Went in for an early dinner and we really enjoyed this restaurant located in White Plains. The Birria bao bun was amazing with the consumé and the beef was delicious. The bun was warm and soft and made for an amazing fusion between Mexican spiciness and the mild sweetness of the bao bun. The veg pizza was delicious and felt "light". We also ordered a side of truffle fries and it was delicious as well. The major disappointment was the strawberry tiramisu, there were no fresh strawberries as advertised and the flavor was awful. I guess you don't mess with the og tiramisu. We sat inside since it was hot outside and it was gorgeous. But the outside seating looked really nice as well. Lilly's has been a staple for my friends and I for years. Their food never disappoints. I am totally obsessed with their bee-sting pizza but every pizza is down right delicious ! They even have gluten free options. Their small bites are always so good. Try their Brussels they are to die for! I recently had their birria bao buns which were a new menu item and so delicious. Looking online and at the menu I thought I'd be walking into more of an intimate tapas type setting. The atmosphere is definitely not that but instead it's like your favorite Irish pub. I was solo dining as I'm in out of town, but this seems like a fun place to grab drinks and catch up with friends. I was there over St. Patrick's festivities which likely added to the feel. The staff was friendly, the food and drinks were good. My steak was a special for the holiday with a Guinness sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly, although I wish the sauce would have been just below the meat instead of everywhere as it was a little heavy handed. Visited this beautiful restaurant on Father's Day and sat outside -- the ambiance was lovely. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing, but the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. We were a party of four that visited on a Sunday in mid-Feb between 1-2 pm. They were quite busy inside and out so I put our name in with the hostess and we were given a 30 minute eta. We went for a walk down Mamo and got a text promptly thirty minutes or so later that our table was ready. We were then seated inside in a nice half booth half chairs table. Options for all. Not squeezed in tight, it was comfortable. We experienced fantastic service that competed with the restaurant's buzz. We got drinks and our friends raved about their cocktails. We ordered a breakfast pizza, two brunch burgers, and avocado toast. The breakfast pizza was creamy, salty, and good. The fries were crispy and hot burgers were pretty good. We made reservations for 8pm, and went to Lilly's last night with another couple. We had the best time! This place is a gem! It has a really nice ambiance; an upscale pub feel with comfortable seating and cozy lighting. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The place was packed and had a vibrant energy. First, the good stuff... The food is excellent! None of us had ever been here before, but had all heard good things, especially about the Brussels sprouts. That was the first thing we ordered, along with the short ribs, bee sting pizza and carnitas, to start. Those sprouts were amazing... Savory with little bites of crispy edges. My mouth is watering thinking about them. The pizza was our second favorite. My husband isn't usually one for non traditional pizzas, so he wasn't sure about how the honey would work out, but even he loved it. The short ribs and polenta were really good. They fell apart and tasted like pot roast. The polenta was creamy and went really well with the ribs and gravy. The carnitas were just ok. More like seared small cubes of pork than traditional carnitas, and it was a little bland... It needs the lime provided. As for our mains, we ordered wild mushroom pasta, carbonara, fish and chips and seared salmon. All we're excellent! The only issue we had was when I tried to order my second drink. I ordered my margarita, and ten or 15 minutes later, my friends husband ordered his second drink. I still had not received mine. He got his drink about 20 minutes later and I still didn't have mine. The husbands told the server who brought the drink (not our server) and he went to check and said he didn't see it in the system, so he put in the order again. About 10 minutes later when I came back from the restroom, I had two drinks. Each server (ours and the one who had brought the drink for our friend) had brought me a drink at almost the same time. A concise review of our brunch experience at Lilly's in White Plains. I've been here with my fiance many many times, this time I came with my friend from college. There's never usually a wait-- but this place is always poppin'. I would argue that it's the best brunch spot in White Plains. I love their outdoor dining area that is even available in the winter. The staff are always friendly and attentive. The waiters are always super chill and accommodating. There is also a lot of staff that frequently checks in. The mimosas were not watered