brasserie influence, terrazzo floors, warm ambient lighting, and restrained wood accents create a sense of continuity rather than spectacle. Servers are sharply dressed in white with black bowties and aprons, attentive without hovering, confident without excess. Corduroy banquettes and leather-bound menus feel intentional rather than nostalgic pastiche. The space is assured of its own identity. The beverage program reinforces that confidence. The wine list is impressive, but the cocktail menu is where the personality shows. We started with the Café Negroni, a minimalist blend of an espresso martini and a classic Negroni. Bright orange notes cut cleanly through dark coffee bitterness. Balanced, uncomplicated, crafted to leave an impression. However, that calibration begins to slip once the food arrives. The house salad is simple to the point of exposure: gem lettuce, cucumber, bulgur, and champagne vinaigrette. The bulgur adds welcome texture, but the vinaigrette leans sharply acidic. With just 4 ingredients, there isn't much room for error. At $19, it reads less as restraint and more as a missed adjustment. The Ora King salmon follows a similar pattern. Often referred to as the "wagyu of the sea," it's prized for its fat content and softness, qualities that justify its cost. Here, those qualities are largely muted. The cure firms the fish without adding dimension, and the latkes--overly crisp and under-seasoned--do little to support it. Curing makes sense when it concentrates flavor or improves texture; with Ora King, it feels misapplied, as if the name alone is doing the work. The dish also lacks acidity, something that could have grounded the richness and clarified its intent. The chicken liver toast is more convincing. The pâté is rich and well-seasoned, with cured egg adding depth and umami. Still, restraint slips again. An excess of fried onions pushes the dish toward sweetness, masking the savoury depth that should be at its heart. By the time the steak arrives, expectations have shifted. The 20 oz bone-in ribeye from Blue Dot Reserve is wet-aged, grass-fed, and finished with pastrami butter. The rationale is sound: reintroducing fat where grass-fed beef lacks it. In practice, the beef is clean and well-seasoned, with the smokiness from the butter doing most of the talking. It's good beef. But beyond that smoke, it doesn't develop. Nothing lingers. Nothing surprises. At $136, it's fair value, but value isn't the same as impact. Then comes the Concord grape sorbet, and the room snaps back into focus. Bright, precise, and layered: grape jelly depth, fresh acidity, stewed fruit, and liquid-nitrogen cream. Playful but disciplined, and easily the most memorable dish of the night. Linny's has accomplished a great deal in a short time. The space is well-designed, the team is capable and the ambition is clear. During this visit, the execution didn't live up to the vision, but the foundation is real. As it stands: 3.95 / 5. This feels less like a finished statement than a restaurant still calibrating itself -- one clearly worth watching.

This place is amazing. The food is top notch. We had pastrami, chicken toast, NY strip and mushrooms. Everything was great and hard to say which was the best dish. Service is good. Vibe is upscale.

I felt transported as soon as I walked into Linny's. The soft jazz and diner format were welcoming, in addition to the kind service. We ordered the following: - Challah Service - Fluke and Fennel - Roasted Lamb Neck - Caraflex Cabbage - Chocolate Babka and Vanilla Ice Cream We would love to try their staple sandwiches in the future, so we did not order any steak this time round. Challah Service is a must from the appetizers, and the cabbage was a nice surprise as well. A nice touch were the recipes by Linny around the restaurant. This was a nice "treat yourself" kind of meal.

    Lamb neck and pastrami.

Always wanted to go here and glad we finally did. Started off with the Caesar salad which was nice. It comes with crispy pork belly which is a nice touch. Also had the pastrami as an appetizer and it was very good. Had the lamb neck as another appetizer and it was excellent. Good portion as well. This was the highlight of the meal T-bone was ok. Good size. Mushroom side was a nice and crunchy version. Definitely use the dip Potato side was excellent. Pickle wise had 4 different pickles which is unique and a good acid offset to the unctuousness of the meats. Nebbiolo wine was great and reasonably priced. Service was quality and high end tilted. Decor was beautiful and upscale.

    Bone-in Ribeye 18 oz

Genuinely one of the best restaurants I've ever had. The vibe is a modern, elegant, dark and intimate. Every single dish was completely incredible and if you go there without ordering tiger prawns, you made the wrong decision. I really wanted to try the pastrami and a cut of steak, so our waitress allowed us to order a half portion of the pastrami. We paired that with the bone-in ribeye. I will be missing this meal for years to come. Linny's is perfect for a date night, celebrating a birthday, or just enjoying an incredible meal with your family or friends.

