Our family enjoyed dinner here:) I'm from out of town and was a little worried about local bar atmosphere since we were bringing our toddler. What a nice surprise! My in-law told us that there are ongoing updates to the establishment which seemed obvious to me. I felt that this could be a homey pub for sports fans (lots of TV's) and families. Tuesday two for 1 one burgers is a great bargain. The burgers are good. A step up from the usual diner burgers. They do not seem like frozen pattys. They had good flavor. The inside was just redone, but in my opinion it could have been done a little nicer. But for a tavern on the go its an ok place to stop in at . There seems to be some entertainment events that locals like to hang out at. Wednesday night is wing night. Thats not a bad gig. read more

The hole in the wall with a few sketchy locals hanging at the bar... This place is far from fancy but a perfect laid back pick for having a few beers, great wings, and really good burgers with cajun fries! My sweatshirt and jeans night out with my hubs and a few friends for sure! read more

Update: I used to love the Lighthouse Tavern. There have been a series of changes of chefs resulting in bizarre menu changes and a drastically reduced menu selection. Prices are up (costs are up too) and portion sizes are down. Some of the changes make sense. No more free food at happy hour. Two for one burgers were being abused (thank you cheapskates from Greenbriar). But the value for what you are getting with the recent changes is marginal. The Georgetown is a shadow of what it once was. I don't even want to look at the calamari. The portion you get is 1/2 battered red peppers, the batter is disgusting and in the end the portion of calamari is 1/3 of what you used to get. And for a higher price. The rest of the menu is equally disappointing. I've given up on this place for dinner. The beer selection is still top notch, but that's all I go for these days. Three stars for the beer, 0 stars for the food. Minus 1 star for the smokers who still hang out next to the door. Not that I care anymore because this is no longer a biweekly stop for me. -------- Extensive menu. Good food. Great specials. Friendly service. Five stars. Minus one star because of the ever present gaggle of smokers hovering at the entrance. Although there are signs asking smokers to go around the corner and not smoke near the entrance it is not enforced so when you enter or leave the building you are forced to walk through a cloud of smoke. I wanted to try out the new menu. I got the Soft Shell Francaise over risotto. It...was...delicious!!! One of the best meals I've had around the area in years. The menu looks updated and classier and the service is also better. Lighthouse just got kicked up to Shark Finn and Old Causeway standards-- nice job ! I am already planning on going back for more of that soft shell Francaise -- and $27 is high but worth it! read more

This place is so good! Everything on the menu is great and you have to get the Cajun fries! I love that they have beer flights and they always have a lot of really cool beers on tap. They have live music, it's a fun night out! read more

Was there with a few friends on a whim...inside is a typical pub....place looked clean, etc. We hadn't had dinner yet so decided to get some food. my Friend and I both ordered the Cobb Salad. It was really good and very fresh.. portion was huge and we both enjoyed it. HOWEVER... My Friend ordered hers with Ranch Dressing and I ordered mine with Bleu Cheese dressing. When we got the bill, I noticed there was a $1.00 charge for my dressing and thought "This must be a mistake" there was no charge for salad dressing on my friends salad... when I questioned the server...I was told, with an attitude..."we charge $1 for Bleu cheese dressing because we make it homemade - it says it on the menu" Ummmm.....huh?? NEVER... have I ever heard of such a thing in my life...it's freakin salad dressing! Salad dressing comes WITH salad. Next thing you know, they will charge you for ketchup on your burger as well. So, because of this..I won't be back..Which is a shame because...I'm a good tipper! So.. I Shaved $1 off of her tip...if you want to nickel and dime me, I can do the same. I will go somewhere else where the salad dressing is included with your SALAD! LOL!! insane! read more

We've been coming here for about a year. Never disappointed. Above-average food for what you'd expect, plus occasional specialties that surprise. Good choice of craft beer but needs better marketing (as in putting menu/list on tables to promote them). The lighthouse has gone way down since the owners son took over !The food is just ok but the prices are too high! The owner needs to cater more to locals then trying to be something they are not ! Disappointed. Came here for the Rueben which used to be great. The bread was soggy and the meat mediocre. PS fries were not crisp either.

I lived in the area for several years before I tried the Lighthouse Tavern, and mores the pity. this place is great. it is a neiborhood bar with a lot of locals in attendance, but it is also set up like a restaurant. and what a place to eat. they have a set menu, but daily specials as well. You might want to start with an appetizer but save room for dinner, because the food is impressive. I had a chicken parm dinner here, the chicken went over the edge of the plate. Good portions, you won't leave Hungry. Another great thing about this place is they have entertainment, and they post in advance on the road side sign board. The service here is horrible. My bartender, Chris, was very friendly but when I asked the blonde, young female bartender if we could order she was unbelievably rude, I mean downright nasty. I guess they can't find good help. I've been there on a Tuesday night when it's not crowded and you end up eating most of your meal without a drink refill (that's sitting at the bar). Ate there twice across a weeklong vacation. Everything we ate was awesome: pulled pork sliders, salads, ribs, chicken fingers, onion rings, sweet potato fries. My boyfriend's a beer fanatic and he had such a tough time deciding what to order because their selection was so good. We had awesome service and we didn't feel rushed at all. Well my husband,me and my friends go here every Friday night. We come from Bayville because we love the staff, food, bartenders & bands! Great atmosphere and great service! Chris & Mike the bartenders are very attentive and always smiling and friendly! Actually the entire staff is super friendly! The bands start earlier and not at 10 or 11 like most places so you can have a few drinks for happy hour, eat, and watch a couple sets of the band and still be home at a decent hour! Worst service ever. Our server brought our meals over and I guess clocked out because she was sitting at the bar slugging beers back as we were trying to find her!!! Not recommended. The food is the best part but is uneven ranging from very good to overcooked tough. If something is wrong that is outside of the waitstaff's control, the management/owner(s) get rude and aggressive. Big turnover in waitresses/ waitstaff who genuinely seem to try to be pleasant to customers. If an issue comes to play at this place (and it does) like; loud ear piercing bands that roll in early, or food that is off in some way, or any other creature comfort problem... keep it to yourself and lump it, as talking to those in charge will only make your dining experience far worse. read more
