I should have listened to the Yelp reviews instead of trusting the fake 5-star ones on Google. Big mistake. AHS sent this company after I placed a service request for a few broken items (all of which had lasted over 10 years). They claimed the issue was caused by force, leading to a denial of my claim. After dealing with this company, I got second opinions from other contractors with great Yelp reviews. They all confirmed the problem was just normal wear and tear. This company lied about it. When I asked them to provide a detailed explanation in writing, they refused and only sent photos. The guest bathtub faucet was also leaking, and when I showed it to their technician, he said, "This is normal." Excuse me? I had other contractors look at it, and they all agreed it needed to be fixed. The woman at the front desk was rude and even made up stories during our conversation (saying something like we slammed the faucet on the counter, which is how it broke). To make matters worse, they tried to charge me over $800 to replace a sink stopper, which is ridiculous. This company is dishonest, unprofessional, and overpriced. The work is average, but the payment process is horrendous. I work in cyber security and there is a very good chance your information and money will be stolen based on how they process payment. First, they invoice, work, and process payment out of order. With their system, their number can be easily cloned and a customer can have their information stolen before the work is even completed. Also, they use a phone/voice system which is impossible to encrypt. There are much safer plumbing services out there. But, the actual work is ok, so that's a positive. read more

It's appalling that this company is still in business and AHs is still using them as an affiliated service vendor. My tankless water heater was leaking and Lindsay sent out a plumber and assessed the leak. They provided me a $4500 quote to replace a $500 water heater from Home Depot. I have asked AHS and Lindsay for a detailed invoice on what is being replaced and have not since received anything from them or AHS. Lindsay stated that I needed and expansion unit installed in order for my water heater not to leak in the future due to the pressure. I even called Rheem the tankless water heater company and they stated that their tankless system doesn't require no such unit. read more