Was excited to try this spot since it's run by the same team as MIMI and Sunny's so expectations were high. Interior's gorgeous, and service was great right from the start. Challah was soft and fluffy, the cheese + jam spread was nice and light. Pickles weren't super crunchy but it was still a solid starter. Loved the salmon--super flaky and light, paired really well with the cream cheese and latkes. Lamb neck was rich and tender, no gaminess, though the big bone makes it look bigger than it is. Pastrami was also great. It was soft, juicy, and well-seasoned, just a bit small for the price. Chicken had good texture, sauces were fun (fermented honey and hot sauce), but it didn't stand out as much compared to the other dishes. Drinks were solid. BMP was tart and light, not too spirit-forward. Strawberry sbagliato was nice if you're into wine-y spritzes.

Cocktails were bomb 10/10 it's rare to find a place where both the food and cocktails are on point

From the second I entered Linny's, I felt transported. The interior strikes a balance between cozy and refined, with an intimate dining room that feels both classic and elevated. Soft jazz set the tone, and the diner-inspired format made the space feel relaxed elegance rather than formal. Walking in and dining there felt very romantic, perfect for Valentine's Day dinner. We did the special prix fixe menu with a few upgrades. The restaurant was full, but it still felt intimate and not overly loud. Most guests were dressed up, which added to the celebratory atmosphere. We upgraded to the ribeye and added Osetra caviar. The ribeye cooked medium rare, was perfect. It was tender, deeply flavorful, and seasoned well enough that I did not feel the need to add salt. It may honestly be one of my favorite steaks I have had in the city. The mortadella was another standout and something I would absolutely order again. In hindsight, I might choose the chicken skin & caviar over the caviar upgrade, as they just added caviar to the salmon and you could barely taste it, but that is personal preference. We also got the house salad, though next time I would likely try the Caesar. The house salad was refreshing and a nice palette cleanser in between the meat dishes. Cocktails were excellent. I had a blueberry sour, and he ordered a sake-based cocktail. Both were balanced and well executed. We also got wine with the steak and they recommended a wine I thought was wonderful. I like sweeter wines, I have included the picture of the wine. Dessert was a highlight. The hazelnut and chocolate opera cake was so delicious and not too sweet. I ordered decaf espresso just for the dessert as I love the combo of something delectably sweet paired with black coffee. I always appreciate the combination to complete a meal. Even with a full dining room, the service was warm and attentive, which made the whole room feel even more inviting. Linny's genuinely impressed me. This is one of the stronger dining experiences I have had in Toronto and somewhere I am excited to return to. 5 stars!!!

Linny's, a deli steakhouse, located where the Home Hardware used to be along the Ossington Strip, is David Schwartz's newest restaurant. No stranger to Mimi and Sunny's Chinese, Linny's takes a completely new direction where Schwartz goes back to his culture and roots. The restaurant is named after Schwartz' mother, Linda (aka Linny), as she passed away when Schwartz was young. The menu consists of many Eastern European dishes along with steaks of course. The space is completely transformed - think NYC old school steakhouse - classic, intimate, and inviting at the same time without feeling too pretentious. The space is also adorned with handwritten pages of Linny's recipe book, which can be found when you enter the space as well as in the washrooms. The space is divided into the bar section when you enter the restaurant where the tables are to the back of the restaurant along with the kitchen. Reservations are highly recommended as the restaurant will likely not be able to accommodate you if you walk in. Just a tip...reservations often come up a day or two before a date or even the day of so...just keep searching and trying! You do need to put in your credit card to secure the reservation or be fined a certain amount if you cancel late or no show. My friend and I dined at Linny's on a week day night where we were able to secure a reservation for the bar. We were tucked in the corner of the bar which felt intimate enough as we didn't have customers or staff walking behind us. Upon arrival, we were asked if we wanted our coats/bags checked and shown to our seats. The waiter/bartender greeted us and took us through the menu, often giving us an idea of what we could order between 2 people. They have this neat "Friday Night Special" (priced at $125 per person) as well where the chefs curate a unique dining experience for you. In terms of drinks, I opted for a glass of a cab sauv from California; my friend had a cocktail called the B.M.P. We opted to get several dishes to share. We had the following items: - Caesar salad (chicken skin, parmesan, caraway) - Chicken liver toast (cured egg, fried onion, and pickle on top of Dear Grain sourdough) - Linny's cut pastrami (hand sliced, served with mustard and pickles from Martin Family Farm) - Tripe schnitzel (chicken gravy, chive, lemon) - Pickle plate - French fries - Chocolate babka and vanilla ice cream for dessert We were stuffed after our meal. All the menu items tasted delicious but the highlights for me were the pastrami and the chicken liver toast. That pastrami is definitely a must get if you come to Linny's! Although it is a bit pricey ($49)...the 5-6 pieces of sliced meat you get was so tender where the meat literally melted in my mouth. It also took no effort to cut and you can tell that the chef/owner took time to perfect the recipe of this cut of meat. The spices worked well together where it never overpowered the flavour of the pastrami. I really enjoyed the pastrami here (and I'm not even a fan of pastrami to begin with!) - pssst..the pastrami also goes through a 7 day process before it is served at the restaurant. The liver toast was divine - it wasn't too rich and the cured egg, fried onion, and pickles added a different flavour profile to the entire piece of toast. In terms of the other dishes, the caesar salad was extremely fresh and the chicken skin worked with this particular dish. Moreover, the tripe was interesting (I'm no stranger to tripe having eaten it at dim sum growing up). The way it was prepared is something we've never seen and the schnitzel was coated well. Although the texture of the tripe is completely different than what I imagined (it was more soft), the subtle taste of the tripe was still present. Lastly, the pickled plate was great (loved the pickled tomatoes!) and the chocolate babka is a must get (perfect with the vanilla ice cream on top). Service wise, the staff were attentive, friendly, and professional. We never felt rushed during our meal and we appreciated that they checked up on us from time to time. When I made my reservation it stated that we had a 2 hr seating limit but...we actually almost stayed until 3 hours. Linny's is an experience...a beautiful glimpse into the chef/owner's cultural roots, a tribute to his mother and the food she and his grandparents grew up eating and cooking. Food, service, and vibes were top notch - definitely an experience to celebrate a special occasion with friends or family.

