Food is seriously delicious and service was great too. The place was a little hard to get into since it sits a little bit back from the main street and parking was a little confusing for us first time visitors but we figured it out. The signs are up and are quite helpful so no worries there. We went in on a busy Sunday late morning for brunch. We were able to be seated right away inside the dining room or had the option of waiting just a little while to sit outside. We decided to sit inside and go right away. Dining room had plenty of space and was spaced out decently with only a few tables occupied. The inside section was definitely less crowded than the outside patio. Food was so good! Gave off that awesome home cooked breakfast greasy spoon type vibe in a great way. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs and subbed the toast for a biscuit and gravy at the last possible minute and what an inspired decision that turned out to be the biscuits here are absolutely amazing and worth making the trip from Morro Bay to here on any given day! I know biscuits (actually worked as a biscuit maker for a famous restaurant chain for years) and these biscuits are some of the very best I have ever had the pleasure of eating anywhere north or south of the Mason Dixon line. Truly could make an entire meal out of just the biscuit and gravy but I didn't need to because the eggs, chicken fried steak and home fries were so good too! And filling.... I ended up taking about half the meal home and eating the rest for dinner later. Definitely a good meal. I will be back for more of those delicious biscuits though. Boyfriend opted for the ribeye steak and eggs special they had. Ribeye was cooked perfectly, eggs were delicious and perfectly cooked to order. Potatoes were perfect as well. The sourdough toast looked homemade. We asked if it was and found they get it from a local bakery called Edna's if anyone is interested. It was tasty with their homemade strawberry jam. Boyfriend said the salsa they served on the side really made the meal and took the entire dish over the top. He loved it. He said most people would consider it hot but for him it was just a medium (he loves hot and spicy things) Our server was awesome. We loved our visit and the food was wonderful. I am not one to write a negative review but my husband and I got eggs Benedict, half an order of biscuits and gravy and one coffee and it was $45! (Over $50 after tip) for a run down diner vibe with food that was greasy and not fresh. It seemed like people didn't wait too long to be seated and tables were turned over quickly. We also appreciated how dog friendly they were! Being able to sit outside was a real treat! The umbrellas and round tables gave this place a fun cafe look. I think the steak in the steak and eggs needed a bit more love (seasoning, getting a good char). Found this lil place just cuz it was near our hotel. We walked over and found the back. Not too impressive. Hiked around to the front. Hmmmm. Quaint. Decided to give it a shot. Wow! Had an amazing breakfast. Perfect bacon. Scrawled eggs. French toast made with French bread. What a concept!! Everything was terrific. My sister and I came here for brunch. There was no sign or direction of what we were supposed to do. We waited for the hostess to arrive while also getting a contradicting message to sit ourselves (but the tables were dirty). We kept making eye contact with the waitresses and all they did was say someone will be with you shortly. Some guy walks in, which naturally my fighter mode turned on and I marched in right behind him. Only to have the waitress say, we will be with yoh shortly please wait outside. Came in here with my buddy yesterday about 1030. About a handful of people were eating. Nice outdoor setting. Our server asked if we are ready and we told her we needed more time. She seemed pretty annoyed. she came back the second time and took our order. I wouldn't say she was rude, she just has no personality. She never came up to check up on us after she brought us our food. Then when we were done, she brought us the bill. Did not ask how was everything or have a good day. My buddy was nice enough to give her an 18% tip which she did not deserve. The food was just mediocre at best, my sausage tasted overcooked/just reheated in the microwave. The biscuits and gravy could use a little more flavor and the pancakes were pretty good. By the way, your servers should not be petting other dogs while you're working! Server who claimed to be "owner" of establishment forged my credit card receipt and stole a $10 tip for herself. When confronted, proceeded to be rude and argue with me for trying to see my receipt. Claimed she lost it and demanded to know what my problem was. When I told her I did not sign for a $10 tip because I left $10 in CASH and I wanted my money back, she throws it at me saying I am the worst ever for coming back just for that. Coming back for stolen money? Also, I demanded for my cash tip back and she refused. Eventually gave in. I walked out with my $20. After an entire scene was made by this girl who couldn't control her emotions. Treated a customer with absolute disrespect when I not once lost my composure with her. Her reaction tells me everything about the lying and stealing that is going on here. I've been in the restaurant business for 10 years