I would NOT give Lindsay Company even a one. This used to be an honest company. Now, as usual with the AHS contractors, instead of doing the job we called for, the rep tried to upcharge us for "uncovered" items (wrong) and said a tree root must have broken our pipe overnight. We just needed a snake for flushed baby wipes. My husband explained there was no dirt in our tub, no sign of soil, etc., but he refused to snake the line, instead wanted to charge us around $400 to run a camera. We called Mr. Plumber, who came immediately, snaked our line, pulled out a bunch of baby wipes and went on his way. Call MR.PLUMBER if you need plumbing assistance - they actually come out, do the job and charge a fair price. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. So, I noticed some small water damaged in the sheetrock in the entry of my home. I contacted my American Home Shield who contracted The Lindsay Co. They sent out Andrew with Lindsay the next day. Andrew came out took pictures and said I had a leak in my attic behind my AC Unit. He left with and said they he would contact AHS for permission to fix the pipe and he said he'd let me know result. I never heard anything after a day so I contacted AHS who said the request was closed. They said that Andrew responded that there were no leaks. I told them that he said it needed to be repaired or replace quickly as he saw that the previous owner had used flexseal to repair a pinhole on my galvanized pipe. I contacted Lindsay CO and they said they'd email me a quote to repair the leak and a quote to replace all pipes but I got an email saying I had no leaks so I called AHS again and they tried to reach back out to Lindsay for more detail and said they finally got a person to answer and the lady was rude to them so after 6 days of calling everyday with no response from the company, AHS and myself gave up. AHS has agreed to use another contractor. I would not recommend them from my experience. Pic's attached. Clearly there is a leak. I'm just glad I have a home warranty and home owners insurance but this could've been fixed before damage started occurring in my home as it has gotten worse. Keep searching and read reviews. He said he would need to step outside because there is an issue with my contract being cancelled, mind you I just closed on my home on 05/09. If I could give no stars, I would. So, my gas was turned off and I had to relight the pilot in my water heater. I noticed the ignitor was not creating a spark. I contacted AHS who contracted The Lindsay Co. They sent out one of their plumber. He tried to light the water heater and said it wouldn't spark which I already knew. He said he can replace the ignitor but it's not the same part. I asked him shouldn't it be replaced with the same part from the manufacturer, he said I would have to call the manufacture if I want the right part and replace it myself when I receive the replacement part. At this point I had no choice since I'm without hot water for over a week. He then proceed on to replace the ignitor with one he had which still didn't work. Then he said that the vent hood is leaking and rusted that's why I'm not getting gas which I disputed while he was here. I pointed out there are no rust or leaks anywhere and that I was getting gas and it was working prior to the gas being turn off. He was in such a rush to leave he didn't troubleshoot, didn't make any attempts to do anything else. He said would contact the manufacturer regarding the part and said he'd let me know result and he left. Then I got an urgent email from AHS that there are limitations associated with approving my request. So I contacted AHS who said the request was closed. They said that the plumber responded that due to secondary damages from leak vent hood and rust that's why it won't light. Even if it was rusted my contract clearly stated that it was covered. The ignitor that he replaced is shocking my hand when it's press, I'm not an expert but I don't think I should be shock when I use the ignitor. I'm very frustrated that the technician didn't do anything and left and wrote up the findings in a manner so it would covered him for not doing the repair. Now I have to pay another fee to have AHS send a different company to come out to do the job that he didn't. If you're researching them - reconsider. I would not recommend them from my experience. American Home Shield sent this company to fix my toilet leak problem. I knew what the problem was. The upper bowl had developed a crack. The Lindsay repair tech tried to tell me it was cracked because of excessive force. This couldn't be further from the truth. This toilet is in a master bathroom used by my wife and I. Neither one of us is strong enough to crack 1" thick porcelain. I told the technician that he was wrong there was no excessive force and he had no evidence to believe it to be true. This technician decided on his own with his advanced CSI degree that this is how the upper bowl become cracked and that is how he reported it to America Home Shield. The technician basically ensured that American Home Shield would not repair my toilet by telling them it was caused by excessive force. This is a complete lie. Don't bother to call this company. They just make stuff up so that they don't have to do warranty work. Basically they just want to get back out there to fix these frozen pipes so that they can charge an excessive amount. The repair man even asked did I have any busted pipes and he told me that the repair costs starts at $400. Warranty work doesn't compare when there is disaster recovery work that they can charge an unlimited amount for. This company has no integrity at all. Don't let them in your house. AHS sent this company out to fix our hot water heater. They installed a $700 part on the gas meter. Hot water worked maybe 2 days & quit again. They came back out and said basically they didn't know why it wasn't working. I called ahs & asked for a second opinion company to come out. Fast forward to now, Centerpoint Energy showed up and immediately turned my gas off, head of second opinion company showed up & is out there taking pictures of all the damage. That $700 part has potentially damaged the gas regulators in all my appliances and my house was at risk of catching fire because of the level of gas being pumped into my house. The city is taking off that $700 part because as they said, "most plumbing companies know not to mess with our equipment, this is dangerous". Don't use this company!!!!!!! read more

This company is extremely dishonest and was trying to sell me on repairs outside of the home warranty contract. The plumber purposely lied about the damages and lied about my claim status. He made up a story that my floors were replaced and the damage was due to the floor level of the new floors. He purposely tries to get Home Warranty Claims denied so that he can charge extremely high prices outside of the home warranty, i.e. making sure the claim gets denied. He also did not clean up after he left. Extremely unprofessional and would NOT recommend their services. He made sure my claim was denied and then tried to charge me $575 to get a toilet flange replaced. The normal cost for this service is around $200 maximum including original service call, parts, and service. AHS NEEDS TO REMOVE THIS COMPANY FROM THEIR CONTACT LIST. IT'S OBVIOUS THEY ARE PURPOSELY DENYING CLAIMS TO TRY AND CHARGE CRAZY PRICES OUTSIDE OF HOME WARRANTY. BUT...... If he would have respected and done what I told him, I would not have to go to Home Depot and spend 400. On new toilet and installation. The handle is Impossible to flush, it leaks from inside. And won't turn off and keeps running. Only way was for me to get tool to turn water off. They need to pay attention to homeowners and fix it, that's why they were called. We are terribly disappointed with their service. They were called through American Home Shield for a leak under the faucet. The technician arrived, but refused to repair saying that the valve looked old. He said that it might crack, so refused to close it shut. I later had to another Plumbing company, who did not complain at all and did the job. Lindsay company collected 100$ from me and extra money from the American Home Shield and refused to do a job which other company did not have any trouble doing. Summary: If you use AHS warranty co - American Home Shield, avoid The Lindsay Company at all costs. We know AHS pays discounted rate to Lindsay. Lindsay has no real incentive to do the AHS job since they get paid less then market rate. Just going to the AHS Work Order customer, they get paid the minimum for showing up. They have fixed minor things for me, usually under 30 min jobs from AHS. But if the job requires an hour or two, Lindsay files with AHS as not normal wear & tear. AHS denies it. Then guess what? Lindsay charges the customer whatever they want. This is the real money making scheme for them. They are on my AHS Do Not Use list. Every time AHS auto assigns Lindsay, I ask AHS to give me a different plumber. They may have 15000 jobs done in 15 years. But AHS based jobs --- avoid at all costs. read more

