Huge penny installation in honor of President Lincoln
    Mary D.

Lincoln Park is both the oldest and newest park in Long Beach. It was designated the first park in Long Beach in 1880, was recently renovated and reopened in February 2022. The park is located in Downtown Long Beach on Ocean and Pacific next to Billie Jean King Library. It is a beautiful park dedicated to the memory of our 16th US president. The park is beautiful and there is a statue of Abe Lincoln and a large penny- great location for taking pictures. The park features a modern playground, dog park, skate park, and lots of fitness equipment. It would be a much better park if it weren't for all the homeless individuals hanging around there and camping out around the library nearby. I would recommend checking out the park during the day.

Lincoln Park, which was named after the U.S. President, was founded in 1880, but it was renovated and reopened in February 2022. Current amenities include a playground (monkey bars, swings, and slides), mechanical fitness machines, turf fields for sports, dog parks, a basketball court, a skate park, and a Lincoln statue and penny. The Billie Jean King Main Library is located immediately nearby. Because the park is so new, during my recent visit, all of the structures looked to be in excellent condition. The main highlight for me was the 13-foot-tall Lincoln penny. I had fun standing next to it. (See my photo!) As another reviewer has already noted, this park can attract people who are there for other reasons, such as homeless people. I visited during daylight and did not feel unsafe.

They did a really great job with what they had available. Don't get me wrong, the new space looks great and is a huge step up from what it was previously. They have workout machines, a sizeable children's area on turf, 2 different dog parks, a fun little skate park, and who doesn't love that giant penny selfie spot. I haven't been in the new Billie Jean King Library yet, but from the outside, it looks gorgeous. Bravo to the planners and builders on all those points. The downside of this specific space is it can still attract some unsavory elements because of its proximity to downtown and riverbed area. Even at noon on a Sunday, there we 3 guys smoking weed on the edge of the skate park and some campers around the park edges. I ain't made at them. We will always have homeless in Long Beach. They have as much of a right to be in the park as anyone else. Just keep that in mind. It can end up as part of the experience when you visit.

A newly re-opened park, between the library and Ocean Blvd. It has something for everyone. From a kids play area to small skate park, workout equipment to basketball court, a large grassy area for relaxing, 2 separate dog parks (one for small dogs, one for larger dogs), and restrooms. I was impressed how well lite the park was at night. It is clean...I really hope it stays that way.

Goodbye to the dreadful tarp lined fences and the dust of construction equipment and welcome to the blissful greenery along with cheerful laughters of playful children. Yes, Lincoln Park is back, FINALLY! You might say it took awhile, but wow was it worth it. It's great the Billie Jean King Main Library now as a beautiful park to compliment its architectural beauty. This newly renovated park located at the corner of Pacific Ave and W Ocean Blvd was literally rebuilt from the ground up. This quaint little park comes with a playground, skatepark, basketball court, dog park, restrooms and plenty of benches to sit and people watch. Hopefully the city will find a way to keep it safe and clean for the young and old to continue enjoy for years to come. Now it's your turn: borrow a book from the library and find yourself a spot to get lost in a good read at the new Lincoln Park.

Lincoln Park located on Ocean and Pacific and Broadway Lincoln Park is a nice new renovated cart in the city of Long Beach looks pretty good has a lot of fun activity spots you can do for the kids family orientated is a basketball court there is a also rides stuff skating park a nice spot for the dogs to be at you can take your dogs enjoyed it I brought my son he had fun he was having fun little swings so real nice park and hang out only thing is they got a clean the restrooms restrooms was very disgusting if you go there make sure you use the restroom before you go because it is not that clean I did and that everything was nice Lincoln park right there on Ocean Street parking lot only on Ocean and Broadway if you go to drive you here make sure you find a good parking spot

Homeless guy tearing through trash while i write this review.

The park was a great concept, but its quickly turning into what it was before the renovation, a camp ground for the homeless. There are homeless people staged everywhere, sleeping, yelling, seen someone taking a dump behind a bench. The bathrooms are occupied hours at a time while 2-3 vagrants are inside doing god-knows-what. The little time that they did have Security, 1 guard would hide in the bathroom while the other guard left the premises to go eat food, and then they would switch every hour. I was excited about this park initially but at this point its quickly becoming a nuisance to anyone who isn't homeless.

