I had a veggie sandwich with a bowl of sweet potato curry soup and small side garden salad. Afterward, I took an oat milk latte to go as I departed for the rocky mountains. The sandwich was good and garden salad pretty standard, but with an excellent house made ranch dressing. The true star of the show was the sweet potato curry soup! OMG YUM! I was only in town for 2 hours while passing through, but if I lived here, I'd be tempted to get this soup every single day. If I had the recipe, I'd make vats of this at home. This deli did not take my daughter's allergy seriously and she ended up sick. I told the cashier about her egg allergy. He said the hot dog was safe. I then asked separately about the bun. He said again it was safe for an egg allergy. He did not check a bag or anything, but confidently said he knew there was no egg. I then told him to please tell the food prep team about her egg allergy, just to be sure. He said he would. She ate the hot dog and got sick. I called and the woman who answered the phone told me there is egg in the hot dog bun. The employee never checked and clearly never told the food prep team about my daughter's allergy. Thankfully she is now okay, but this could have been far worse. TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES TO CHECK INGREDIENTS AND TO TAKE ALLERGIES SERIOUSLY. This was completely unacceptable and negligent. I got one of their New Yorker sandwiches and that was pretty good. Definitely worth the price. The description included hot peppers, but it was almost like a giardinera, really good. Anyway I also got the matzah ball soup, and that my friends is a crime against humanity. The soup had quality ingredients but it smelled like chicken blood. You can often interact with the staffers from Lindsay's as they sample their Haagen Daz ice cream quite frequently just outside their door on Pearl Street - yummy! I've walked by many times and am always curious to read what their sandwich special of the day is. I finally made it in for a $7 turkey and bacon sandwich late last week. Walking in I was impressed by the renovations that had been performed. The space is spacious, clean, and open. Along the left side are seemingly dozens of ice creams and cakes, along the right is a sandwich and soup operation. With a cup of soup being just a couple of dollars added onto a sandwich I decided to go for the Boar's Head chili. While it was a bit of a wait for my soup and sandwich they were well worth the wait. The sandwich was exquisite! The bacon was well done (as requested), the layers of turkey were bursting with flavor, and the tomatoes, onion, and lettuce added a bit of fresh crunchiness. The chili was also out of this world. Well spiced and super flavorful - I hardly loaded on the hot sauce (and I'm a glutton for hot sauce). Overall this was an awesome experience.
