I wanted to rewire a couple of lamps. Not really a hard task, unless a lamp is a weird size and a standard socket won't fit. I originally went to Home Depot (mainly because I needed a few things for the garden.) They were absolutely useless. I've bought odds and ends and Lincoln hardware over the years, so I thought I'd try there. Amazing. They did such a great job in helping me to figure out how to adapt it. They were really nice, patient, didn't patronize and made it work. I really appreciate them! read more

I went in for something that it turned out they could not help me with. But they tried for quite awhile, and really seem to care about their customers. One of the last neighborhood hardware stores. read more

This is a hidden jewel. Old-fashioned helpful service with friendly staff. Prices are lower than the big guys and I've never had a bad experience here. I had a picture of my antiquated door locks, common in the Santa Monica apartments, and by this picture alone they were able to guide me what was wrong. Best place for keys being made as well. Ladies, check this place out first if you need help and not sure how to do a minor repair. read more

Never had a bad experience here. They are always super helpful. Once, I broke my fluorescent light on the way out of the store. I was so embarassed. They just gave me a replacement, no big deal. The store is also very well stocked. Please go here before hitting up the big box. Support your local businesses! read more

Love this place! Old fashioned hardware store with helpful staff for those who need help!

If you want ignorant and grandiose behavior from clowns this is the store for you .... Disgusting tone of voice to talk to customers my mask fell and was told harshly You gotta put it on which I did as it had slipped I'm not an anitmasker just anti clowns Who think they can talk to customers like that . When asked if there's a manager I was stonewalled by his goons ..... This is why retail is dying because of attitude like this as you will be paying 200 % more at this store you would expect manners ... alas just 1st class ignorance . I suggest keep giving money to Mr Besos and co as these clowns don't deserve it . Four goons at the front desk while the place could do with a good clean .... self important and lazy , prob wear the old Lino out standing on that spot all day because they sure don't wear their shoes helping client find products you get a grunt and if you're lucky they may raise an arm to point you in a vague direction . A room full of near extinct dinosaurs with a couple of wannabe grouch's thrown in read more

This hardware store has what you need to fix most common house repairs. With that being said, the staff is the worst. If you ask for help it seems like you're bothering them and they give a blank stare. read more

I was fortunate enough to experience the outstanding customer service provided by Dave, Juan, Chris and one other gentleman with a blue hat. Their exceptional knowledge, professionalism, and friendly demeanor at the height of my lock crisis was unparalled. I cannot thank them enough for their time and assistance over a two day span especially when they did not have what I needed at first. Solution oriented read more

I hate the big-box experience, especially for hardware. If you're in the Lincoln Ave. area of Venice, I definitely recommend Lincoln Hardware for a great combination of inventory and personal know-how. read more

I recommend Carlos and Carlos for coming over right away to hook up the connection to my gas stove. They very knowledgeable and professional and neat!! Thanks guys!! read more

Finally, a hardware store which stocks hardware and kept me out of the orange box mega-hardware store. I left Santa Monica to buy a few basic items on a Saturday morning, and went to 2 different hardware stores striking out. I decided to try one last "locally-owned and operated", before caving to the evil orange box-store.(Note: I also do not have a Costco card!). Lincoln Hardware restored my faith in the small store which actually stocks useful hardware items. In fact I almost left before remembering, a $50 garden item I needed to buy from big-orange. I was so happy with their service, I went back in and made this purchase as well. Thank you folks at Lincoln h/w. Great sign out front, too! :-) read more

I used to go to this hardware store all the time when I lived across the street fromm it. It was great then. It is still an interesting store. But I spoke to Dave today on the phone and found him to be extremely and unecessarily rude. He was so rude that I drove up to Anawalt on Pico (not that far really!), paid 1/2 of what Lincoln Hardware wanted (no exxageration !) and was treated with kindness and as a customer. Hence, the 1 star review for Lincoln Hardware - the way you treat people matters. read more

