This is an awful oxygen company. Their corporate office has 0 customer service, lies to their customers and seems to think its ok. Oxygen is necessary to live. If your customer is telling you there is a problem with their Oxygen equipment then fix it!!!! read more

My husband's Dr recommended a CPAP machine for mild Apnea and recommended that he "rent" from Lincare, because after a certain amount of payments, the machine would be "paid off." This is not a "rent to own" at all. A more accurate statement would be to say that after a time they stopped charging us rent, and start charging us mandatory "maintenance", which we would have been obligated to pay, forever. My husband stopped using the CPAP but kept it. After several years it was "paid off" - then the "maintenance" fees started. Since he never used it, it didn't need maintaining. He viewed this "maintenance" fee as an extended warranty, and called Lincare and said he didn't want it. In turn, Lincare submitted him to a collections agency (for refusing to pay the $25.34 maintenance fee). Lincare told us that we never owned the machine, and we would never be able to stop paying maintenance on their equipment. To avoid problems I paid the bill and took the CPAP back to them. Caveat emptor- I'm sure all this as buried in fine print in the contract. My husband was stupid to trust his Doctor's recommendation and this company. So here is my recommendation. Before you do business with Lincare, read everything you sign. Everything. Do an analysis and see if you are better off buying your own. Ask the company what exactly are you obligated to pay, and for how long. Ask what their legal obligations are, in providing equipment and services, and in what time. And, ask your Doctor if Lincare is your only option, and why exactly they are recommending Lincare. Does anybody here has had a better experience at another company. My doctor gave me a prescription to get a new CPAP machine because the one I have is about 8 years old. I have been dealing with Lincare for about a month to get a new CPAP machine and not having any luck. They keep on taking my number and telling me someone will call back. Then I get a call back and they tell me my doctors order is not very clear. So I had my doctors office send them another prescription. Now back to zero and the phone game starts again. I am strongly thinking of filing a report with the county board office f consumer affairs and the state medical board. This is incompetency at the highest level. Yes, they are bad, but no providers I have tried are any better! I have found that I must find the right person to talk to as well as insist they put notes from my phone conversations in their database. I also visit the Chantilly VA office directly to get my supplies when possible. The people there know what they are doing when I speak to them about my CPAP needs. So I have not had problems others are writing about. It is a sad medical situation compounded by poor customer service training and bad database accuracy. Probably five or six years ago, I got my CPAP from the Chantilly, Virginia Lincare. They were very helpful, pleasant and I was thoroughly satisfied with my treatment and the equipment. This past year, I told my doctor I wasn't getting supplies automatically. He called them and (I guess) in the information and I got a call the next day. What a bad experience. It's been 3 weeks since my prescription was sent from the sleep doctor for a desperately needed mask, filter and hose for my cpap machine. I called Lincare last week to make sure they got the fax from my doctor's office and was told they had and I would be called back very soon. No return call... I phoned my doctor's office this morning for another alternative and this afternoon I had a message on my answering machine from Lincare to followup (coincidence, I think not). In the meantime, I called Quality DME of Fairfax this morning, bada bing, bada boom, I've got all the necessary supplies in hand! I'm very irritated at myself for not taking action sooner and realizing I could use other companies with my healthcare coverage. I have called five times to order equipment, they can find my account, tell me what equipment I am eligible for, confirm that the order has gone through, but it is never shipped. Not only is this the worst supply or healthcare experience I have had in my life it is simply the worst customer service experience I have ever had from any company in my life. They where rude, disrespectful, and showed total lack of regard for my healthcare. I repeatedly called to follow up and they repeatedly had done no progress on my prescription. It literally go to the the place where 4 months of leaving my health uncared for had passed. When I called to ask to speak to a supervisor, i was actually told by an employee that "if i did not like the service I come pick up my paper work and go elsewhere." These people simply do not care about you in the least. Don't put you healthy at risk. I literally could here the person on my case snickering on the other end when I told them my health was at risk. Lincare accounting is awful! My husband has had the same 2 insurances for over 20 years and been using Lincare for most of that time. No problems until a few years ago. In the past several years, they have LOST his secondary information every single month and I have to call them to tell them what it is. We get a bill, it's too high, I check the secondary insurance and they actually call Lincare to help out and Lincare assures me it's taken care of. And it hasn't been for over 2 years. Also, they keep billing us for amounts that are incorrect; they bill me a different amount than they bill the insurance company! We maxed out our out of pocket July 2018 and they keep billing us for September charges. No amount of calls from our insurance company has changed it. The sad part is people are getting these bills and paying them and Lincare is the only one profiting. It really is fraud. read more