down. I was definitely buzzed. The samlon was cooked perfectly, the french toast was to die for. I asked for poached eggs instead of fried eggs with my samlon, and that was fine. I also asked for a side salad instead of home fries, and it was perfect. They got our meal correct, and the food was superb. The environment was a fun brunch environment. Service, friendliness and attentiveness rocked! Plus our main guy, brought his A game and presented hubs with the warmest Brownie & Berries Birthday 'cake'. I applaud Lilly's for offering a wide array of Small Plates for ANY palate. My daughter turned her two Vegetarian small plates- into Vegan with no problems at all from our guy who worked his magic til the end. My Truffle Mushroom Pizza was succulent and all the ingredients married beautifully. So if you love mushrooms (canned or jarred mushroom never count) like I do, trust me, you won't want to share this pizza! And hubs liked his Brick Chicken. Everything passed with flying colors. This is probably my 7th time at Lilly's. It's a phenomenal place for lunch brunch or dinner. It doesn't matter if you are out with coworkers , family or friends. This place has never misses when it comes to taste. It's a must try when in the White Plains area. The menu consist of small plates, salads, pizzas sandwiches and entrees. I typically order several smalls plates and a pizza. Recommendation I would recommend the Truffle pizza. It is to die for. Also to stay in the truffle family the truffle fries and truffle Mac and cheese are amazing. Now enough of the T word lol. The tuna tartare, octopus, and wild mushrooms are my go to small plates. I typically stray away from the entrée only because the options are items I eat at home. The Fish sandwich which consists of fried filet snapper is a new favorite of mine. I went here with my husband for Sunday Brunch after staying at a hotel nearby and attending a wedding in the area the prior day. The menu looked diverse and reasonably priced with decent reviews, and a short walk from the hotel... what was not to like? Unfortunately, a lot. The main reason I write this review is to warn potential customers of underhanded business practices at this establishment. The prices on the website and their own menu handed out at the place do not match price wise for nearly every item, with most items 1 to 3 dollars more each. As if that wasn't enough of an issue, when we received the bill, we were charged even higher prices for our ordered items than the printed menu. When I brought this to my server's attention, we waited a long time just to receive a small discount that still did not cover all of the price increase. I had to speak to a manager about this as I wanted to pay the prices listed on the print menu (I did not even fight for the online prices which remain posted). The manager's excuse was that the menu all the customers were receiving that fine Sunday morning "was an old menu" and they were waiting on the new printouts. I refused to accept the excuse and demanded to pay the written price. After another wait, the manager returned with the bill. While I appreciated receiving a discount for "the inconvenience," this issue left an awful taste in my mouth for the business and delayed us getting on the road. I can't imagine all of the other customers took care to review their bills, being overcharged on each item they ordered. Very scummy of the place to do this... Regarding the service, it was good when we were seated but rough once we asked for the bill as discussed above. I tried the chicken and waffle which was recommended by my server. The chicken was decent but the waffle was gummy (without the tasteless syrup). The apples were a nice touch but hard to eat with the chicken especially with a gummy waffle. They sank into the waffle and were hard to scoop up with the fried chicken thighs. The bacon was also undercooked, fatty and paltry in portion. My husband enjoyed his Mediterranean Salad but it was small for the price (especially when they tried to charge 2 extra dollars for it). The coffee was so gross we could not drink it. Tasted burnt, old and cheap. Worse than diner coffee. All in all, this place was a disappointing end to what was a nice wedding weekend. The service was very polite and well staffed! If I could recommend any drink it would be a margarita. I usually cannot find fresh tasting margaritas that remind me of the beach. This one was perfectly well balanced. The Chilean Sauvignon Blanc however is not something I recommend, I don't think I'd recommend this place to continue carrying it. The food was great. We were so happy the menu had all different kinds of yummy options. Also it all came out quickly. The tuna tartare was delish! The short rib had the best polenta I've had in the while and the carnitas tacos had all the flavors you want in a taco! The bacon and prosciutto pizza was great as well. Thin crust, oven baked, light sauce and not an overbearing amount of toppings. I would totally order all of that again. The carne Adana pizza we brought home and were not impressed by it.