    Chicken liver

Great experience, both food and people watching. Started with the chicken liver on toast, which is a pate for those turned off by the name. It was probably my favorite dish, the crispy onions on top made it truly special with many different flavors, great taste and a fantastic finish. A close second was the asparagus side, lade with bresola and a hollandaise esque sauce. Everything came together quite well and it was a plate licker. I also enjoyed the pastrami, very tender with a nice taste but I don't know if I'd call it my favorite pastrami ever. Will definitely return.

Made a reservation 30 days in advance for dinner on a Sunday night and we were able to get a 8 pm reservation. It is known as a steak restaurant so we ordered the bone in ribeye. For starters, we had the challah service which was excellent and the fluke and fennel carpaccio which was excellent. The ribeye was cooked well. The lamb was ok but nothing outstanding. The pastrami was amazing and was definitely the best item that we tried. It is a definite must have. The mushrooms were good and the porter ok. The chocolate babka was amazing and the gingerbread trifle was good but sweet. The service was excellent from the beginning when checking in to the end of the night. Our server was amazing and so helpful. He was courteous and respectful and provided great advice diplomatically. The restaurant is not large but very cozy as there were many small round booths.

I have been to the Sutton Place hotel many times since I have friends living in the condos there, but this was a first to settle in to this beautiful heritage building dining room and take in the ambiance and vibe. It's a great location being right at the corner of Blue Jays Way and King with a nice view of the streetscape through the large windows, yet set back comfortably from the action outside. The evening in January brought some fluffy lazy snow dropping out of the sky which added to the drama of the view and the added context for our meal extravaganza that was coming for us. Check out my photos for the menu items that we tried, all ordered a la carte and from the menu for January 2026 that I have also included in my review. When each dish arrives, the server describes what it is which is nice. But with a larger table, a typical noisy din on a busy Saturday evening, often diners can't hear or understand what was said. Some of us would appreciate if the servers would slow down, and make sure we heard more clearly what we were in store for with each amazing dish. Otherwise, our service was great! The asians at the table appreciated the tea served in the typical familiar glass teapots when I asked what they wanted to drink, knowing that they were not into beer or cocktails like westerners, or even the other typical non-alcoholic beverages available. That helped make them happy with hanging out for an extended time in the fine dining tradition. We did have to ask for the servers to keep the tea flowing to our table, since that is part of the idea and the shared experience that needed inclusivity. The server explained that the menu was a mediterranean sharing menu, so we felt like we were a family. The free flowing tea dove-tailed nicely with that theme. It was a bit of a learning experience for the Abrielle staff to see that hey, we needed more tea cups and more tea for everyone!! Not just the teetotallers in the group, us beer drinkers want to be included too : ) When we turned down the dessert options it was a nice VIP touch that they brought out a little bite of a matcha mousse sweet at the end which was super tasty! Fantastic and highly recommended.

The space is a blend of lounge, high tables and a stylish bar that really stands out. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We ordered Oysters and cocktails from the Happy Hour while we were getting ready for our 5-course Chef's Menu. Perfect way of starting my birthday dinner. The chef's menu features a delightful mix of Mediterranean-inspired dishes; full of flavour and beautifully presented. We enjoyed every bite and the dessert bites were the perfect finish to our meal. The delicious slice of Saffron Cheesecake was a delicious birthday surprise.
