If you are looking for a good home cooked meal in Clinton Lillie's is the place to go. I ordered the baked chicken, collard greens, Mac and cheese with cornbread. The meal also came with a drink and white chocolate bread pudding. The baked chicken was well seasoned as well as the greens and Mac and cheese. The bread pudding was delicious. The food here is amazing, but don't go or call in an order if you're in a hurry. The service is a little slow. Online orders say ready in 30min, but it's more like 45 minutes to an hour. Food was really good. The catfish, fried chicken, was superb, the batter was not thick but fresh and crispy. The batter & seasoning didn't overwhelm the food taste. Problem some of the best okra I have had in a long time. The mac&cheese has its own good taste, and not over cooked. Their bread pudding and pecan were great. Their drink machine was out of order. Water, Sweet, UnSweet tea and lemonade were available. Their Sunday after church drive through business is phenomenal. Nothing fancy, seating was adequate. The food is great with a few minor issues. But overall the taste is great, the quality is good, and the service is excellent. We had the smoked Beef Rib, and the smoked prime rib. Our sides were Max-n-cheese, potato salad and collard greens. Now for the excellent parts, the sides were very good and they don't cook their vegetables with PORK! Huge plus! The greens were seasoned well and you could taste the garlic and it wasn't overpowering. The potato salad was awesome! I do t like traditional mustard potato salad and this was a cross between mustard and German and maybe ranch... great taste and fresh! The Mac-n-cheese tasted like grandmas Màc the only thing it's a little dry. They may need to add a little more butter and cream for a less dry texture but the FLAVOR is perfect! Just the right amount of pepper and not over salted or sugared. The prime rib was smoked well and tender! The beef rib was nice, not as pictured but about 4/6oz of meat on the bone. All was tender! It could have used a coast of seasonings while on the smoker... but the smoke was awesome! I personally make the nest beef ribs, but these won't disappoint anyone looking for beef rib. I only suggest that for the price you should get at least two! I've paid less for far larger ribs in Texas, and this is as close to Texas ribs as you're gonna get around here. Now the one bad thing... there was NO AIR FLOW! We wanted to eat in because we don't live in the area and it was stifling. We are hurriedly and couldn't really relax to enjoy the food. Also, our table wasn't properly cleaned. There were left over straw sleeve from someone previously and no napkins. We just got napkins from a near by table but with Covid they should be more mindful of cleaning tables entirely and properly. read more

If you don't feel like cooking, this is a wonderful place to get good home-cooked food. To me, it's the best food West of I-220 in the Jackson area. I've eaten here twice and I enjoyed the Chicken & Dumplings as well as the Fried Catfish. Even my Mother, and Grandmother enjoyed eating here earlier today after Church. The food is seasoned well and the owner is a wonderful host. It was great to see the elderly and the young ordering take-out or dining in. The prices are very reasonable. I got an entree, 3 sides, a drink, and dessert for about 16 bucks. Portions are just right. I do not know what's in the chocolate chip pie, but that stuff is GOOD.... Lillies used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Clinton. I've visited this restaurant many times. However, as of late the quality of the food as taken a dive. Once the food here was like eating your grandmother's cooking. They can't have have the same people cooking the food like they once did. And I can tell the difference. The food was once served hot. Soul food restaurant served cafeteria style. I always rate an establishment based on its food category, and this soul food restaurant is delicious! Meat was tender and spiced very nicely. The veggies the same, tender but not soggy and very well seasoned. I would rate this establishment in the realm of Bully's in downtown Jackson (although I didn't have BBQ here). Wow! This place is great. We were passing through town and found it on Yelp. I'm so glad we stopped. It is served cafeteria style with a choice of an entree and 3 vegetables or 2 vegetables and dessert. Today, they had fried chicken, chicken tettrazini, and baked chicken as entrees. They told us they post their daily menu on their Facebook page. I chose the baked chicken. For my sides, I chose mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and okra. To be honest, there was something in the mashed potatoes I did not care for, but I still ate it. The green beans and okra were some of the best I have ever had. I forgot to mention that it also came with corn bread. I was disappointed they didn't have butter, but the corn bread did not need it. I was craving another piece and wouldnt you know it, they came around and offered another one. Yum! My husband also has baked chicken. His sides were green beans, sweet potatoes, and peach cobbler. All were great. The meal also comes with a choice of iced tea (sweet or unsweet) or lemonade. We are sorry we are just passing through and can't come here on a regular basis. read more

We've eaten at Lillie's on two Sundays after church. As we entered, we were greeted by a pleasant guitarist whose music helped transform the otherwise plain surroundings into a lovely homey place. The cafeteria style serving line is loaded with all the good things your grandma used to cook--fried & baked chicken, fried catfish, meatloaf, pork chops, chicken & dumplings, yams, cabbage, greens, peas, and the best fried okra you've ever eaten! Several choices of desserts were available, too. When we left, I asked my husband "Why would anyone want their mama to stand over a hot stove all day to put on a spread like that when you could go to Lillie's ?" We'll be back! read more

I just ate at the best southern home cooking restaurant ever. The food was so delicious and everything was made with fresh ingredients. My grilled chicken was so tender and flavorful and the cornbread was light and so good I didn't need butter. The owner was so helpful and attentive to our needs. The price was reasonable for an entree and three sides which could include dessert. The tea and lemonade were fresh and tasty. I will mark this jewel down as the place to lunch in CLINTON. read more

The food here is very good especially on Wednesday's when they have grilled chops and carrot soufflé. The wait at the register can though test your patience at times especially right at noon. If you're a clean freak for clean tables it is a hit and miss here. The tables don't always get cleaned regularly so be prepared to do it yourself - done this on several occasions. Appears they are trying to get by with less staff but it does seem to hurt the time ordering and receiving the food. It's a toss up on service each time!! I've waited only 5 or 6 minutes for my order but also 25 minutes. Food is really good I promise but they do need to improve on all around service as well. This is an update to my previous review above. They seem to be improving on keeping tables cleared and cleaned so this is a welcome improvement. The food is always good. read more