I have been using Lincare in Chantilly for the past 5 months. Over that period we have two delivery men. For the first three months, Michael was our delivery driver and the last two months Brian has been making the deliveries. Both men were kind and very professional every time they came to our home. This place is the worst. My mom has severe COPD and requires oxygen around the clock. Despite having a prescription from her pulmonologist for both a home oxygen concentrator and a portable concentrator, Lincare insists that she must have the home concentrator for a month before they will approve her for a portable concentrator. Fine. She takes the home concentrator along with several small but lead-heavy oxygen tanks to use while out. Of course, the small tanks are far too heavy for her to haul around with her reduced lung capacity, but she does her best. A month rolls by and she calls for her portable concentrator. Lincare can't have her portable concentrator in for six weeks. Six weeks. Despite having a prescription on file. They gave some lame excuse about their warehouse in Florida and ordering one and something or another. I can't believe they don't keep any in stock (surely other people get them?) and I'm flabbergasted that they made my mother wait this long just to make her wait again. Now Mom gets to drag ten-ton little tanks well into December despite being barely able to walk while carrying her purse while Lincare "orders her portable concentrator" and gripes about how "they just delivered to her" when she calls to request more oxygen tanks. These guys are tools, and if I knew of another durable equipment company that would take her insurance, I'd say screw them. Unfortunately, they seem to be her only option. read more

From the pulmonologist to insurance to medical equipment suppliers, the path was tortuous and complex. Once we reached Lincare to set up oxygen set up for my 99-year-old mom in an independent living facility, the process really fell out. Over 1 month of us calling Lincare, we NEVER received a single callback. Today we called yet again to tell them we were switching providers, and they said the oxygen was en-route and would be delivered today. We live over an hour away from my mom's apartment building. We tried to catch up to find out what equipment they were planning to deliver, and found it to be older refurbished units, and too heavy and short-lived for mobile use. On the phone we talked with multiple persons, and were met with excuse after excuse for never having received callbacks. We are mid-switch to another company, and canceled the Lincare contract to much protest from the representatives. In my mind, a worthless company. Worthless. The last 3 times I have ordered oxygen equipment from Lincare in Chantilly they have failed to process the order after taking it over the phone and assuring me it was being processed. Each time when I called back after a week they would say they found my order and a new person on the desk had failed to process it correctly. This is really getting old. read more

Lincare is a terrible service provider. I called them early in the morning because my oxygen concentrator was malfunctioning and asked them to come out sometime that day - ANYTIME that day - to repair it. They said they would send someone out. They didn't. Instead, a guy just showed up at the front door 32 hours later, i.e. the next day, without calling ahead. We were out of the house, so he just left a note saying "sorry we missed you." As if someone was supposed to stay in the house nonstop until they were pleased to send someone by. I've been using Lincare for years with no problems. Then all of a sudden they changed hose supplies from AG Industries to Sunset. I've gotten two hoses from them to date and both failed because they are made of lightweight materials and are cheaper. One developed cracks and leaked. I attempted using duct tape but it doesn't stick very well and eventually it failed too. When I got my second hose soon after I started using it, the hose delaminated from the coils and the hose collapsed making my CPAP unusable since I couldn't breathe. I contacted the local distributor and was told that they only do oxygen and new setups. So I called Lincare HQ. I talked with a nice enough person who said that they would get to the bottom of the problem, but for me to call back to the local office and they should be able to exchange my defective hose for a new one. So I called the number for the new CPAP set up and was told that it's impossible for them to do that. They can only exchange unopened like items. Since mine was open and had failed they wouldn't make an exchange or give me a replacement. I was also told that even if I hadn't opened it, they couldn't exchange it for the type of hose I used to get since that was a different cost item. So I called HQ Lincare back and got a different person from the one on my first call. She listened to me and said, "Just a minute." The next thing I knew I was talking to someone else who asked what I wanted and who I was. I asked who this was and she told me she was in the warehouse. I gave her all my information again and she told me that there was nothing she could do; they no longer carried the hose I had used before. Plus she told me that she couldn't send me a new hose until after the 31st (today is the 16th). It didn't matter that I couldn't use my machine. I called my insurance company who gave me the names of other providers in my area that are covered. One of them was Sleep Med Therapy Services. When I call them they not only set me up to transfer my care over to them, but they sent me a free hose so I could use my machine before I was even signed up as a client! read more

