Attended a 50th dinner. Very nice inside with a long bar and a little outdoor seating Outback facing parking lot. We sat inside close to the bar which was more dimly lit than the other room which was more bright. It was a Saturday of a holiday weekend. I wished they had some Greek or festive music playing it was pretty quiet. The fish was super fresh. We had calamari, salad, dips and pita. My Bronzino didn't have any bones but my other friends did. Summary: don't expect Roslyn in Westbury. While the menus look the same, the food, service, and management are not as good. Advice to this location: break off and be something different - maybe offer different fare altogether. I'm a happy yelper and not one to be a squeaky wheel, especially for restaurants in these challenging times. However, there were some deficiencies here that even an easy going diner can't look past. ------ We were a table of four for dinner at 7PM on September 10, 2022. Upon arriving, the parking lot looked the same, as in the "car show" typical of Long Island restaurants. There was a custom coated Aston Martin DBX right out front. There is no valet, which is fine as there is plenty of parking. I prefer self parking anyway. When you walk in, you will feel more of a tavern vibe. There is a nice bar to the left with several TVs. The ceilings are noticeably low. The rest of the dining room was nice - button tufted decor, chic chandeliers, etc. it has a different look and feel from the Limani we have grown to love in Roslyn. While the menu looks the same, that's where the similarities end. The drinks are different (I was told the red wine sangria wasn't nearly as good). The food is different - Limani chips were clumped together, detail in the halloumi was sloppy - uneven cook (charred outside, hard center), the tomato salad had mushy tomatoes and wasn't dressed well. For entrees we ordered the go-to's as there were no specials. The proteins were not very good. The piece of salmon lacked the crisp of the skin, the branzino and the swordfish came out room temperature, and the potatoes on the dishes were different temps (hot on the salmon, barely warm and dry on the others). As someone who never sends anything back, I saw a look on my friends face who insisted we should. So we did. They "fixed" the two dishes, and while what came back to the table was now warm, the swordfish pieces had more bloodline than what one might expect for this restaurant. And those pieces were undercooked - swordfish no-no. The vegetables on the branzino came out untouched - not even a little more flame to heat them. The manager was awfully kind to comp those dishes, which was not requested, but warranted. Drinks were left empty, our sparkling waters weren't refilled (and room temperature bottles left on the table, not on ice like in Roslyn). The desserts were ok, Greek yogurt was delicious. The gelatos and sorbets were a nice touch. The cheesecake could have been passed. Unfortunately the desert spoon cut my lip. The spoon was knicked somehow, it had a serration, maybe it got caught in something. I should have told the server but at this point didn't want to make anymore of a situation. They might want to check the silverware before putting it on the table. After every meal in Roslyn, we leave elated. Last night, not so much. You win some and you lose some. Maybe a bad night??? Maybe indicative of bigger challenges? Idk. Being equidistant to Westbury and Roslyn - I'll see you in Roslyn next time. read more

Not too fast. Food... was eh... My mother ordered Chicken skewers and they were super tough, with way to heavily greased large fry wedges. She wrapped the whole thing an we left in the fridge for someone. Lol. My branzino was good... sides were a watery drab piece of cauliflower and broccoli along with 2 oily-ish lemon roasted potatoes. The Limani stack was super greasy like they had not changed the oil in a month. The octopus was good, branzino was very good, lobster pasta was mediocre at best, and halibut was also very good. We tried 3 desserts- all just OK. Overall for $250 for 3 of us and no alcohol, you can probably do better. It was fine. read more

Always a delicious time. We've been here 3 times since they've opened and the food and service are always consistently fantastic. The interior is beautiful inside, light open and airy inside just like Limani in Roslyn. This has definitely become one of our favorites. The octopus appetizer and the Limani chips are incredibly delicious. The chilean seabass and salmon were both cooked to perfection. It's right next to crest hollow.. interior decor beautiful, very attentive and professional staff, and amazing food. I have been to all of the Limani's on Long Island and this one is definitely better than the one in Commack.... (Roslyn is unmatched)...Not a bad thing, just the vibe in here was much more relaxed and chill... I personally thought the food was better. I don't recall filet mignon kebab on the Commack menu but they were delish. My gf and I opted to do price fixe; usual suspect ish. Pulpo, Greek salad, Branzino, filet kebabs, walnut? Cake, and sorbet ... $40 a clip... you cannot go wrong, it was perfect for us to split errrrythaaaaang. Great choice for splitting and def reasonable prices, in my opinion. We loved everything all the way down to their tzatziki.. so good. They have a nice little sexy bar area perfect for a rendezvous :) I'll be back. read more

