A day or two later I had to go back for an additional 5 gallons - no big deal right? I go up to the front and order 5 gallons of the Regal grade paint in the color that I wanted. Guy says ok and walks away. I'm taking care of stuff on my phone and another guy comes and takes my payment. Before I know it they are rolling out my mixed paint.... in the WRONG finish. I hesitate and say that I needed it in Matte as I did before. They never asked me the finish. The guy said he remembered what I got the day before and that I was wrong so I call my handyman and have him confirm that what we had was matte, and it was. THEN the guy changes his story and said they did ask me and I asked for eggshell - which is laughable because even in a distracted state I would NEVERRRRRRR say eggshell. At this point he's arguing and gaslighting me so I take a moment and think, ok, let's dial this back and ask if there is something we can work out. I understand this is a business and regardless of who is at fault (him) maybe we could work something out. But he doubles down and his voice is raised and shaking and saying that I asked for eggshell. At this point I know he is lying because, to reiterate: A) they never asked B) I would NEVER get eggshell for this project and C) he is trembling with rage and honestly - that tells me all I need to know. So is this a scam they run to get people to pay for stuff? What else could it be? I left the paint there and went to another store and guess what? They asked what finish I wanted. I told them what happened and even they said woah... someone there fucked up. I want to make it clear that I left because I was robbed and felt unsafe from the lunatic lying through is ever loving teeth. That's over $300 down the drain because someone failed to do their job correctly and then had the audacity to try to pin it on me. Don't spend your money there because you will regret it.

Originally, when we purchased our home a few years ago, our contractor had us to go Dunn Edwards for our paint, the service was never great - I prefer to support a business that actually cares about their customer satisfaction and I felt at home when I visited this location of Sherwin-Williams. We had heard good things about the paint from Sherwin-Williams, they have great quality and wonderful colors. We happened to notice they were having a presidents day sale which was fantastic - 40% off, it was a no brainer. But at the end of the day, for someone like me, I care more about how I'm treated in store then the cost of the product itself. We were lucky enough to meet Spencer who obviously knew a lot of paint, not just as a sales person but as someone who painted for a living. His recommendations were highly appreciated and I hope they know how lucky they are to have such a great team running this location. For any future painting needs, it will always be this brand for us. Thank you for helping to make a tough experience (choosing the right color) so much easier on us. Anything to do with home renovation is so stressful, it's nice we found a place that made one checklist item so much easier on us.

I was advised on the type of paint for the application I needed and I told the guy, Jason Ha, I needed it to be black for some entry steps of a building. I he told me to pick a paper sample of the color i wanted so i picked "black" and gave it to him. He tinted the paint and when he dipped the sample on the top of the lid I asked if that was black, since it looked gray/green. He assured me twice "it would dry black". I figured this was a pro store so they would know and took Jason's word for it and I paid the $55 for the gallon for my client. The paint went on a grayish green color and I figured in 24 hours it would dry black. It did did not. It was a weird olive green. To correct this for the client and finish the job, I went to Home Depot and got black; real black, the sample even looked black when it was wet, it was definitely black. I returned with the half gallon to Vista because I wanted the guy to know he did not give me black paint and I hoped they could give me a credit or something, or at least be considerate since I could not charge the client for it! Now I know stores don't take back paint, but he tinted it, labeled it 'black" and assured me it was black, I think he really made the mistake so I needed to have it made right. I showed him photos of the "black' he gave me next to the Home depot Black....but Jason Ha was adamant that this was the color I GAVE him and it is my fault and that there are "many shades of black". I agree with that, there ARE many different types of black, but GREEN isn't one of them! So I'm out $55 bucks and the guy at the store was a total dick. Hopefully this review will stop some people from spending their money at Vista Paint. Just go to Home Depot, they get it right and treat customers properly.

Matt B. and I went on a low-key Sunday afternoon with our four-year-old Wade B., who's been monomaniacally obsessed with fans for more than half his life. The trip was mostly uneventful. Parking was easy, and the store was in good enough order. We found the freezers and refrigerators and got to look at some options, though the wine fridge selection was quite limited. I was kind of interested in the numerous Halloween decorations, but Wade decided they were too spooky, and I didn't feel like arguing. We were there in part to indulge him, after all. He was immediately fascinated by the large fan tasked with cooling the store, which was visible from the refrigerator section. Then we guided him toward lighting, and he broke into a run when he saw THE FANS! THE FANS! THE FANS! There were a lot of fans on display, about as much quantity and variety as my boy has ever seen in one place. He just about lost his goddamn mind, and I feel lucky that we managed to get him out of there without a protest tantrum. We took a family trip to Europe this summer, and my husband asked Wade whether he preferred Lowe's or Paris. Wade was in the depths of the fan aisles at that time, and answered "Lowe's" without hesitation. Matt followed up by asking if he preferred Lowe's or the Eiffel Tower, and Wade said, "Lowe's. The Eiffel Tower doesn't have fans." I haven't shopped enough at Lowe's to have a strong opinion about the place one way or another, but some would say it's better than Paris. I'd recommend it for your big box hardware store needs, and for free entertainment for fans of fans.

The clerk spent about 30 min mixing up my two selected tints on the computer/agitator, using clean quart cans, and I was happy. Then, he positively refused to charge me.