and this girl handled herself like an absolute child when caught red handed. Claimed to be the owner too. Figures. In need of a comforting greaser-spoon breakfast? Look no further. Lil'Bits has a very simple setting with mugs and vintage decorations one would find in a thrift shop. However, you know the place is good when it is already packed at 9am! The service was very friendly and attentive. Coffee refills came faster than I could ask and our waitress made sure to check in on us and offer a refill of their breakfast potatoes (portions were already large enough to share though). The food comes out quick for such a busy place. Everything is delicious. Their house made biscuits are so good! They fry them in butter on the griddle in addition to baking them. Doesn't look like much when you drive up, but I really wanted to see for myself what the other great reviews were about. BOY was I not disappointed! They have so many options for everyone's pallete, so this place will satisfy anyone! I had the Country Scramble, and the plate looked small, but the portions were so big! My Son and I made a stop here yesterday for breakfast/ brunch. I am always looking for a good breakfast place that just had some good ol fashion home cooking! Well, this place nailed it! The coffee was delicious, the waitress's running like crazy cause it was crazy busy. And the cook..well he was running too. This place is a very, very simple hole in the wall of a place. Not fancy, honestly could use a serious renovation, or at least some new window coverings. You will wait to be greeted and a few min wait for a seat. But in the end just hang out and enjoy! Bad customer service and screwed up the order. We are long time customers of this establishment and I'm so disappointed. We ordered to-go and it was very sub par. Crappy to arrive home and see toast was missing, eggs burnt (visualize leather) when asked for lightly cooked, corned beef hash burnt on the outside & goo inside, French toast missing syrup & butter. Cook needs to learn how to not burn everything. When I called to let them know the girl in charge (strawberry blonde / glasses) was very dismissive and rude. Food is ok, make sure you review your receipt for double charge on drinks, also I don't mind paying a gratuity if the service is good, but when you split the bill each ticket pays a 20% gratuity. Solid breakfast and lunch place in Grover Beach area. Its tucked away off Grand amAve and 7th and they currently have half of the parking lot converted into outdoor dining. No worries though as tables are spaced out well. Servers are friendly and offer suggestions and our portions were big. Good place to go for a casual brunch as you won't need to eat until dinner. What a great find for some great wholesome breakfast food. Non-frills resturant; but the food was delicious! We ordered the Lot o' Bits to share; and decided to upgrade the toast to biscuits and gravy and added an egg. They actually added an extra sausage and piece of bacon as well; not sure if it was accidental or on purpose - either way, it was much appreciated!! The flavors were all spot on! It hit every breakfast flavor profile we were craving. Perfectly cooked eggs, smoky bacon, yummy breakfast sausage, great pancakes, and delicious gravy on perfectly textured biscuits. The only thing I wish I knew was that you can ask for their potatoes to be crispier; I heard another table order it that way after we had already got our food. Definitely a note for next time!! The best breakfast diner in the five cities. I wouldn't recommend paying anyone else close by for an omelette over them, they're all delicious but I especially recommend the bacon/mushroom/avocado, the Denver, the Momelet (best veggie omelette ever) and the Works if you're big hungry. On top of that they'd have the best chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy in town (try topping both with their homemade jam and salsa!). I also love the Country Scramble and the Old Popeye. It's all amazing. The waitresses are some of my favorite service people in the area and deserve all the tips for how hard they bust their butts. The ambiance is classic breakfast diner and they back it up from first sip of coffee to last. Eat here immediately. read more

We stopped here today on a recommendation from Grover Beach Sour Dough since they don't serve a full breakfast. We shared the carnitas omelette served with toast and home potatoes. They prepare everything fresh with no additives or preservatives. The salsa is a little hot for my taste but the jam was outstanding. Really enjoy this breakfast spot in a strip mall set back from Grand Avenue. The wait staff is very entertaining and responsive. They make homemade corn beef hash-ask for it on the crispy side! So good. They offer endless breakfast potatoes too on most dishes although both my hubs hash dish and my country scramble provided ample on my original serving. I like their biscuits and gravy and you get a large hunk of sausage as their patty with the country scramble. I'm personally not a fan of having my eggs and biscuits and gravy together even though it all ends up in my tummy. But they had no issue keeping them separated. Just ask. It's a little dive with some napkins and crumbs on the floor but the tables were clean and we didn't feel like it wasn't a good place! We will return! read more
