Lomo Saltado
Victoria S.

Limon has generally been a decent experience for me, though I've often felt the pricing doesn't quite match the quality of the food. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was especially disappointing. I ordered the Lomo Saltado for takeout, and even within a few bites before leaving, I noticed I was having to chew a lot more than usual. The texture was both rubbery and dry, and it required far more chewing than expected. After getting home, I set a few pieces aside to take a closer look, and parts of the meat also appeared undercooked. The texture issues were already present before I left the restaurant, even after I gently reheated the dish at home. Overall, the dish fell well below what I would expect. Another issue from this visit was the inconsistency with takeout service. In my recent experiences over the past couple of weeks, utensils are rarely offered unless specifically asked for, and in most cases not mentioned at all during pickup. It feels like an oversight in the pickup process that should be more consistently handled, either by including utensils automatically or at least asking the customer. Considering everything from this experience, it's unlikely I'll be ordering the Lomo Saltado again.

Nice interior and pleasant service. I like most of what we ordered- octopus dish was tasty and tender, crispy pork came with a very palatable fried rice, paella had generous protein, beed rib looks dry but it was not, ceviche was refreshing and acted like a palate cleaner. The only thing I regret ordering was their Pollo Ala Brasa- the akin tasted good but the actual meat is very dry. I would go back but will not order the chicken.

Amazing as always. The Lomo Saltado never disappoints. I could probably eat it every day even though I definitely shouldn't. It was a lively night to be there as we forgot it was Mother's Day when we made the reservation, oops.

Passion Fruit Pisco Sour

Had a great lunch yesterday. We were welcomed right when we arrived and seated near the large window looking out to the street. Our server was very friendly and service was excellent. We started with their Passion Fruit Pisco Sour. Lucious frothy egg white foam topped a yummy passionfruit base. Next we had the Limon Ceviche plate, served with Taro chips, Chicken Empanadas, Camarones Crocantes and Truffle Mac and Cheese. Food was all delicious, well seasoned and flavorful.

First visit food we ate and in a week we did our second time there having been such Burlingame food fan, we never step into this place until this April (2026)

Fabulous from top to bottom. Service was top end and the ceviche, empanadas, flat iron steak, and chicken were sound and delicious. The place can get a little loud so keep that in mind if you are looking for a place that is more reserved. It's has a good atmosphere here!

I came here for dinner with my family. It's a bit overpriced for what you get, and the meat was on the dry side. Food is a little bit bland. The ceviche was the best part of the meal. Not the best overall, but still decent. Our server was very friendly too and kept checking in on us. It was such a busy night with lots of customers.

Whole Chicken ($38)

Been here a bunch of times and Limon continues to be a solid option on the corner of Burlingame Ave. Most recently came on a Thursday around 6pm and were seated immediately without a reservation, which was a nice surprise. The space itself is lively but not chaotic, and it's one of those places that works just as well for a casual weeknight dinner as it does for a low-key date. This visit, my husband and I shared the Jalea ($24) to start and ordered the whole chicken ($38). We subbed the house salad for their signature chifa vegetables (worth the extra $2). The Jalea is a classic fried seafood platter - nothing mind-blowing, but you really can't go wrong with it and it's great for sharing. The chicken is where Limon usually shines. It was cooked perfectly, super juicy, and shredded apart easily. That said, I'm personally not a huge fan of their aji amarillo sauce. It's bold and tends to overpower the already well-seasoned chicken. The chifa vegetables are a must-order every time. Savory and easily one of the best sides on the menu. I've also had their ceviche and lomo saltado on past visits, both of which were excellent and among the safer bets here. Service has consistently been attentive and efficient, even when the restaurant is busy. My only real knock is that it's a bit pricey for what you get, especially if you're ordering multiple dishes or drinks. That said, the quality and consistency usually make it worth it. Overall, a dependable Burlingame staple that I keep coming back to, especially when I'm craving Peruvian flavors and a comfortable, energetic atmosphere.

The food was like "bouquets" of seafood, the way they plattered it. I've had amazing seafood, but the seafood dishes we had at Limón were extraordinary! The color pops in the food presentation were just as vibrant as the Peruvian culture itself. Some of those dishes were enough for two. The combo appetizer alone could've been a meal. Plus their cocktails - whoa! Can I call them healthy? Ahaaaha, well their mocktails certainly were. We had wonderful service by informative waiters. The feel is what I'd call elegant casual. All the decor on their walls and tiling around their bar area are beautiful! Limón in Burlingame is well-located in a corner with entrances on both facing streets. It's right behind a parking lot and directly across additional parking closer to the water. A good amount of indoor and outdoor seating is accessible. This area is hoppin'! Surrounded by local specialty shops, more restaurants, and bakeries - anyone living in the neighboring residential streets are mighty lucky! My cousins wanted to treat me for a super duper belated. I think I'm lucky too. I am giddy over this dining experience!

