This new place is huge, everything is spaced out well, and the place is well-lit so it's easy to see all the wonderful merchandise. The service I received was terrific. I was there to inquire about lighting for my patio, since they carry really lovely custom lights that lend a romantic feel to any garden space. They were able to answer all my questions, and provided me with helpful tips and suggestions. While Modern Display's new store has only been open for four days now, you wouldn't know it! They're already well stocked with classy and fun Halloween, Autumn Harvest, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, and other Winter decor. As part of their grand reopening, they were advertising all Fall and Halloween merchandise at 25% off, and it's ridiculously cute stuff! Staff pointed out that the Christmas/Holiday trees aren't decorated yet. No worries, that just means I get to have an excuse to come back n' see! Every year, the MD display trees are always very lavishly decorated, and just gorgeous. Thank you, I'll be back!

We confirmed and they committed. Because of this, we didn't look into other options. My husband has consistently followed-up 3-4 times since they reached out in October so we could see when we'd be on the schedule. Today, I'm sure because of my husband's follow-up, we received an email saying they won't be able to install this year due to staffing issues. I understand staffing issues and they are Christmas lights- not the end of the world- I'm disappointed about the lack of communication and the fact they waited too long to tell us. I'm convinced they only told us because my husband kept reaching out. There is no way I can find someone now that it's the middle of November. I believe in excellent customer service and effective communication- this situation failed in both areas. That said, the process was miserable and we wouldn't recommend working with them. Initially the communication was great. My wife works in sales and was really impressed with their follow-up. They required payment up-front, and after they had the money it suddenly became really difficult to get hold of anyone. We would ask for an update and at best get a reply that they would get back to us (which only happened once or twice), and often not hear from them at all. It look months to get all the lights we ordered. We ended up returning a handful of them because with all of the communication being over text we hadn't realized they were so cheap looking (plastic and fabric) until we unboxed one at our house. It took well over another month to get our money back, amid more poor communication. We ended up calling our credit card provider to file a claim, and a refund came through the same day. Honestly the communication was bad enough for us to wonder if the storefront and show room was all for show and this place was just a scam. It's not. But I don't blame anyone with a similar experience for wondering.
