I loved my experience here. This is the new place of former Avenida Peru (Av Peru now is more street style quick simple entrees w a limited menu). This Lima Restaurant has most of former menu if not all. Seems they are still adjusting on service and getting more clientele. They now open and close earlier than before. My plates were fantastic. Service was flawless and ambiance is great.. this is a more ample place than former. Seems to have more (not so busy) street parking. Overall I loved it. Note 15% tip is included, so anything you leave is additional, and if you ask me, well deserved!

I had an amazing experience in Lima restaurant delicious plates love the ceviche caretillero and lomo saltado Chef/owner karlo caceres and his team give you a unique Peruvian cuisine experience and every dish. The service is very organized and punctual as soon you walk at the door Glenda/manager give you a very warm welcome and make you feel like home The place is very clean prices affordable And is byob Worth the trip to visit this Peruvian restaurant If you lucky might find there eating some of the Peruvian singers like Tony succar and other Tony visits this restaurant when he is in chicago There is a Peruvian flag on the wall sign by Tony succar and mimic succar. This restaurant has banquet hall which you can rent for your private party.

Most authentic Peruvian food in Illinois ! I've tried a little bit of everything and they were all amazing. Highly recommend causa de pollo, trío marino, caldo de gallina BUT the BEST is the tacu tacu con lomo is TOP! Everyone is so nice and we didn't have to wait at all to get our food

Having a taste for Peruvian food, we decided to stop in and give this place a try. You can tell this place is fairly new, service was quick and the food was delicious. It is a BYOB to make sure to pick up your bottle before you step in although there is a liquor store a few doors down. My only disappointment was that our entree, the Lolo Saltado lacked meat.

Amazing Mother's Day dinner at Lima Restaurant. I was feeling particularly indecisive this year. We made 2-3 reservations that we ended up cancelling because I couldn't pin down exactly what I felt like. I love Peruvian food but we've been to every Peruvian restaurant in the city a bunch of times but on an off chance a Google search pulled up this newer gem. When I saw they had a seafood tacu tacu, I flipped. I've been chasing that dish for years. Even tried to make it but it never measured up to that first dinner I had in Lima. It's such a rare find on a Peruvian menu, so elusive but here it was and it was outstanding! We also had the spicy ceviche which they actually made spicy. My husband had the steak huancaina pasta which was very good but I liked my dish better and that was ok because he liked his better--worked out! It was such a nice family vibe inside. All families just sharing love and good food. It seemed to be family run and they were so sweet and understanding. For example, bringing out our daughters' salchipapa dinners with our ceviche appetizer, something that might seem small but makes a big difference in making a meal out enjoyable. Such kind, friendly people and outstanding food. It's a drive for us but worth it--we will be back. So glad to come here for Mother's Day dinner!

The views are incredible, the drinks are fantastic, and trust me, there are plenty of options in West Loop, but Cabra definitely stands out. On this particular visit, my homie Doan was bartending, and I was meeting up with a friend for a little catch-up. We grabbed seats at the bar, which I always recommend if you can. If you're planning to visit, I'd definitely suggest making a reservation because everyone wants to experience that rooftop view! For food, I ordered the Saltado Beef, which came with potatoes, vegetables, peppers, and Korean barbecue-style steak. It was absolutely delicious. My friend ordered the yucca fries, and we also shared both the beef and chicken empanadas. Everything was really good. And of course, shout-out to our amazing bartender, Doan, for making one of the best Old Fashioneds in the city! Overall, Cabra has everything you want: amazing ambiance, fantastic food, great service, excellent drinks, and one of the most beautiful views in Chicago. What more could you ask for? 5 out of 5 stars!

Prior to seeing this establishment on DDD I had no idea what Peruvian food was. Boy am I glad I found out. On the outside this is a very unassuming place in a rather rundown strip mall. But I was taught not to judge a book by its cover. When we went in there I think we were expecting something that would have been some cheap rubbery junk. Man were we surprised when we had a 5 star dinner in a 2 star atmosphere. I was hooked after that. I totally loved it and have been a semi regular since what I believe was 2015. We go here from Wheeling. The only improvement I can suggest is to open one in the Northern burns so you can have more of my money.

The Aji de Gallina (from the menu: "Chicken in walnut sauce. Served with potato, boiled egg and white rice") was incredibly good, although it didn't taste like walnuts to me. Doesn't matter, I'd get it again. Service was great, our server was very nice and attentive. We went at a random time so we were the only people there. Music was not loud or non-existent (thank you). Rotisserie chicken - this was the reason we came, and damn did it deliver. Incredibly moist and full of flavor. The green pepper sauce it comes with pairs perfectly.
