Tried to contact the Chantilly, VA office. Every phone number I tried, and there are many, all routed to the main call center. When I did speak with an actual person I was told that I had to contact the local office. When I was finally routed to the Chantilly office the representative hung up on me. This is on top of the patient portal not working, and having to speak with the call center each month to order supplies. No automatic delivery for Medicare patients and I have to declare all current supplies as "dirty" before new ones are sent out. This is regardless of their actual state. Miserable experience. I hope my discussion with a thoracic goes well so I can have an Inspire device. read more

Billing is terrible. They don't send invoices to your email and don't send you mailed invoices. If you go online to sign in you need a customer or account number but if you don't have an invoice, where they tell you to get the account number by the way, you can't log on to get the information. Was disconnected from customer service and didn't get a call back. If they did call back their call didn't identify as Lincare and with all the spam there is no way I'm able to answer unidentified calls. read more

Each time I have called over the past several weeks one of the 3 following things have happened: 1. I get put on hold immediately without speaking to anyone, then the automated holding music/service eventually gives up and I get hung up on. 2. Someone answers and says please hold, then the automated holding music/service eventually gives up and I get hung up on. 3. Someone picks up and I explain my issue and they say hold a moment while they look into my issue then the automated holding music/service eventually gives up and I get hung up on. Lincare is by far the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. The worst part is I have no choice. There is no alternative to this abysmal nightmare of a company. I have a broken cpap machine and they have had my order for 3 weeks and I cannot get a hold of anyone who will help. I have called their corporate office and reached their 'we care' line and been hung up on twice in the exact same manner as described above. Wow. Truly a disaster at all levels. 10 stars if I could! My doctor sent an urgent order for a new Cpap. I received a call later that day just to let me know they had received it and were already working it on a Friday. The beginning of the week they called to say they had it and to set up the appointment. Everyone I spoke with was friendly and knowledgeable. I had to cancel the appointment just a couple of hours before due to snow. The kind gentleman I spoke with was very helpful and understanding and rescheduled me for yesterday. The staff I met when I arrived were speaking with another patient, and they were courteous and friendly. My clinician, Abby, was simply wonderful. She was warm and understanding of my serious medical issues. She took the time to make sure I completely understood everything about the new machine and how the process works with Medicare. I realize that many people who use Cpaps have serious illnesses and just want their machines or supplies right away. But, insurance rules how the process takes place, and often it's not a quick authorization. Lincare has to abide by those rules and regulations. There are all kinds of reasons for delays, but from what I saw and heard, they are trying their best to assist the patients. read more

The office in Chantilly is awful! I called to asked about a repair to my machine and the rep hung up twice on me. Then they claimed the office manager was out when I asked to speak to someone about it. Left a message and asked for a return call - never happened. Called the main corporate office and shared this incident - they claimed they would look into it and get back to me - nothing was done. I still have a machine that needs a repair. Update - Manager at Lincare Kelly claims she returned my call twice? I have an Iphone, no record of any call or voice mail - phone works fine. Very sad state of customer care. Corporate customer care just goes through the motions - they also don't care, which makes perfect sense. read more

Every number I was given to reach my "assigned" representative took me to the wrong department. No one could tell me the reps name or give me a direct number to that person. Each day I received at least two voicemails that asked me to call a general number...that no one answered. A very simple phone etiquette solution could have been used. For two days now I have been trying to get a previously ordered O2 concentrator for my home reinstated because my portable stopped working. I needed Oxygen now. After getting the runaround this morning and the person in the phone not wanting to accept my Dr's written prescription from me but to talk to her directly, I waited all damn day for a call back and never got one. So I called the branch this evening, told them I had the Dr order/Rx and they told me to fax it to them but there was nothing they could do this evening since they were closing soon. I told her I did not have a landline and could not fax. I ask if I could email it to her and was told they do not accept faxes. She told me to go to the emergency room!!!! At this point, leaving me with out oxygen and not returning my early morning request at all is so not worthy of using them again. There has to be a other home service business near me. If there was a negative rating, I would offer it to Lincare. They basically own the enteral feeding market, and exploit their monopoly to the extent possible. I have a son with enteral feeding needs, and Lincare routinely misses out on shipments of critical equipments or feeding supplies. Today I was informed by a seemingly uninterested representative that they do not have the option to resupply an item that had gone missing from my last shipment - without which we cannot feed our son - and that I should file a police report, according to their "protocols". Well, the only police report I'd love to file is one against this awful company, for their criminal negligence that leaves patients without critical medical supplies. I have to admit I didn't go into this appt with my mom with high hopes. My husband's experience with billing, supplies and general customer service has been horrific. Last time he told them not to ever call him again...So we headed here reluctantly for my 80 year old mother to be fitted for a CPAP machine. The office looks like a prison waiting room and though we were ten minutes early they were running 15 minutes behind. Finally we were called back by Abby who did an excellent job of explaining the machine and options to my mom and understood my body language and looks when the explanation was too complex for my mom to take in. She found a mask my mom selected and promised her options if this one was too complicated all with a cherry and reassuring demeanor. What a shining light you have with Abby! I called yesterday or ask for a different type of mask for my CPAP machine as I recently fell and broke my nose and the cushions did not work well anymore. I told the kind and interested woman who assisted me, and she assured me I would receive the new mask by the next evening. Well I did!!! I couldn't ask for better service. read more

