Welllllllllllllllll!!!!!! I have been a loyal and dedicated customer for over 5!!!! years!!!!! i TOTALED my car a lil over a month ago due to my ENGINE needing to be replaced due to LACK OF OIL CHANGES(surpriseing to me) and a bill of $3,000 from non dealer and $7,000 dealer. If utter death were legal upon thought, this place would not exist!!!!!! I was recommended Lightning Lube through my brother which i called when i found out i needed to have my engine replaced and the great guy he is said "OOhhhh they have been shorting you oil/recycleing there oil with you " now I have a 4hour commute daily to and from work I commend you lighting lube on your outstanding service and LACK there of service. P.S. Whats up? with YOUR car? read more

Sent my sister here with her VW Jetta since its local. I bought the synthetic oil and filter for her but did not have time to get it done before her drive back to Florida. My sister has Florida plates on her car and went with my mom to ask for an oil change and quoted her $115 even though they were providing supplies. My mom said "that's crazy that it's never cost more than $20 with oil supplies." The employee responded "that's impossible since its a European car" She promptly left and went down the street to Windy City muffler where they charged her $20 These guys are crooks trying to take advantage of females read more

Great service, happy and friendly staff. Not your typical oil change shop where a bunch of kids are carelessly working. These guys get you in and out quickly with a smile on their face. read more

I have been taking my cars here for my oil change since I started driving. My current car is at 170,000 miles so they must be doing something right. Very friendly people working there. A lot of repeat customers, because every time I'm there to get an oil change, there is always a regular. They treat you and your car right. This is what a local family business is all about. read more

Fast, friendly, honest! What more could you want, and a locally owned business to boot.

After 5 stamps you get a $10 oil change! My husband and his family have been getting their oil changed there for years....they are always nice, they are quick and friendly and I completely trust them with my car! P.S. We've taken our car to Lightening Lube since we bought it (with 11 miles on it) and we just passed over 61,000. The man who owns the business (and is seemingly ALWAYS working) even remembers us when we come in. He's one of the nicest men I've ever met and no matter what he deserves (and will get) my business! read more

As a recent transplant from Nashville I had some anxiety finding a good mechanic shop, starting all over again, here in Chicago. To my delight I discovered Lightening Lube. They were so fast!, through, friendly, and professional! Highly recommend! read more

I just had my oil changed a couple of days ago. When I walked in the bays were full and the waiting room chairs were all taken . A couple of us waited outside. At one point I realized everyone there were return customers. Rich who was taking care of everyone evidently knew everyone. If not he treated them like family. Yes there was a little wait and yes it was a little warm outside to say the least. A shot note here. As I was preparing to write my review I decided to read some of the others and sure enough I was so impressed with this place I had written one in the past. Customer service at its best. read more

I was looking in the neighborhood for a good locally-owned place for oil changes and consulted yelp for help. Luckily I came across Lightning Lube. I arrived and was immediately greeted upon walking in the door. The owner asked if I would be able to wait, as there was one car ahead of me. I happily agreed and was out the door in 30 minutes. Upon checking out, he offered me their punch card, which gets you a $13 oil change after 5 visits. They even asked me what direction I wanted my car to be facing when it was pulled out of the bay! How courteous! I will definitely return, as I am not a fan of the big-box stores, which inevitably try to convince you that your air filter needs to be changed or you need some type of flushing service. Thumbs up, Lightning Lube. read more

These guys are the best! They are honest, incredibly knowledgeable, salt-of-the-earth guys. They're great at what they do and will point out issues they see without trying to scam you because they only do oil changes. My husband has been coming here for years before I met him (in 2001) and we've both been bringing our cars here ever since. I have a limited edition mustang that I only used to take to the dealer for anything.... First time I brought it here, they showed me the damage the dealer had done by putting it up on the lift wrong :-/ one of the many reasons they have a track that lifts the entire car, not just by the frame. There's no place better imho! read more

Had my oil changed couple of times, prompt and fast service. They are flexible, you can bring motor oil of your own choice too!! Usually very busy on weekends read more

Some had thought it strange that I mentioned Lightening Lube on my Blog when I discovered them about 2 years ago, so putting it on Yelp shouldn't be so weird, right? I love how this place is so convenient. It boasts the 10 minute oil change altho they could be busy some days, I try to stop in when I don't see too many cars outside. These guys exert such professionalism in their service. Very courteous. You can't beat how they send you a postcard/coupon reminder for your next oil change--if you prefer. And their stamp card for discounted oil change after several visits is a neat treat. There's no place where you can go for an oil change with more pleasant, stress-free service. I was reminded of this recently when I had my scheduled 3-month oil change. Remember, people--every 3 months or 3,000 miles. I feel really bad for Manuel W., who wrote a bad review, but maybe there was an underlying defect on his engine that Lighting Lube had no control over. Sorry guy. read more

Walked in on a Saturday afternoon for an oil change. 2 customers ahead of me and was told about 25-30 minute wait, which is understandable. Time was accurate and the service was beyond expected. Rich put air in my tires and also filled my wiper fluid for me all courtesy with the oil change. Definitely found my new go-to spot for taking care of my car! Thanks Rich! read more

Great service and trustworthy recommendations for repairs your car may need that Lightning Lube doesn't provide.

