I'd just like to throw my two cents in here about the exceptional customer service experience I had at Lincoln Auto Electric. My 1971 vw transporter started backfiring on the 10 freeway on my way to the beach. I pulled off on the Cloverfield exit in Santa Monica. I wasn't sure what options I had though I had heard about Ruben's shop on Lincoln from various people in the previous few months. Aiming for Ruben's shop, I putted the car down Pico towards Lincoln when the backfiring became too much and the engine died. I stopped there on the corner of Euclid and Pico with the engine hood open and indicator lights blinking. No more than a minute past when folks started jumping out of the cars and asking me what was wrong. This one guy Tom had a Westy and ran through the usual vw engine suspects. His suggestion was to take it to Rueben on Lincoln, a very reputable auto mechanic who always helped Tom with different things on his Westy m. I said thanks and that's where I had planned on going. Another local named Jaime came by. He had a 1961 bug and has been working on VW engines since he was a kid. He got his toolbox out of his car, while his wife waited patiently. We spent the good part of an hour cleaning spark plugs, checking vacuum and oil leaks, then we realized the distributor points in the cap were chewed up by the rotor alignment. Jaime said best bet was to take it to a guy named Ruben on Lincoln who had taught Jaime everything. I said thanks, that's where I was going to begin with. I pushed the bus down Euclid, right on ocean park and around the corner of Lincoln into the shop where I was greeted by Nicholas, Ruben's son. He told me unfortunately Ruben was out of the shop for the duration recovering from a surgery. I left the keys with them and they would call me. The next day I received a call from Nicholas. I had recently got the engine rebuilt and according to him they did not install a deflector plate, so the engine was bleeding oil. Secondly, the distributor was indeed screwed up. I agreed with the price and told them to go ahead to fix the issues. The next day I received another call, this time from Ruben. He called from his home while recovering from surgery to tell me that the problem was bigger than Nicholas anticipated. The third valve had dropped into the engine and required a new rebuild. He suggested ways to get money back from the business that rebuilt the engine. He said there was no rush to make a decision. I asked if they would please refrain from what we originally agreed they would fix, which he said of course. I must say this is exceptional competence seldom seen these days. I was blown away with the honesty and integrity. Nicholas and the team was very helpful when the AAA tow came to the shop. They didn't charge me anything and we're over the top gracious and respectful. Top rated!! read more

Although I had to take my car twice to their shop since they didn't check for additional leaks (which I mentioned to them) and issues came up. I had my Chevy Silverado rear brakes completely replaced (drums, pads, wheel cylinders) on 8-8-20. The next day i heard a loud screeching from the brakes and took it back to Lincoln Auto Electric for repair. They said it was the front brakes and i shouldn't worry about it . On 9-2-20, i took it to another mechanic to diagnose the same problem. It turns out the brake pads were only contacting on the top and botton and not the entire pad when they were engaged. The other mechanic said the drums and pads were not OEM parts and the quality of the drums and pads were poor. I had to replace both sets of drums and pads. Lincoln Auto Electric charged me $613 for the rear brake job. The other mechanic charged me $ 438. Buyer be ware. It was an expensive lesson, but the brakes are fixed and working perfectly. read more

I've had many problems in the past with my door locks and AC. I was recommended this place many times and finally decided to take it their initially for my air conditioning, however there are countless other things they have worked on my 2003 Yukon. I had just moved to Vegas and my compressor went out the second I got there. Since Ruben, the owner has been very good to me I felt like I had to bring it back to him. He honored his verbal agreement to fix my air conditioner if it went out again and surprisingly he did at no charge. My roommate's car had a break light problem that didn't allow them to operate the car. They called around and came to the conclusion that this place was the place to go. We were able to leave the car for them to evaluate and within 30 mins the problem was diagnosed. The shop gave us an easy and inexpensive process to fix the problem and the fee for the service was much lower than expected. I feel that the mechanic was honest and trustworthy. This review is long overdue! I I was having problems a few months ago with my Mercedes' Sprinter's right headlamp ever since it was involved in accident. I called quite a few business trying to get it checked out but most seemed to busy to check out my "small" problem or the fact they simply gave me an outrageous price to examiner it. I then came across Lincoln Auto Electric and he told me to bring it down and he will look at it! I brought it in and he almost immediately figured out the problem. He said that the wire harness attached to the headlight was an after market one and doesn't fit my sprinter correctly and needed to be replaced or he could re-wire the after market one to work! I said I will order a new OEM part and he made me an appointment to fix it. Had no problems ever since! These guys that work at Lincoln Auto Electric are knowledgeable, honest, accommodating, and have amazing customer service! The reason I went to them today is because one of my headlights was out and I needed help replacing the bulb. They helped me no problem and even taught me how to do it! I had such a great experience here that I almost want to find things wrong with my car so I can give them more business. A rare find in the auto repair and service industry. My power windows and door locks stopped working, with my back window stuck open. The local Firestone I go to for oil changes and tire-related fixes told me I needed to go to my Nissan dealer or an electrical auto shop for the problem. So because there's no Nissan dealer in Santa Monica, I Googled the latter and came up with good reviews for Lincoln Auto Electric. Even though I planned to leave my car overnight, they got to my car right away. Ruben (I believe he's the owner) filled me in on exactly what was wrong - no additional problems that suddenly needed fixed - and offered me great prices for the two options of fixes - no stressful up-selling or price-hiking. Long story short: they knew I was in a hurry to get to work and sent someone to jump my car, sent another man to grab the new battery from a different shop, and proceeded to accommodate my needs in no time at all. I took my 95 Acura Integra to Lincoln Auto Electric when it was having problems starting. I knew it was related to the alarm. I told the Dealer it was related to the alarm. After days of going back and forth with the Dealer, I went to Ruben at Lincoln Auto Electric because it was the closest and towing is expensive; he stated right off the bat it was related to the alarm. Mean while the Dealer (Santa Monica Acura) still hadn't figured out what the problem was. He charged $80 (compared to the $800 the dealer wanted to charge me) and removed the alarm. haven't had a problem with it starting since. read more

(Endless seat belt pinging and light; mystery "service engine" light; and a related windshield wiper malfunction.) Ruben and Nick were friendly, professional, straightforward, honest and very accommodating-- real gentlemen of the old school. Totally candid in their diagnosis and recommendations; very efficient and effective in solving the problems promptly; they had the car ready when they said they would; and the price was entirely reasonable.