The Chantilly office is horrible. I just made my third call to them in 3 weeks trying to order cannulas. I still don't have the cannulas. This happens almost every time I need supplies. It takes two or three calls before I am able to get the supplies I need. Almost every time someone will say that the last person I talked to didn't put the order in correctly. Today, I was told they cancelled my order because they no longer carry one of the items I ordered. I asked why they didn't send the remainder of my order or at least give me a call. Ashlynn, did show me how to care for the cpap machine but was not concerned with making sure the cpap mask was the right fit for my daughter. and when I wanted to return one for another I was told my insurance would not pay for another and I told her I would pay cash for it she set me up with an appointment to come in just for her to call and tell me she had a migraine and would not be there but someone up front would help me. When I got there someone else did help me but Ashlynn came out of the printing room, I hate to be lied to. Needless to say after that I had no use for her. My supplies were mailed for a few months then the insurance wanted it done local so that put it back in Ashlynn's hands. I had to text her and let her know we needed supplies, she ordered them and I got them in May. It is now October 10th and nothing. My sister in law died over 3 weeks ago and the equipment is still in her hallway. Promises for pickup on several occasions but the family still has to see it every day. I called again and receptionist just disconnected us when I asked yet again, who is coming ? Use any other vendor, they are truly a terrible service company. Not a fan. Called out of the blue. Left cryptic message to call at a number. Had to call multiple times to reach someone, who had no idea what who they were calling about. Eventually determined call was about a device I had returned four years ago that they didn't do their paperwork. The representative was argumentative and refused to make notes in record so the next poor did would have the history, The whole experience was unpleasant and took far longer than necessary to correct a problem of their own making. I am very dissatisfied with the service I received from Lincare. I received a bill for services rendered which were already paid for by my health insurance providers. After several attempts to locate the Lincare office where I could talk to an actual person in the billing department I was assured by Lincare that the bill had been paid and that I did not owe any monies. The next thing I knowt I receive a notice from a debt collector saying I still owed this funds. In addition, Lincare did not provide the proper size nasal mask (they issued me a smaller nasal mask) that was on the Bi-pap machine order from the medical firm who conducted the sleep apnea testing. read more

If I could give this business zero stars, I'm not sure that would be good enough. They used to be good back in 2012 when I needed supplies before they no longer took my insurance. Now, they are awful. I only went back to them after changing insurances because they had been such a great asset back in 2012. But something happened between 2012 and 2018 and they are no longer the great company they were in 2012. I had an account, they had to re-activate it. Fine, no problem. I had to fax, not email, not scan and email, only fax my prescription to them before they could activate the account. Now 10 days later, after two other phone calls between then and now, they still haven't activated my account. They claim not to have my insurance information, which I gave them the day of the first phone call. This is pure crap and incompetence. What if I really needed the supplies right now?!? Technically I do need CPAP supplies as I haven't had any new supplies in over 10 months because I changed insurances and just waited. I'll go somewhere else, somewhere new, that can actually provide me quality supplies as the reviews here absolutely stink and basically so does your service. So much freaking incompetence, everyone blaming someone else. read more

