I placed an online order with Lighting Specialists in Utah and received an automated receipt…read more Then--nothing. No shipping notice, no follow-up for ten days. I emailed them and got no response. When I called, I reached someone who repeatedly said, "I only work in the showroom," but was able to check the order and told me, "It hasn't been processed yet" (read: nobody even looked at it for ten days). When I asked to be connected to the right department, I was told that person was "out of town." But the showroom person was able to cancel the order. Thankfully, this was a small purchase and not a critical part of my home remodeling project--but that's beside the point. Tip for Lighting Specialists in Utah: If you accept people's orders and money online, be prepared to process or respond to those orders within a couple of days--not 10 or more. It's not just bad service--it's irresponsible.

I hope I just had a rare situation this time My bedroom celing fan had an integral part go bad. I had no light, no fan, nothing. I identified the problem part and we sought a replacement at Lighting Specialists. They took our money and said the part would be in around two weeks. A little over two weeks later we call asking about the status of our replacement part. Turns out they just charged us and never placed the order. No part was on its way for over two weeks. They said they were sorry and would order the part for real this time. Said it would be a couple weeks. This is when I got a bit angry and explained I had no light in my bedroom and why, since this was your mistake you couldn't overnight the part. Another week and a half later the part came in. Went to go pick it up and they wanted to charge us again, saying we didn't pay the first time. Another mistake on thier part. Finally a month later we are up and going again. I may have to look elsewhere for my next purchase.

After several visits to AVI purchased a pair of Klipsch Forte IV's and had a great experience. AVI…read moreis the only Klipsch Heritage dealership in Utah and have a great selection of the Heritage line. Jim the owner and Jeff spent a couple of hours going through the Heritage line with me and advising me on the best speaker for the size of my listening room. My living room is small and the Forte's were a great fit with outstanding sound and the just the right amount of bass. But with all of that being said probably the best compliment about the Forte's is that my wife said "What a difference in sound and she could hear instruments that she could not hear in our previous speakers (Buchardt A500's). If you are considering upgrading your current system or purchasing a new system go to AVI before going to Best Buy or RC Willey you will not be disappointed.

At best AVI Systems is lacking in customer service skills (rude, aggressive and defensive about…read moretheir poor communication). I just went to pick up a speaker from them that broke (it's for a local business, and was under warranty, but initially they tried to tell us it wasn't and upsell us on another product). They dropped the ball all week on managing expectations (promising the product would be overnighted, but it took several more days to arrive while they offered empty promises or ignored our pleas for information altogether). While I'll admit our company has been annoying with follow up (again, mismanaged expectations and lack of communication on AVI's part while our business was suffering), they were ready for a fight when the product finally arrived and I went to pick it up. I hadn't been communicating with AVI until now, I was just asked to pick up the product on behalf of the business. Now, I wasn't aware there would be a $95 service charge when I came to pickup, and I questioned it (I've never dealt with a company that charges to diagnose their product's issues if they fall under warranty). Immediately after questioning the fee the Lady employee (owner? manager?) became emotionally charged and rude, glaring at me and raising her voice defensively. I was willing to pay so I could move on with my life but they only accept card/cash, and all I had on me was Apple Pay. Again, the female employee was very aggressive and refused to offer any alternatives for me to pay, holding our package hostage unless I paid the fee (which I was willing to pay even though I disagreed with it, but they wouldn't send the business an invoice or offer any other alternatives). I was uncomfortable with the lady's unhinged behavior, as she continued to glare and raise her voice at me. She was storming away with my package (again, why the hatred? I still don't understand why she was so emotionally charged) when an employee that we'd been working with directly came in and magically had a Stripe machine that I could pay with. I'm not sure why that woman was so suddenly aggressive towards me, but I hope she and AVI Systems is embarrassed for her behavior. In conclusion, AVI has severed a relationship with our business by shattering our trust in their product and goodwill, their lackluster/deceitful communication and my experience with their aggressive employee.

Update @ bottom of review…read more Do not purchase anything from this company. We bought a fridge over a week ago that was supposed to be delivered today, I called to see where the delivery man was at and the lady said that you are not on the delivery schedule. We do not even have that fridge in stock. We are going to have to get it shipped and then delivered to you at a later date. We bought our daughter a bed that was supposed to be delivered last Friday, it was never delivered. We called today to see what was happening and they said we don't have that bed in stock, it will not be delivered until the middle of January over a month after purchased. Craziest part about this all is that we purchased these items in store, not even online. So they know they don't have it in stock, but they still let you purchase it, and give you a fake estimated delivery date so that you purchase it and they have you on the hook . The other crazy part is they don't call and tell you they're not going to deliver it. they just don't show up. Don't give you a new estimated date, and just leave you sitting there wondering when you're going to receive your product. Update*** A manager from RC Willey reached out quickly after the review was posted and resolved my issue. Seems that the employees were new and made some mistakes. Nobody is perfect!