A convenient, friendly hardware store with fantastic parking easily accessed. Friendly staff, always ready to help you find what you need. I dashed up there to get a hotplate the day the gas company shut off my stove for high carbon monoxide, which tided me over until I could get something more permanent. It's great to get the exact size and quantity of screws and nails you want instead of being forced to buy a box of way too many that will take up your shelf space the next 40 years. Comfortable good working gloves, roofing tar, hand tools, batteries are a few of my recents. Less choice than the giants but plenty good enough, and a fragment of the time and hassle. read more

Huge parking lot! Found what I needed. I bought screws and the associate tells you the price so you can tell the cashier. Lol A very mom and pop operation. read more

Very boys club/"boys only" vibe when I walk in this place. They don't have a single female employee which contributes to that. Like today when I was walking to the register and one of the associates went from quietly talking to all of a sudden loud lecturing about how they need to charge a "convenience fee" in a threatening tone right as I walked up. As if my presence was a drain on them and I'm a needy creature of convenience. Even if they weren't talking about me, is that really the kind of environment you want to create in your store? A threatening one? Doesn't your business run on convenience? Do you want to go out of business? They need to grow up. They are nominally friendly on a surface level, I suppose. Their key cutting service is a joke, though. I've gotten 3 keys cut here and only one worked. All in all a decent enough hardware store. Emergency purchases only. read more

Selection and Prices are not as good as Home Depot or Lowe's but it's very convenient and they all wear masks etc. Pretty decent selection of basic stuff that is well organized. You definitely have to ask (sometimes repeatedly) for help and they are not always super friendly... but they will help if you persist. I got them to crack open my 20 year old garage door opener to change the battery. They guys in the back, not the front, are helpful. The front guy just mostly rings stuff up. Do be discouraged - just keep asking for help or questions until you get it - they will eventually cave in just to get your out of the store :) read more

This is the only place that had the blank key I needed to copy my keys out of all the hardware stores in West LA. Amazing!

This is the place you want to go to if, to borrow a line from the grateful dead, you need a left-handed monkey wrench. It totally cool place

These guys are awesome! Had what I needed in stock and were eager to help! So nice versus chasing down help at the larger stores. Highly recommend them for attitude and help for your hardware needs. Also, there were a lot of contractors coming in and out, so they probably have some great deals for those people in that field. read more

Lincoln hardware is my spot. Small but mighty. They have so many items here. No matter what I'm looking for, tiny screws, drill bits or small specialty hinges... They always save my day. As this is a mom and pop shop, don't expect that Lowes customer service. They are helpful but not going to bend over backwards. read more

I had THE best experience at Lincoln Hardware. I drove 20 mins out of the way in order to support a small business bc I can't stand Home Depot and I was not disappointed. I just moved into a new home so I needs random bits and bobs. They had everything I needed and more and the staff was SO helpful!!!!! Several people asked me if I needed assistance and patiently answered all my questions. It was such a pleasant experience. I love Lincoln Hardware and it will now be my forever hardware store. read more

This is such a great throwback hardware store, it's like walking back in time and getting help from people who aren't in a hurry and who actually care. I want to give a special shout out to Jose and Mark, who took the time to figure out an electrical problem in a simple way that saved me a lot of hassle and expense and fixed a medical implement that I rely on for health. Many thanks for being above and beyond. read more

The staff here was so unhelpful and unfriendly. I'm not hardware literate so I had questions, which they seemed very annoyed to have to answer. It was obviously a bother for them to help someone who doesn't know much about repair and handy work. I won't be coming back. read more

Great local hardware store with good selection and helpful staff. Surprised with the variety they can stock in small space. And definitely more knowledgeable staff than big box stores. read more

This is an old school hardware store. There are employees waiting by the door to help you find whatever you need. Really simple: the guys that work here are completely useless and not helpful or friendly at all.

Wow - a true gem. I discovered this old fashioned hardware store and it's my go-to place from now on! They had everything I was looking for, and their staff could not have been more helpful. Love this place!!! read more

These guys are the best. Old school hardware store. Grumpy, of course, its part of the charm. How would you like to sell nuts and bolts all day long to rich westsiders who have no clue what they are talking about? Best selection of all the bits you need. Nothing antiseptic about this place. The guys are cool once you get to know them. read more