My wife of 52 years has had breast cancer for 9 years. On Jan 3rd '24 it was determined after extensive and invasive testing that the cancer, previously metastasized to lymphatic system has invaded her lungs, due to debilitating shortness of breath and incapacitating continuous cough, our wonderful pulmonologist orderrd several oxygen devices from Lincare. We we given a cylinder on a cart as a temporary solution until the more permanent ones arrived, expected the next day. When that didnt happen, I attempted to call them to check status, because our 02 only lasted 4-5 hours. I took it to the hospital to swap it our with the phone to my ear on hold with Lincare. I arrived at the parking garage up through the elevator expecting to lose signal , and arrived at the pulmonology clinic, still on hold, 35 minutes. A voice came on and searched for our order, 10more minutes. Finally, it was located and I asked for delivery status. The person said oh, Im just the answering service but will send email to " the center" with your concerns. A half hour later as I entered the house, my wife said she just hung up with Lincare who said delivery would occur that day. It was 3 PM on a thurs. No deliveries were made. On Fri earlt I contacted the nurse who place the order asking if she might help. She contacted Lincare who said the would contact us. The call came in a second time promising that the delivery would be made that day, Friday. It did not. I expect to have to take my wife to the ED to help relieve her symptoms which our short time on the O2 did. This medical supply company should not be the choice for medical providers. I see they are rated barely above 1 star for 84 reviews, clearly very incompetent. I suggest anyone in this situation demand your dr use another company. I have been using Lincare for 13 years. I used to get a call from Lincare every month asking me if I needed supplies. The service from the local office at Chantilly, VA, was A+. That stopped when Lincare suffered a number of mergers. It was bought by a German company, Linde. Linde, through Lincare, has since bought up and merged with a number of other medical providers serving the US and Canada. Now, things are confused with the different Lincare offices warring over who does what to whom. The local office says that it can no longer provide more than 30-days of CPAP supplies. Everything else must come from the HQ in Clearwater, FL. The Clearwater office relates that customer data now resides in multiple computer systems ... the result of mergers I suppose. They now have to go back and forth between multiple systems to link personal data, insurance information, orders, etc. That's why my insurance was screwed up and Lincare tried to bill me for things covered by my secondary insurance. The final straw was when my pulmonary doctor recently prescribed a new ResMed Airsense 10 CPAP machine and heated hose for me through Lincare. The order sat at the Clearwater office for a month without action. I finally called to sort things out. The Airsense 10 arrived two weeks later without the heated hose the doctor had ordered. I bought and paid for a heated hose online as an alternative to waiting two more weeks for a Lincare hose delivery. My doctor has ordered a BIPAP machine for me. Given his experience with Lincare, he is moving me to a different provider. I received a call from the new provider the day after the prescription was sent to let me know the paperwork was in order. The agent said that I would receive a call within 24 hours to schedule the delivery of the new machine and accessories. Not all mergers go well. It appears that Lincare's days are numbered with this merger-related collapse in its organizational structure and service. read more

Please share this suggestion to other patients. 5 months with a bipap machine that I cannot use. They are either incompetent or a scam. They deny receiving scripts from my doctor for a month now. Disconnect your call repeatedly after long hold times over 35 min. They have taken your information but do not call you when this happens. I've had a CPAP for over a decade. I have had the pleasure of dealing with good companies, and the misfortune of dealing with poor ones. I can wholeheartedly say that Lincare has earned the dubious distinction of being the worst, and I haven't even GOTTEN my new CPAP from them yet! Sleep study on 7/24. Doc reviewed the results and passed on to Lincare on 7/25. I went out of town that Wed, so didn't think to follow up till that next Monday. I was told that I would receive a call back the next day to discuss my treatment. No call. I waited till Thursday because I know that sometimes things take a while, and that I need to be patient. I called again, and was told that my case was "under review." When I inquired as to how long that typically takes, I was told 3-4 business days. I mentioned that they had my prescription on 7/25, and that SURELY any review should have already taken place by now. I was told that an "intake specialist" would call me back and discuss my case. No call. Again, realizing that patience is a virtue I waited till Tues 8/8 to call again. This time, I was told that the problem is that the doc only sent over the "order" and not the prescription itself. When I asked why I did not receive a call when they discovered said error, they "just found it the other day." They said they would call the doc "right after we get off the phone" and I was *ASSURED* that there would be a phone call letting me know if, in fact, they were able to get everything from the doc. Yes, you guessed right--no call. So today, I decided to call and find out where I stand. Apparently, they got everything from the doc. Now my case is "under review" to determine if I need a pre-auth. When I asked why this was not done during the first "review" back in July, they had no answer. When I asked why they never called me back to let me know that they did receive the info from the doc, they had no answer. When I asked how long pre-auth takes, they said "up to 30 days." I was then told, assured, and promised that they would call my insurance company and get the pre-auth TODAY, and that they would call me and let me know. I just got off the phone with my insurance company. No pre-auth requests have been made. I have not received any phone calls today. I am done with Lincare. If this is how they treat people before giving them anything, I can only imagine how they treat people after they have. I'm giving Quality DME my business. UPDATE: I visited the office this morning (8/17), after waiting three days for my promised fourth return call that never happened. I asked for my records, and was asked "Why do I want them?" I calmly explained what's happened, and then the receptionist took my info. When she came back with my records, I signed for them and then she closed the window on me. No apology, no concern, not even a "Sorry you had to drive here and show up in person." I guess this happens a lot.... read more