I said that is not my decision to make, and to send the work order back to AHS. They would take care of it. She chose to become adversarial and argue. There is a very good reason why this company only has 2 stars on Yelp. Go under the reviews and search for the word "warranty". You will find that over 30 different people had the same bad experience with them! The different experiences are too similar to be a coincidence. I also had the same bad experience with them. They were assigned to repair my faucet by American Home Shield. My bathtub handle broke when I was turning it on to fill up the bathtub and the plumber diagnosed it as "NOT normal wear and tear or use". How is just turning on your faucet not normal use? Hahaha When I spoke with American Home Shield they reported that they denied the claim because of the plumber's diagnosis. I tried to get in touch with this company about the issue and it took weeks before the technician finally returned my phone call and when he did he call me back he said that the diagnosis was up to the supervisor and then recommended that I call AHS back for a second opinion. The company will probably post a reply saying that actually AHS makes the decision about a claim but I was told something completely different by AHS and over 30 reviews similar to my experience point to Lindsay Plumbing as the issue. Don't just take my word for it, read the other negative reviews. For your own good do NOT use this company for repairs by AHS or self-pay. read more

This company was referred to as part of the American Home Shield insurance. We paid $125 as a service fee that is requested always at any time you ask for a service through AHS. They scheduled fast and arrived at the expected time. Our 12-year tankless heater was not heating, the technician immediately noticed that there was a problem with the ignition, but he also noticed that there was a problem with some water inside the unit. He mentioned that he wasn't sure if there was a missing hose, and that that might be one of the reasons, but not entirely why the unit was faulty. He told me that he will recommend that our unit was replaced. My insurance is supposed to cover the replacement of the unit. Surprisingly they not only not covered, and the reason is because the technician mentioned ONLY the supposedly missing hose, as the cause of the failure. Remember that this unit have been working with NO ISSUES AT ALL for 12 years. So, the insurance decided not to cover the unit based on the technician comments. And they send a $7000 quote, with more labor to be added. I have a plumber that I trust for years, he is quoting less than half for a high-quality unit. So obviously this company makes sure that AHS don't cover their clients and they are overpriced. Very disappointing that companies' sides with Insurance companies like that. By the way my plumber is certified. I'm a General Contractor so I have experience on the service industry, I'm not an average customer, I'm one that actually understands the trade. read more

Bottom line; Don't use this company - they do not stand behind their work. 8/22 - I had a tiny leak in upstairs water pipe, mind you this is a pressurized water line. Lindsay Company was contracted by American Home Shield (AHS) to "fix" the leak. Lindsay Co. technician put a band-aid on a pressurized pipe and after about 8 day half of the ceiling and blown installation had extensive water damage. 8/30 - Lindsay Co. Sent out technician to replace ~12' of pipe. No more leaks. However, the technician left pipe and materials in the room and in the attic. Nice, but not professional. 09/13 - AHS sent out ceiling repair contractor to fix the damages done by plumber and to fix where they accessed ceiling to repair pipe. After the subcontractor assessed the damage they said they could not fix. I was told by AHS that they are not responsible for secondary damages, and they would only fix small patch ~2'x2'. The damaged ceiling included over 52 SF of replacement, tape, float, texture, and paint. I explained the damages were the direct result of AHS's plumber not performing work properly. AHS told me I needed to contact Lindsay, I reminded AHS that I did not contract with Lindsay - my contract is with AHS. AHS said they would reach out to Lindsay and have them resolve the issue. AHS then turned around and charged me $125 to have the ceiling contractor come to the house. FYI - I had an independent contractor provide an estimate of $1,400 to repair/replace the ceiling (not including insulation). 10/9 - AHS agrees to send reimbursement. It was for $220. I told them that was not enough. 10/26 - AHS agreed to send another $280. I settled for $500. Final Recommendation: I cannot say enough about the poor customer service by both AHS and the Lindsay Company. I would not recommend either company. I have spent 2 months and over 2 dozen phone calls waiting hours on end, fighting for AHS to do the right thing. This is contract dispute between a subcontractor and AHS. This should not be an issue for a home owner to resolve. As a corporation, AHS should have reimbursed the entire $1,400 for damages done by their subcontractor and go after the sub for back charge. As a contractor, Lindsay Co. should have owned up to their mistake and paid to have the ceiling repaired at Lindsay Co. costs. I would also recommend AHS remove Lindsay Company from their "approved" vendor list and hire reputable contractors. read more