Situated right next to Long Beach Downtown library and recently renovated, this park gives downtown Long Beach strongly needed green space. It offers basketball court, workout area, shaded kids playground and off course the statue of a penny at the entrance. The area is really clean and well taken care off, wouldn't mind bringing my kids here.

Love taking our toddler here, new playground with shade and plenty of parking nearby. The library is also new and has a wonderful kids/toddler area. The field has a few activities your can check-out, (ie frisbee, connect four, corn hole, balls etc) and the staff is super friendly. Only complaint is that the bathrooms are usually closed or occupied by transients so we use the restroom inside the library.

    So fun, pull up!

Fun little skatepark! Flatbar, ledges & some mini ramps. If you're looking for bowls & transition this park isn't it. Bathrooms nearby but NO shade to sit. Only thing that would make this perfect is maybe a tarp for some shade or a table with an umbrella for seating when resting. Other than that go check it out definitely recommend

Nice little park to a take a picture of the big penny. Nice and clean and open. Lots of kids skating. Would be nice for them to have a bigger area to skate in overall nice place to hang out and walk

I love this park. It has very good size and has two sections, one for small dogs and one for large dogs. Overall it seems very quiet and clean but at night seems to be unsafe. I like it also because it has lots of grass and now no longer parks have that.

Water fountain for the puppy's too!

Still nice but with a major upgrade. It's part of the aquarium of the pacific just along the harbor. There's a parking lot that's part of it but the payment situations was a bit of a mess. Paying with credit card on the machine was a hit or miss. Which i also found out from someone else there. It's probably easy just to do it from your phone. It's a decent size parking lot but there's also parking at the structure just next to the aquarium. It's a cute rolling hill park that looks out to both the queen mary, shoreline village and the harbor. Depending on what side you are. It's a cute little walk around with the lighthouse on top. There's benches scattered throughout the park for seating. There's even a little beach like path along the harbor. Regardless which side you are, the view is quite beautiful. There's also fishing that you could do on the pier. You'll see people about and about walking, picnicking, walking with their dogs or a stroll. Assuming this is all part of the Drake Park proper, but it took a little intuition to find the entrance for our first visit. And still, the parking lot is small, filled with litter, human waste, and lots of broken auto glass... And it's about a 200 yard walk to the entrance of the artificial turf soccer field. Much of the human detritus in the parking lot is likely attributed to the considerable homeless population that is evident in the immediate area: dozens of people were camped out just across the street, in the dirt lot area adjacent to the river channel. That same dirt lot is variably covered with piles of demolition construction materials haphazardly dumped by who knows who? In pure defiance of posted signs prohibiting dumping. Other "unhoused Angelinos" seem to be wandering about the park, utilizing senses beyond my standard five (sight, smell, taste, hearing, and feeling) to experience things I can only imagine.... and a couple had set up camp in the park's landscaping adjacent to the walking path. Not so much unsafe as much as unsanitary This part of the park features what appears to be some kind of community garden - - locked and secured behind 10 foot chain-link fences. there is a public park restroom with only 2 of the 8 single seater stalls unlocked, and both are horrific inside. Some beautiful wall murals are marred by tagging. Much of the park here is adjacent to industrial yards, and most of the bordering landscape is littered with garbage. The soccer field is actually quite beautiful: artificial turf field with a perimeter fence. I laughed a little bit at the idea that this was a "green belt" and the soccer field was artificial turf... But there is certainly some actual real grass field in this park, and some California native plants along the periphery. So I guess that counts in the midst of This residential-industrial interface. The air was pretty heavy with the smell of oil refinery and low tide from the nearby river channel, which was probably a bigger deal to the soccer players than it was to me as a spectator. A generous three stars for the really nice soccer field and the fact that my truck windows weren't added to the considerable collection of broken auto window glass on the ground in the parking lot. My only other Long Beach Park frame of reference is Bluff Park, so I can confidently say this is nicer.... relative, though, that comparison is...