Customer Service is HORRIBLE! They scheduled a date to pick up their supplies and machine. They never showed up or called. When I called them to see why they never arrived, they told me I'd have to wait another week for them to come pick it up. Denise, the person in the Richmond office was RUDE. I called the corporate office and they refused to allow me to speak with anyone in Administration. Trust me, that bill will continue to come though. They are unresponsive, miss appointments, don't return calls, and frankly they don't seem to give a single damn about any of their customers/patients. I picked Lincare because it was the closest DME company listed as being in-network for my insurance. Big mistake. Always read the Yelp reviews first. My doctor faxed over my CPAP supply prescription, and then I sat back to wait. Two weeks went by, and I called Lincare and asked about the status of my order. After being forwarded around from one office to another, finally someone told me that my order was on hold because Lincare of Virginia couldn't act on it because I was a previous client of Lincare of Massachusetts. I said 1) I hadn't lived in Massachusetts in three years, 2) I had only gotten a mobility device from Lincare of Massachusetts, not CPAP supplies, and 3) my current insurance was only valid for Virginia providers anyway. Nevertheless, I was told that Lincare of Massachusetts would have to be my CPAP supplier. Bureaucratic madness, especially since neither branch of Lincare was going to bother to inform me that my order was dead in the water because neither branch considered me to be their patient. It was like being in a restaurant with two waiters, both of whom insisting, "Sorry, not my table." After reading the Yelp reviews of several other local DME companies in northern Virginia, I ended up going with Quality DME. Smooth sailing. I'm going to leave a five-star review for them. read more

I came home from the hospital on 24 hour a day oxygen therapy after complications from abdominal surgery. The delivery person arrived and seemed put out that I hadn't been available at 9am for delivery (I wasn't discharged until 2pm) and that it was a Saturday. But everyone has bad days so I brushed it off. I called on the following Tuesday because I had doctors appointments for followups and would need more portable tanks. They said they would deliver Wednesday afternoon. Nobody showed. Again, mistakes get made, right? I called Thursday and after much confusion, I'm assured I will get a delivery Friday late afternoon. This was prefect as I had 2 appointments and would be gone most of the morning and early afternoon. I got home at 3pm, totally out of portable oxygen, and wait. Again, no show. I call Saturday. I'm told they are contacting the driver and to hold the line. After a few minutes I'm told the driver is with a new client (reasonable answer) and someone will call me back. I receive no call. Call back today. I'm essentially trapped in my home, now. I explain this to the phone operator, and that twice deliveries were not made. She assures me my call will be returned. Oh it was returned, all right. I was informed, very rudely, that "routine" deliveries are not made on the weekends and I should plan better. What?!?! I retell my story and explain this is NOT acceptable. This isn't how you treat a patient. This was NOT poor planning on my part. He said they would deliver on Tuesday. I asked if this is how patients are normally treated. I also said I would be contacting my doctor and having service switched to another company. His response? Good. Seriously? Before I became disabled, I worked in the medical field. This is NOT how you treat a patient on oxygen, or ANY patient. read more