Great service. I'm new to the area, so to find my oil change spot, blocks from the house, is a windfall. Listened to a mechanic work efficiently and deliver family friendly, auto advice, with a smile read more

Great experience. New to the area and was looking for a place to get my oil changed. Read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Excellent service. Friendly and informative. Will be a regular customer from now on. read more

Great service for a close neighborhood mechanic, and the guys are so nice and genuine. They're honest about the cost. I've never experienced an overly long wait time, and I would recommend going mid afternoon time. read more

Love this place! In and out super quick. As a girl coming alone to these places can be intimidating but I always feel comfortable. They never haggle me on things I don't need and if I do need something they tell me before, give me a price, then give me the opportunity to agree or not without pressure. Have been coming here for 3 years and will continue to do so. read more

Great service. Prices are fair. Workers are helpful and they know what they are doing. They are not pushy and they don't take advantage of you. I recommend this place. read more

just wanted to give you an update on the car. Lightning Lube's insurance company took responsibility for the faulty oil change and wrote us a check for a brand new engine! But I have learned a lesson....never take your car to any of those quick oil changes. From now on, I only go to a certified mechanic or the car dealer. read more

Love this place. You get what you ask for and just that. They don't try and persuade you to do/buy anything unless you want it. They just let you know which I appreciate. Been coming for a simple oil change for years even though I moved to Berwyn. Glen and Rich are great guys! read more

This is the one place I always think of when it comes to fantastic customer service. The guys who work here are always nice and are always willing to answer any questions I might have. Any time I have taken my car in to have the oil changed they always make sure to check everything else (fluid-wise), and I never have to worry about them taking advantage of my admitted car ignorance. I've been coming here for years (even now that i'm no longer in the neighborhood), and highly recommend them to anyone I know! read more

I was living in the area for the past two years, and regularly visited for my oil change. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and always happy to see you. It's small businesses like these that stay afloat because of their excellent and quick service, personal touch, and friendly faces. After my first visit, they always remembered me. I highly recommend this place, and hope to find a place half as good in my next city. read more

Been getting mine and my familys oil changed here for the past 16 years there straight to the point they get you in change your oil check your tire air pressure and your fluids and then send you on your way consistent price no price games or drama very knowledgeable about autos and moter cycles read more

Owner was straight up. No frills business. They got my shit done and I was out of there before you could say, "Fuck you Jiffy Lube". They got some type of loyalty card thing where you get a sum amount of oil changes and you get a discounted or free one. Don't quote me on it but check this place out. They get shit done here. read more

Great Place!!! Needed a oil change before heading out of town back home. They were Responsible, Fast and Friendly. Thank You

Simply put, if you're looking for an oil change in the Gladstone Park area, these are the guys to see. They've been around forever and have always proven trustworthy. read more

A++++++++++ for the last 20 years. Glen an Rich are honest and knowledgable. We're moving out of state and sure hope we can find a place as good. They are a wealth of information about cars in general. We'll miss you guys!! read more

New to the neighborhood and went to lighting lube for an oil change. Great customer service - very helpful. The oil change was done very timely and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended. I will definitely be returning. read more

I used Yelp to help find a place to have my oil changed by someone fast and professional. Lightning lube was highly rated and within driving range for me. From door to door, I was there less than 40 minutes (that was with 3 people ahead of me). Overall, I found the service friendly, professional, and efficient. I would recommend them to others and I will be going back for my next oil change. read more

If you need an oil change this is the place to go- rich is awesome and honest. i will never take my car anywhere else.

Great service, nice people, never had a problem with the 3 cars I have taken there after they have changed the oil. They send reminders like clockwork, never try to get you to buy something you do not need, and are speedy getting the car in and out. read more

Great Oil Change place!!! Super friendly and professional. Plus they are quick! I would recommend anyone to go here.

Had the pleasure of visiting these guys for the first time today. Very friendly crew, quick service, and reasonable prices. I'll definitely be back! read more

First off, let me say that as long as I live in the neighborhood I will never go anywhere else. There's nothing I like more than spending local. These guys do a great job, are priced on the high side, but ok with me. However, the wait is excruciating!!!!! The sign on the door needs to change to 40 minute oil change. There is nothing Lightening about it! Don't be in a rush when you come here. read more

Love this place! It is now 11:45 AM on a Tuesday morning and as I text, my vehicle is the only one in here getting my oil changed. Sometimes it's a matter of going by and seeing how many cars are parked here waiting but quite honestly I have never had to wait long. Of course I try not to go when people are getting out in the evening because naturally you will have more people heading to take care of these things after work. However, they are quick to get the job done, suggest things that you might need but do not push anything on you. For example the fluids are low, they will offer but will not push anything, they just want to let you know that it is something you need to have done. The guys here are always so super nice :-) love them here through the years! Also they have a stamp card after every oil change you get it stamped and after five stamps on your card you get the next for $13.95. Always love a deal like that! And now I am watching one of the young men checking tire pressure and filling a couple of the tires on my vehicle, you can't beat that kind of attention to detail! Well, I have to go enjoy the rest of my day ... all done! read more

The best place to get an oil change. Some time you have to wait but it has a small town feel to it which I really like. The guy Glenn is totally cool and he fixes Harleys on the side which he did a great job on mine. read more

The service here is friendly and prompt. There is a reason they are always busy and it's because they are good. I live in the neighborhood and only come here because they are honest and do a good job with my new car. read more

Came here after a recommendation from my boyfriend, and so happy I did! The man that helped me was very nice and knowledgeable, and it took less than 15 minutes! I've been going to jiffy lube for the last couple years (big mistake) and after coming to lightning lube, it was such a great relief. It's nice to know that your not being taken advantage of or getting ripped off! Highly recommend this place to anyone! read more

A great example of a small business. Very reasonably priced for very quick, professional work. Cabin filter was less than half the cost of the dealership (otherwise I would have installed myself). Will definitely be going back. read more
