My sad tale with a happy ending...went to HD to get a texture paint tinted; I had to buy the texture paint on the HD website cuz the store didn't have it. The paint mix people flatly refused to tint my 2 1/2 gallon paint, cuz I didn't buy it there. Went down the street to the S-W on Jefferson, hunted around for the entrance (buried behind street construction. Made the same request. They, too, declined to do the actual tinting, but would readily mix up the tint (which worked just fine, letting me tint in the quantities I wanted at home). The clerk spent about 30 min mixing up my two selected tints on the computer/agitator, using clean quart cans, and I was happy. Then, he positively refused to charge me. Nope, nope, nope, says he, we don't charge for tinting, even if you don't buy it here. I even had my credit card in my hand, but he wouldn't take my money. Okay, I'll be back! read more

They had everything I needed right in store and Daryl didn't to upsell or oversell anything I didn't need. July 27th 2022, entered the store to purchase tube of acrylic latex caulking.  Located a tube of DAP All purpose acrylic latex caulk plus silicone 40 years 10.1 fluid oz tube.  No manufacturer date or best used by date noted on any of the tubes.  Spoke with one of the employees who insured me that the product was good and that they sell pallets of this product every month, thus a high turnover.  Well, that sounds good, but I rather not take his word for it so I left the store. I don't necessarily want somebody's word, I want proof.  It's not too much of a reach to expect a date on the tube.  Purchased this exact same item at a nearby Home Depot with the following manufacturing date noted as July 1st 2022 or 822182 (8 is the location, 22 is the year and 182 is the day of the year).  Military or 24-hour time noted as 21: 34 hrs. too. This is simple simple simple stuff.  I don't think it's too much to ask for.  I'm giving three stars because the employee seem sincere despite being a little bit snarky and pompous (perhaps in disbelief) with my request for a date.   See attached photograph of a Home Depot tube of DAP that I bought today.  Again simple stuff, but in my opinion very important. read more

First and last time I come here. I needed a gallon of clear coat which doesn't need mixing or special treatment. I waited 20 minutes before even being acknowledged let alone helped. I tried calling before i came to check and see if they even had what i needed but no answer. Literally nobody in the front. It's like cashiers have to make the paint too I guess. Store is also very unorganized and service is almost completely absent. If I didn't need this particular product for an project I would never have come in and at this point will never come in again or use their product. read more

I am a General contractor and am in the painting stage of a remodel. I had a great experience at the Culver City store recently when realizing that my client had very particular color tastes but limited knowledge. Sherwin Williams has a color specialist ( Rojelly ) who came to our project, listened to the client's needs, and expertly and professionally explained our options. Her knowledge of the products and sheens turned a complex situation into a few easy decisions. Leo , at the Culver City store was able to get the information from Rojelly and the results were outstanding The nominal fee to have the consultation was minor in comparison to the time saved. Sherwin Williams issued a $50 credit toward future purchases as well. read more

Drove in here on a pouring rainy day half hour before closing. The entrance is on the opposite side of its address and there are plenty of parking spots. As I entered, someone greeted me right away and consulted with me on what I needed. Another person at the register let me use a coupon that they were offering that day that I never knew and got a great deal. Got home and I painted my bedroom wall. I should have known from the look of the store on the outside when passing on Jefferson the gates were shut and the store looked closed. And it might as well have been closed with the kind of service this store gives its customers.These bozos really need to get their act together. They really have no interest in helping out the customer with that passive-aggressive attitude. I walked in there I was standing around for 10 minutes and the three salesman sort of moseying around the store really doing nothing and they don't even acknowledge the customer standing there. I wanted to do some touch-ups and my previous apartment manager and current did not have the paint codes on file. This was incredibly frustrating because I had spackled some holes and cracks already. I saw online that if I cut out a piece of the wall, Sherwin-Williams could create a close match. It took a little bit of time, but Jannet (I think that was her name) created a near-identical match! My walls look much better now and they kept the mixture on file under my name in case I ever need more. I will only come here for paint now. read more

My experience at SW at this location has been mixed. Sometimes they are on their A game when it come to customer service and sometimes I have been made to wait while the men chat behind the counter. It's hit or miss. It's disheartening because this location is in my neighborhood and closer than Home Depot. To top it off, I was almost hit by a SW van this morning after he ran a stop sign and sped off toward the store. Wreck less driving through our kid friendly neighborhood is unacceptable. read more

The customer service at this place is outstanding. Had 2 amazing experiences with 2 different salesman in the past couple weeks. But notably, we came in the second time as we were not happy with the colors we chose the first time. One of the young men working there, believe his name to be Vidal, went out of his way to ensure we got the color we wanted this time. He was very knowledgeable about all the paint colors and what we might want based on our description. He offered us several samples until we got it right and left the store happy. All the while he was super friendly while helping us. Really appreciated the hard work and effort as that is rare to find in most stores today. read more

First of all I called and ask the store hours and I was told they close at 7pm Wrong I got there at 5:24 and i was told they could not help me to color match the paint I needed , the problem for me was before I even finished asking a question I was told no no we can't do that it's to late! Wow I also work with the public I recognize a clock watcher the bad thing they didn't even try!!! I will never do back! Nor will I recommend them to my Friends. I went into Sherwin-Williams looking for a particular shade of blue/gray for my living room. Todd, recommended a beautiful color called, 'Adrift.' He assisted me with all my painting needs & took the time to explain the different kinds of paint sheens. I so love this color with the white, white semi-gloss trim Todd recommended as well. My son loves his color too called, 'Fountain.' I will definitely return for my other rooms & highly recommend. Great customer service! read more

Mostly contractors are seen inside the store. I went because I wanted to paint my room. The manager/cashier totally questioned the amount of paint I requested. He wanted to know the square feet, what kind of room I was painting, then told me I needed an extra gallon. I told him I had closet doors and big windows, still he justified the extra gallon. It ended up I was correct. When I returned to tell him he was wrong and I wanted to return the extra gallon, he said, "I'm not the expert. I can't re-sell that gallon of paint," Well, hello? don't act like an expert and up-sale to obvious non-professional painters. Very dissatisfying. I have never written a Yelp review prior to today, but since I had such a horrible experience here because of RICHARD and JOSH, I decided to take the time to make a Yelp account so that Sherwin Williams management can hear feedback about their employees. RICHARD and JOSH provided the absolute WORST customer service, not just to me, but in their interactions that I observed with other customers, as well. They were BEYOND RUDE, aggressive, and were not helpful at all. They were both filled with so much anger and made it uncomfortable to be in the store. I work in customer service and understand that it is not an easy job, but their horrible customer service skills were not excusable at all when I witnessed how LEO interacted with customers. LEO was the only person in the store who possessed excellent customer service skills. LEO was very approachable, jumped in to offer me help even without me having to ask, and went above and beyond to all his customers. Thank you Leo for not being an asshole like your co-workers!