If you're looking for a fancier place to dine-in amidst sheltering in place, check this place out. It wasn't crowded with only 4 tables seated in a large restaurant with a window view if you want a warmer experience. The food here was spot on for being tasty and aesthetically pleasing with the simplicity of flavor. The mussels, fried calamari, meatballs, kebabs, and lamb chops were cooked just right to be tender, juicy, and delicious. Even the Oniro drink with pomegranate juice, toasted bread with hummus, and arugula salad with figs and the dressing on the side were yummy. What impressed me was the pistachio gelato, which felt homemade and drove us nuts in a good way. The downside was the service. Although the wait staff was attentive, responsive, and efficient, I couldn't really understand them given their thick accent. They were helpful with suggestions and even addressed our concerns for a bitter drink by replacing it with something that was more like a refreshing lemonade. However, my two complaints are as follows: 1. They accidentally switched the gelato to a sorbet for strawberry ice cream even though I specifically instructed them that only the passion fruit was a sorbet. 2. There was a shard of plastic glass about the size of a fingernail in the sorbet that could've caused my parents, who are senior citizens, to choke. We didn't mention these issues because we enjoyed the rest of the meal and sympathized with their struggles to stay in business during this pandemic. However, I would encourage you to check each bite before swallowing because this could've been a serious health hazard. read more

But before that, I was brought some fresh bread (warm) with delicious EVOO and an olive paste - perfect w the well presented Greek salad - fresh big tomatoes, feta, etc. Ordered the whole fresh fish (branzino) w lemon potato and a little piece of broccoli and cauliflower. The prefix Sunday menu really was a delight. There was a good amount of choices for the entree. Grilled octopus, branzino and Greek yogurt. Octopus was on the smaller side but had a good char to it. The branzino was the star. As long as the fish is fresh, it is hard to mess up grilled fish. The grilling adds to the delicate flavor. The Greek yogurt with fruit and honey. Wow, it was a great way to end the meal. The yogurt was thick but not sour, honey was sweet and fruit balanced it both out. read more

We went here for an nice dinner on a Saturday and the place was not too crowded. It's rather large and is set up in tones of cream, blue and white giving it a very Greek sea feel. The drinks were ok, very small and expensive. The appetizers were amazing we got the mussels and feta baked in filo dough with candied cherries and honey on top. Dinner was the filet kabob and a nice seafood pasta. The dessert options were small but we did order a lovely chocolate lava style cake with vanilla gelato and it was a nice ending to dinner, very rich and tasty. Celebrating my daughter's 28th birthday, there were 17 in our party. From the moment we first made reservations for 14 people, then we called to add 3 more people 2 hours before our reservation, they were so accommodating. The ambiance was really beautiful, the service was excellent and even the owner came by our table to greet us. The food was deliciously amazing, fresh and so full of flavor. Mixed experience at Limani. Most of my issues were with the service. Took quite a while to order after being seated. Had my tap water refilled with sparkling water when I wasn't looking. Not a fan of sparkling water. Understaffed in general. Took forever to get anyone's attention for help. Asked them to split the Tomato Salad between two people. Was told they don't do that. Ordered a whole fish. Asked it not be served with the head. It was served with the head. Asked for rice with the salmon in lieu of lemon potatoes. Got the rice, but not the mixed vegetables. As far as the food, most of it was quite good. Side exception, two orders of salmon. One ordered medium rare. One ordered medium well. Both arrived the exact same medium. Main exception, the tuna ordered rare was served past well-done. To tie in with the slow service, it did get replaced, but after most of the party was more than halfway through the meal. Lima beans were an undercover highlight. Mushrooms were very good as well. Shared some sorbet and a soufflé. Tasty but pretty standard. Found it a touch pricy. Dinner for 5, no alcohol was over $400. Mandatory valet parking is aggravating. Overall, it was an absolutely fine experience. Were I to return to Long Island for a family dinner, it would be absolutely fine. Were I a local, it wouldn't be in my rotation, or a go-to spot. You could do worse, but also far better. Especially at the price point. read more