So far Lincare is striking out. They have been my CPAP provider for three years now. I called in for resupply and read them the reauthorization and I was told that was fine. Apparently not. They disenrolled me last year and failed to tell me that. In addition, no one bothered to let me know they would not be shipping me supplies until they heard from my physician. I called because I had not received the supplies they said they would send and that's when I found out about the problem. No notification from them. I am giving a 5 star review ONLY BECAUSE OF THE NICE LADY I SPOKE TO YESTERDAY AND AGAIN THIS MORNING. The lady's name is Mel and she was the nicest customer service person I have spoken to there in all these years. Also, very efficient. Previously I have had some very grumpy people answer the phone and one lady who fitted me for a mask was just plain awful. Her name, I think, was Stephanie, and she said she was from New York and at least 5 times told me how much she HATED VIRGINIA! After that many times I finally suggested to her that she return to New York since she hates our state so much! That is so rude! She also claimed she would add me to the email list so I would get emails like my husband does, letting me know what I am eligible for, so I can just email my supply needs. She never did that. So I had to call and get it done myself. Anyway, thank you to Mel for being so pleasant, smart and efficient. Update! Mel the nice lady, set it up for me to sign online for my equipment and had a lady named Grace call me for payment. Grace was also very nice! Thank GOD a friend knew to check it and when she did,,,,, there was mold and dead bugs in the compartment (that we didn't know about) that is what she had been breathing for over a year! 24 hospitalizations for breathing problems. I have never been so incensed by incompetence as I have with these clowns. I tell them I have a broken machine and I gave them a prescription for a new one. One week goes by, and I call again -- they say they're working on it. Two weeks goes by, and I call again -- Every time I call, they say they can't find my prescription or file -- and every time, after some Q&A, they somehow find it. Again they say they're working on it. A month goes by, and I call again. We go through the Q&A and they magically find my file. They say they need to transfer my records from Lincare in Philly. Ok, I say. Why don't you get on that? Two more weeks go by, and I call again. So far they have not called once to let me know what's going on. Apparently when their process breaks down, they just throw your file in the bin, and you'll never hear from them. Again the Q&A, and again, they magically find my file. This time they tell me that Lincare in Chantilly is unable to talk to Lincare in Philly... Apparently I have to do this. Why not tell me that 6 weeks ago? So I call Lincare in Philly. Several times. And Several weeks later, they finally transfer the records. So I call Lincare in Chantilly again. We go through the Q&A and they find my records (which were transferred), but somehow my original file with the original prescription I submitted is now lost. Argh!!! I give up. Negative experience with Lincare. Their service is horrible! No follow up and follow through on anything regarding CPAP.

We used Lincare for wheelchair and motorized bed rentals. The bed is ok, but the wheelchair is not a good fit, and they have only 1 model. When I asked for them to remove the bedrails, they kept trying to pickup at my home instead of the facility to which they originally delivered. No customer support to speak of, e.g. fitting the equipment to the patient. read more

After a month of waiting for Lincare to schedule my father's nebulizer, they finally have someone call - like 15 times trying to get schedule delivery and setup of the nebulizer. "Debbie" at the Chantilly office was less than stellar in her administrative abilities. Said that a technician was scheduled, technician didn't show. Scheduled again, technician showed but only about 5 hours earlier than the scheduled appt, thus, I missed an appt that I had scheduled. I wouldn't call this person a technician. More like a delivery person who opened the box, connected the tube and said "here you go." No medicine was delivered. No instructions were reviewed. A monkey could have put this thing together, Low, low marks for all staff of Lincare. I do feel bad for the "technician" that had to listen to my rant. He's just a cog in the wheel. It wasn't his fault. Oh, well, I think the only thing Lincare cares about is their monthly Medicare billing. read more

AVOID these scam artists if at all possible!!!! I had tried returning several oxygen items --- and tried and tried and tried. At first, I had spoken by phone with someone in Chantilly who had told me that they would call back with a pickup time. No callback. So I called again, but same deal. And I tried a THIRD time - still no deal. And a FOURTH!! Finally, over the space of nearly THREE months, someone did come to pick up the items. And then the bills began coming --- charging me for TWO MONTHS of use although I not only had not been using them but had kept trying to return them. Multiple phone calls and FOUR notes to them and STILL the bills. Needless to say, I refuse to pay for those months that THEY neglected to respond or to pick them up.