Always busy and a little noisy but good energy, friendly waitstaff. We always get the roasted chicken with comes with 2 sides, veggies and French fries are our go to. Another favorite is the cauliflower which is really good. We saw so many people ordering the ceviche that we had to try it. It was great. We also tried the fish which had a lot of stuff in it. Not sure I would order it again though great bar any drink you want they have.

Pescado Entero

This place was amazing. As soon as you walk in the ambiance was filled with natural light and a busy service day. The food was amazing. 10/10 recommend. I had their pescado entero and paired it with a hefe weissbier (which was amazingly smooth for any of my beer drinkers). The staff were kind and they answered all our questions. Will definitely be back for more.

Mixto Clasico Ceviche
Grace L.

Our party of eight celebrated a friends' engagement here, and despite a rocky start, things worked out in the end. Although we made a reservation, we were seated half an hour late and not initially together. Six of us were at the main table, and two had to wait for the neighboring table to finish before joining. To make up for this inconvenience, they waived the outside dessert fee for our cake and gave the couple a passionfruit margarita on the house. For drinks, the sangria and lycheemelon cocktails were nice and not too sweet. The mixto clasico ceviche and ceviche Limon were delicious! The fish were tender, fresh, and high quality, and the sauces had the right balance of acid. The empanadas were crispy on the outside, not too greasy, and filled with hot, oozy fillings. The whole rotisserie chicken was decent although the breast meat was a tad dry and needed the aji amarillo sauce. The arroz con mariscos is a must! The seafood variety was cooked perfectly, and the rice was so flavorful. I wouldn't recommend the pork belly chaufa though because the pork belly was tough and dry. Overall, Limon is still my favorite Peruvian restaurant in the Bay, but I like the Mountain View location better.

ceviche
Donna T.

I fell in love with lomo saltado and ceviche through Limon. The pungent flavors are irresistible. You do have to order a side of taro chips for the ceviche, but that seems to be the norm everywhere else. Although I do feel as though they have been skimping on the steak quantity over the years. I also really enjoy their pork belly chaufa, which is basically pork belly fried rice. A bit unorthodox with the rest of the food selection, but I like their truffle mac and cheese as well. On the other hand, I didn't love their empanadas as I found them to be a bit dry. Service is normally on the slower side, but it is an extremely bustling restaurant. Definitely make sure you make a reservation before coming!

There is a commuter train station by it so you might be able to park there otherwise I'm not quite sure

Their rotisserie chicken with rice should be gluten free! Just ask for no sauce. I would double check with the restaurant to make sure.

Do you recommend making reservations or even accept reservations?

No, because they might just cancel your reservations last minute like they did for my family on Mother's Day.

Are you not on opentable any longer?

Hello, we are no longer on OpenTable. Thank you very much for your support.

Do they have a dessert menu?

Yes, they do - four deserts and few desert wines. Look under the menu photos on yelp - there are few pictures of a small desert menu. I am pretty sure it doesn't change much - it was the same few times I went.

Is the entire menu available to order for lunch? Or just the lunch specials? Thanks.

Our entire menu is available for lunch & dinner! We just have lunch specials that are available as well during lunch!

Does this location have a private room?

No! They just have open seating

Yes, walk ins are welcome

The restaurant was a little more than half full when we had dinner there on a Friday night and the ambiance is lively but not loud. We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was delicious, with very generous portion sizes that left us so full (with leftovers to spare). The ceviches were bright, limey, and tart in the best way, the chicken wings were crispy and juicy, the papa rellena was especially interesting (almost like an inside-out, deep-fried baked potato) with olives and raisins that were a pleasant surprise, and the lomo saltado was as comforting and dependable as it usually is. To top it all off, they even offer Peruvian beers, which was the perfect way to wash everything down. The location is a little bit odd but easy enough to find and park (there is plenty of parking across the main street in front of the BevMo if there isn't any directly in front of the restaurant).

It does NOT look spicy, but it is! I got the La Ronda Plate which had 3 items: combination plate of fried calamari, fish ceviche and seafood rice or seafood fried rice....everything was really good and fresh. It had flavor and really was cooked well, unlike the seafood and rice I had in Peru where my complaint was no flavor. Heck, go here and it will save you the plane fare! Got their Chicha Morada, pricey at $6.95 with purple corn pineapple & spices, I would probably not get this again because it was kind of like a bland drink to me...instead I would get their passionfruit drink next time. Both of us got their homemade flan which was a 5/5! Would definitely come back to try more dishes in the future.