We tried to to do the price fixe however we were informed by our waiter that it can only be done for a maximum of 4 people. We were confused so we asked for an explanation. I have never seen such a thing for a price fix. The manager said the reason is so they can keep the doors open... kind of a weird thing to say, We went to dinner on a Monday night and the restaurant was only half filled. This is very confusing for the customers on who gets to choose the price fixe. A suggestion: charge $45 a person, and allow the price fix for everyone. The manager on the way OUT offered to buy us a drink, which should have been done while we were seated and before we paid the bill. Small portions also. Oniro in Greek means "dream" and the decor alone fits the description perfectly. It is just so beautiful that you forget you're on Jericho Turnpike. The colors and fixtures capture comfort and class-they did a phenomenal job making this place look awesome! But we didn't come here for the decor, so lemme get to the food. My friend and I opted for the $25 pre-fix lunch. It had a few options and we settled on the Greek salad, calamari, grilled chicken and salmon. Everything was excellent from beginning to end. Calamari perfect, Greek salad was a "real" Greek salad as they do in Greece-without lettuce, chicken and salmon pretty large portions for lunch. The pre-fix also came with desserts so we had Greek yogurt with honey and the fruit plate. Just so delicious and we left full! Actually, we left with food for the next day that's how big the portions were. Service was good as well. The area doesn't have Greek dining like this but it is reminiscent of the Greek places in Roslyn and Manhasset like Kyma and Limani. I hope they make it over there because it was such a treat and now we don't have to schlepp over to the other places. I'm sure dinner would be more expensive, add a few drinks and you're definitely going to drop some money. But for a beautiful, Greek dining experience like this it's well worth it. Without hesitation, I think that Oniro is the most beautiful restaurant on Long Island, at this time. Not including those with waterfront or sweeping, vineyard views. The dreamy cream colored walls and fabrics together with the natural wood and open spaces, fireplaces and decorations for the season, make it an incredibly warm, cozy and inviting setting. There are many different seating options and whether you are enjoying couch/club chair seating or a long farm table for 12 vs intimate cocktail table for 2, bar seats or traditional table settings, there is a place for conversation. Candles flicker, faux fur is draped across a bench, throws adorn the comfy cushioned chairs. The service is very friendly and attentive. The glassware and platters are Pottery Barnesque. Parking is simple, pricing is what would be expected for a North Shore of LI upscale fish joint. Where Oniro falls a wee bit short, is in some of the food itself. The goods are there, but they are not executed to their full potential. The rather popular eggplant and zucchini chips are visually inviting and the dip is delicious, but there is a bit of a heavy oil after taste that lingers. The langostines, at a mere 15 dollars a piece, are well seasoned and served nicely, but are a bit too light on the meat to be considered an actual snack..here more of a tasting. The real reason that this otherwise stellar restaurant could not be 5 stars was the whole fish. The generous Dorado for 2, delicious in every other way, really needed to have a wonderfully crisp skin and unfortunately this fell short. Am I being to picky ? There's always next time. And the fact that only 4 people in the party can take a part in the promotion. It makes it very confusing for the party to choose who can actually take a part in it. A suggestion...offer it Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday to anyone, and don't offer it on Thursday through Sunday. OR charge $45-$50 a person and throw in a coffee/espresso...if they're really hurting for money like they told us. It's really poor practice. Now I know that if I ever have a party of 4 or more for a celebration to NOT choose this restaurant. I'll drive a few miles up the road and go to Matteo's, who offers their price fixe to anyone! ***Bridal Shower Review*** I had my bridal shower on Saturday 5-14-2022 and everything was AMAZING! I was not involved in the planning since my mom always wanted to throw me a SURPRISE bridal shower! My bridal shower was in the upstairs private room. (There is also another private room on the first floor!) My mom and aunt decided to do a sit-down lunch package with beer, wine, and soda. The food was delicious and the wait staff was amazing! I personally didn't like that the side dishes for our entrees were served family style on the table. We came here since my daughter wanted to come before going away to camp. We went to the Jericho tpke location which tends to turn over quite frequently but this place was packed in the weekend. I actually didn't know that there are a few locations. I would describe this place as high end Greek with high end prices to match, but it's a nice place to go for a special occasion. This restaurant has it all-fabulous food, beautiful decor and fantastic service!! We had our work party here in Woodbury and Nikos and his team were outstanding to work with! Lia was so responsive and helpful in making the seamless arrangements. On the evening of the party, Nikos was there to oversee everything. The room upstairs was beautiful and the perfect venue for a private event. They had wifi speakers for me to play music and the tables were arranged so nicely. Everyone loved the food! We chose buffet style appetizers, full meal and desert to allow everyone to mingle more. We had more than enough staff assigned to us to make the event smooth and each one could not have been more helpful. Thank you Limani Taverna. We will be back!! read more
