A good no nonsense place to get a body massage with the end results making you feel better when it's over . My cuz comes here and recommended I give it a try for my back and shoulders which after a long week at the office tend to hurt a bit . The massage lady who didn't talk much went to work and her hands were like vise grips but in a helpful way if that makes any sense. She works in a particular method that covers every section of my back , shoulders , neck , etc, and it works as I feel the stiffness and tension disappear..The rooms are small but beds are very clean and comfortable with the dim lighting and ambient music making it a peaceful calm experience. Well worth the 80 bucks and no minute is wasted during the session . I will be back in a couple of months for more pampering and soothing .4.5 stars on my yelp meter. read more

I went today to ask for an hour message , was told it's $50 , so I gave $50+$20 tip before starting , laid down get ready to start , before the start I said you can go strong on the massage , I was told no , so I said it's ok just do what you have to do , was told 30 min massage then nvm an hour , I said it fine do what you have to do , masseuse left to give me back my money and said sorry can't do business , I get dressed thinking wtf? As I got dressed I said all I said was is you can go strong that's it , was told can't do that so I left , always try to get even more of a tip and very rude , I've been here a few times and the massages are very good and get the muscles deep but at times felt uncomfortable , the woman wouldn't stop talking , multiple times asked if I wanted a "massage" and would attempt to grab downstairs when I've said multiple times no ty , so like a fool I gave it another chance and ran into this encounter , will NEVER go here again . read more

A long-term New Yorker Brooklyn artist professor I met told me that she only goes to Astoria to Lilli Bodywork, to get deep massages. And always ask for Lilli. I decided my aches & knots were too tight & called on a Saturday afternoon. Lilli said she was only there Thursdays & Saturdays. And that I can come right away. I booked the appointment for the next hour. After I buzzed the ringer & walked up the stairs to the curtained glass store front, I see a man in his 30's coming out of the bathroom, giving me an odd look. I go in, he's paying(guess they do take credit cards). The receptionist tells me to go sit in the room on the right. There's a shower curtain dividing the room. I hear Chinese in the other side & am wondering if there's another lady waiting for a massage & I have to wait an hour. THEN I hear a male voice- umm with a THIN shower curtain separating me & their massage?! I'm not paying $50+tip to be right next to someone's "massage"! From her "come right away!" I assumed she wasn't getting business, apparently it's TOO much business. She had called in another girl who arrived to give me a massage. I start saying that "I'll come back tommorrow. I'm not comfortable." They're being endearingly pushy saying "She's a good masseus I called her in!" I see that there's a more private room in the front, she says I can change in there. I ask if I can have that room instead. Through the crack of the flimsy curtain, I see a man laying on the table. No Thanks! I say that "I will be back in an hour for the private room." And leave. 3:30pm on a Saturday & apparently it's high traffic for these "massage places." Geez. I call Pacific College of Oriental Medicine & was able to book a Proper massage for next week. No I won't waste my $! And I hope they really wipe down those tables. read more

HORRIBLE! Do not go here! Asian ladie was disrespectful and rude! She was the only one there. Answered the phone numerous times throughout my massage. I told her she was being to rough and she laughed said I needed it. After I told her I'd pay with credit card. Score she began she then charged me an extra $4 for using one and didn't know how to operate the machine. Since there was another $4 charge I gave her $3 tip and she had the nerve to yell at me saying she's a hard worker. I explained to her that she answered the phone 5times during my massage and was extremely rough after I told her to lighten up many times. And then didn't make me aware of the extra $4 charge. They were able to take me and a friend with only a few minutes notice: Me: Are you available for two people? Them: Sure! What time? Me: ...now? Cue ringing of door bell! Kind of sketchy (who am I kidding - SUPER sketchy) entry - you ring the bell, they buzz you up, and you head up a flight of stairs into a room. They have two beds available, and only those two beds (from what I could see), so when you go in with a friend, it's like you're doing a couples massage. Ambiance is what is too be expected from an affordable Asian massage place. Kenny G music, only a curtain separating you from the naked person on the other bed, and a giant sign that says, "KEEP UNDERWEAR ON" by the hooks where you hang up your discarded clothing. So it's kind of funny they made us keep our underwear on, since within a few minutes my underoos were firmly yanked down for my gluteus maximus to get kneaded. Asian women are freakishly strong. They worked out every kink in my body. Sometimes super painfully. My shoulders were sore for days afterwards! A point of contention: I've gone to numerous cost effective Asian massage places throughout the country. This is the only place where they don't wipe you down with a super hot towel afterwards (which is like, THE BEST PART). Instead, they wipe you down with paper towels. SO not the same. GET SOME HOT TOWELS! And they do a face massage with... PURELL. They literally squirted hand sanitizer onto their hands, then massaged it INTO MY FACE. Wish I could have said "NO THANK YOU" to the face massage. They kept jabbing fingers into the corners of my eyes. So not pleasant. Not pleasant at all. $50 for an hour. CASH ONLY. So will I go back? Maaaaaaybe... if my usual place is too booked and I've got a back that's killing me. But I'd definitely opt out of the face massage. The ladies were super duper nice though, and so eager! I had been suffering from back pain for a long time, and I was told massage might help. One of my friends referred me to this place, saying their service is great with a reasonable price. I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the negative reviews. But I decided to give it a try anyway, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. The masseuse who introduced herself as "May" was very nice and patient. She carefully listened to my explanation of my back problem, and did such a wonderful job that I felt much better after just the first session. She definitely knows her stuff and you can tell by her strong finger pressure on different acupuncture points. I felt some pain on these points when she pressed them, but my back felt so much better when I left there, with much less pain. And as my muscles were apparently loosened up, I even felt more energy in me. I've been there 3 times, and each time she would always do a great job, and I could feel that my back problem is improving. The Lili Bodywork is not a big place, but you will definitely feel comfortable there as it is kept very clean and tidy. And of course, their service is great. This is a no frills Asian massage place-so you know they give you a very legit, authentic DEEP massage that can really work out your kinks and tense points. For those other comments, they were probably looking for a more luxurious spa salon. You're not gonna get your own room privacy like those hoity toity places- you're gonna be divided by a simple curtain from the next person but that's part of the legit experience. They turn on calming music, dim lighting and have soothing non scented lotions. They also wipe down after sessions so you're good there. Their beds are sanitary and didnt have any qualms to lay down. They can adjust how soft or strong you like it, just be sure to tell them or they won't know. You come out feeling good-hazy and the time flies! I had a one hour massage here yesterday with Mary. She was very friendly and spoke good English which is unusual for this type of massage shop. She asked me what type of massage I wanted and gave me a very good firm whole body massage which was perfect and relaxing. She told me she is trained in both Chinese and Thai massage. The room was clean and the other girl there was also friendly. The lighting is soft and relaxing background music was playing. At the end of the massage she used a hot wet towel to wipe down. read more
