So I recently had an oil change done here and felt compelled to leave a great review! I was in desperate need of an oil change--to the point where my check engine light had come on. I had originally gone to another nearby auto shop, but they were unable to service my vehicle because they were busy and I didn't have a reservation. I quickly searched Yelp for a nearby shop and came across this place. I called to let them know I was just around the corner, urgently needed an oil change, and had to get back to the office ASAP. They told me to come in and to my surprise attended to me fairly quickly. I was incredibly grateful because I knew they were busy and were doing me a HUGE FAVOR. Art was very kind, answered all of my questions, and performed a thorough check of the check engine light. Thankfully, the issue turned out to be caused by low oil. He also gave me helpful advice on how to better maintain my vehicle and stay on top of service appointments moving forward. Overall, my experience was honest, professional, and incredibly helpful. The pricing was competitive as well. read more

Great, honest shop with excellent prices! I am very price-conscious when it comes to car repairs, and Juan was able to help me out without breaking the bank. It is refreshing to find an honest shop that treats customers fairly and offers reasonable prices. I will definitely be going back to Arts Service for all my future auto repair needs. Highly recommend! read more

I love going to Art's Brake Service. Juan and Mark are always accommodating and great at what they do. I posted another review already, but it was attached to my other Yelp account. Search it on Monica S. Elite '26 read more

Chevy couldn't figure out the where the sensor was and needed to keep my car for 3 days. Art's found it in one visit and fixed it when the part was ordered and arrived. Reasonable prices as well read more

My advice to all customers: arrive when Art's opens and be open to making an appointment for the following day. This auto shop is always insanely busy because they are the most skilled, most reasonable, and most honest auto shop around. Juan and Mark, as always, took care of the problem my car was recently experiencing without charging an exorbitant price. My husband is the one who found them, and I've been taking my car to them ever since. I guarantee you will get better work and a better price than anywhere else. And if they can't do the work, they'll send you to another reliable and reasonable mechanic who can. One time my transmission was not shifting easily. Mark told me that, although they don't work on transmissions, he could refer me to a shop that did. The shop they sent me to could have lied to me and could have told me I needed a new transmission. Instead, they told me I just needed more transmission fluid, saving me thousands of dollars. Another time, I was skeptical of the service I had received from a different shop. I took my car to Juan who confirmed my suspicions: the other shop had not only NOT fixed the issue, but they also did not rotate my tires, as I had requested and as was one of the "perks" for purchasing tires from them. Juan showed me how to check for a tire rotation in the future and then rotated my tires without charging me, even though it wasn't his responsibility to do so. He could have told me to go back to the other shop, but he didn't I know nothing about cars, and as most women would agree, mechanics often try to take advantage, assuming that a woman won't know any better. Not this shop! They are the best around, and I will continue to go there for all my automotive needs. read more

It's definitely worth the reviews. This place is no nonsense very upfront very efficient. I needed to get my Subaru oil changed the day before a road trip and I swung by with very little notice. He took my phone number and told me he'd call me when they had space. Everything went exactly as I expected and pricing was fair. Will definitely be back any time I need something checked! read more

Well rounded and trusted shop. Always willing to go above and beyond to help. Go see Juan!

I thought they were a good shop because of the minimal work I had done there. Turns out they both don't even return a phone call when they say they will (both father and son). They were not knowledgeable about my vehicle but instead of just saying that they gave me the run around and made up stuff that the actually car brand dealer and another professional company said they never heard of. It was very disappointing. Not very responsible and have limited knowledge but mostly lied to me more than once. Don't waste your time or $. 2 thumbs down!!! read more

Very good brake mechanics and reasonable prices. Try this shop- there is a reason they are busy- word is out that the work quality is tops and they stand behind their work! read more

Not only did this gentleman stay after hours for my vehicle but did a kick add job because it was sounding like a screeching hot mess this morning. Thank you so much, Juan! I appreciate you!! read more

I stopped by in a state of emergency due to my brakes being so bad. The owner told me they were a little busy but if I waited he could help out. I'm leaving Long Beach next March, so I don't know if I'll be back. But Juan and team did a great job fixing my brakes. I work Monday-Friday, so I can only get things done on the weekends. No waiting area. Takes a couple of hours (3), but besides that, great service. If you look online and do your research, brakes can cost between 300-800$. I got my front and back completed, for mid range. Thank you again. I appreciate your help, 5/5 read more

My car had battery signal going on and off early morning before work. I had been here before for brakes and they did a great job then also . I dropped off my car and they checked it while I was at work long story short they called me to tell me it was the alternator !! They got it installed and ready by 4 pm when I got off work I dont live in the area so they really worked hard to get it done so fast and on time . I found some positive reviews about Art's on the Next Door and decided to take my car here. I needed to get my brakes done and had concerns about finding an affordable, reliable mechanic. Both Mark and Juan were helpful and provided me with professional, courteous service during our interaction. Initially, I planned on having my front brakes done but decided to have both front and back taken care of. They called me at home to tell me what was going on with the brakes, and showed me the parts when I picked it up. I am pleased with the service provided and will be going here for other service needs. read more

I read all the great reviews about Art's brake service, so when it was my time for a brake job I called. They quoted me a reasonable price. When I went into the shop a few weeks later, they said they would do an inspection and give me a call with their recommendation. To my surprise when they called, my vehicle only needed rear brakes and the cost was half of the cost that they originally quoted me. When does that ever happen?!?!?! Juan and his crew were great, finished on time and did a great job! read more

Changed the brakes to my 2017 Lexus here. Brakes were screeching after. Was told by this business that Lexus dealer sold me "bad parts." After returning to the dealer and even another auto shop, both advised that Art's auto incorrectly placed in my brakes. As well, rotors were not calibrated. Lexus dealer provided a video of their work as proof. Felt duped by the business being a female going in alone to change her brakes. read more

After waiting too long to get my brakes changed, I found a last stop shop before shelling out big money. Called up Juan and he told me to come on by. Was there in 15 minutes and he offered the BEST pricing among at least 20 other places I had checked with. Also, he did a great job and is very personable. You can even watch them work! (They have no customer waiting area so Uber or hang out and watch the pros to learn). This is my shop from here on out and I guarantee if you have brake or simple mechanical trouble, come here and see! My 2015 Kia rear brakes only cost me $90 in labor, plus parts. Then he even helped me with an oil change. read more

Juan is a good and trustworthy dude. I've been having my car serviced here for over 5 years, and I've never been disappointed. I recently had some issues with my brakes and got a quote from a spot out in LA since I had been staying in the area. The quote seemed a bit high, so I called Juan to see what he thought. He agreed and estimated I would spend at least $300 less than what I was quoted if I got the service with them. Since I needed immediate service, I got a portion of the job done in LA but will be taking my car to Art's for the rest. I'm grateful to have this quality and trustworthy service close to home. Needless to say, I won't be going elsewhere for brake services again. read more

Found this place on yelp. I needed my brakes repaired and Juan was able to give me an estimate in about 5 minutes. His price was way more reasonable than the other 2 places I received estimates from. I knew I needed brakes because it felt a little strange but since it never actually "squeaked", I didn't bring it in until it had gotten to the point of no return. Yes, I needed rotors and pads, but like the previous reviews have noted, I didn't feel taken advantage of and the price was fair for the work done. Thank you Juan and my lesson from this experience is when things start feeling different, bring your car to get checked out and avoid further damage or more extensive repair. 5 stars on customer service and satisfaction for a job well done. read more