He walked into my home and instantly started diagnosing my issue without even looking at the problem area. When asked if he was going to at least take a look at the problem, he asked for a the location of the clean out. My husband was not familiar with the location and asked for a few minutes to look for our home paperwork and the technician would not wait. All in all, the technician was at our home no more than 20 minutes and somehow diagnosed our problem without looking at the problem area. Don't waste your time. When they came out they ran the water for less than 2 minutes and said there was not a current leak so there was nothing they could do about it despite the fact I had a water cup that was filled with dirty water showing exactly where the leak was coming from. He told us that the issue was improper installation, but he would have leave and "check" if the warranty would cover it. Later, AHS called me and said that the plumber told them the issue was caused by us (homeowners), not improper installation (he specifically put "properly installed" on the sheet), and that it was not covered. They added that the Lindsay Company quoted nearly $600 to fix it for us. I went back and forth with AHS and Lindsay for a while, but couldn't get the decision changed, so I requested a second opinion service call from AHS. This time they sent someone from SAP Home Repair, who fixed the problem under warranty within an hour. Avoid the Lindsay Company. They're scam artists. read more

Our home insurance contracted Lindsay Company to investigate what appeared to be water damage in our master bathroom. The first plumber that visited our home was not able to conclude what exactly the source of the leak was. He stated that he had an "educated guess" as to what the source of the potential leak was but would not be certain until he could see inside the walls to get a clearer image of the piping. He also recommended that we get someone with a leak detector and/or moisture detector come to our home in order to learn the extent of where the leakage may have traveled to because he was unable to identify that by a simple visual inspection. The gentleman said he would call our home insurance company to let them know of his observations and inconclusive results. Fast forward, a second plumber from Linday Company is sent back to our home after a home restoration company opened up our walls and discovered that there was extensive water damage that was affecting multiple rooms in our home. When this second plumber came to our home the first thing he uttered once he stepped foot into my house was that "they", as in the Lindsay Company, had already told us what the source of the water leak was and that it had nothing to do with plumbing. At this point he had not stepped foot in the master bathroom and frankly, appeared to be annoyed to have been sent to our home to re-evaluate an inconclusive evaluation. As stated previously, the first plumber was informative but made it very clear to us that he could not tell us with certainty that the issue was due to plumbing based on the limited view he had of the plumbing system. What I was most applauded at was at how rude and dismissive Linday's plumber was without even taking a look at the issue himself. We had a restoration company open up our walls in order to arrive to a definitive answer of whether it was indeed plumbing or not. The second plumber was in my home for no more than 5 minutes, did not run the shower, and said it was the tiles - end of story. Extremely unprofessional and dismissive. Would not recommend Lindsay Company and will most certainly not use them again. read more

My warranty company sent The Lindsay Company for a service request on my dishwasher/garbage disposal unit. The visit barely lasted more than 5 minutes as the Lindsay repairman did the bare minimum in examining the issue. For instance, when I explained to the repairman that there may be a connection problem between the two appliances, he looked under the sink, ran his flashlight over for about 20 seconds, and said that he didn't see any issue. Without even looking at the dishwasher, he said that must be the issue but didn't elaborate or investigate the issue any further. Also, the repairman had a nonchalant attitude throughout the visit with bad customer service to boot. I called Lindsay immediately afterwards to complain, but never got a response. For all of the above reasons, I wouldn't recommend anyone use this company should they have a plumbing issue. read more
