Shrimp Lovers this restaurant is a must! Sara. was my server and she was enthusiastic and gave great menu item choices. I started with the crab dip which consisted of lots of crab meat and cream cheese. It was served with their version of grilled pita bread. The fried shrimp was crisp and golden brown with just enough breader. The French fries were the shoestring type and they were crisp and delicious not greasy. I've been wanting to go to this place for weeks now! When I was finally on on that side of town, I had to stop. When we pulled in around 2ish, there was already a wait. However they have a huge waiting area where you can order drinks and appetizers. Those came out within minutes of ordering and the wait was half the time they quoted us. Host stays busy, be appreciate he will appear. At first we had a 2 hour wait but it changed to about 45 minutes. You can wait at a "bar" area with gravel and a few tables. Servers were nice and fast. first of all the seats the seat are amazing the view of the river is incredible as well. now the service was one point today very nice staff. Now the food for appetizers we got hush puppys and fried calamari and it was very good i can taste the flavors and the calamari was very tender which made it very good and the main course we got a pepperoni pizza and burgers. Sunday afternoon 3:30pm The Lilly Pad is a cute little restaurant on the water located at the marina. It is all outdoor seating so be aware on those hot summer days. I don't know if they have outdoor fans. It happened to be a warm day with cool breezes when we went. The hubs and I each ordered a hamburger. He got the hangover burger that came with a fried egg and bacon. I ordered the mushroom and Swiss burger. The Lilly Pad will be our new go to for hamburgers. The edges were a little crispy while the rest of the burger was juicy! The shoestring French fries also had the right amount of crisp on them. We also got suckered into the Nightingale ice cream sandwiches. I would ask for those sooner than later to give them a minute to thaw. They are pretty hard when they come out. We split an order of fried oysters, and they were so good that we decided to place a second order. We also ordered calamari, though I would not recommend it as it was slightly rubbery and tough. The entrées (two hamburgers & two caesar wraps) were good--nothing surprising or special, but solid food. The appeal of Lilly Pad is the view and ambiance. Unfortunately, the day we went, that was lacking (obviously, this is not their fault). It was overcast, there was a pretty strong breeze, and the heaters they had were not nearly enough. Heard a lot of great things about Lilly pad and was glad we ended up here on a hot Friday evening. This place does get PACKED as the night gets later so come early if you prefer not to wait over an hour. Service was a bit slow but they were busy (and probably understaffed). Drinks were okay for the most part. I really thought $10 for a bucket of about 4 domestic beers were well worth it. The food is decent and about what I expected.
