    Crab and Artichoke Dip
    Matt N.

Cuisine on the Green, how do I rate thee? I visited this establishment over the Labor Day weekend while visiting family in the area and I have to admit that I toiled over how many stars to award this joint. While the food was pretty darn good, the service was a bit slow. It appeared to this Yelper that our server, Mike, wasn't being lazy or inattentive, rather he was just overly busy. Maybe the management should put more servers on the floor? I guess three stars will be awarded rather than the four I would give them had the service been spot-on. Upon arriving at "The Green" with our party of five, I decided to dine in the pub area as I was afraid that we might have been a bit under-dressed for the restaurant. We were quickly seated at a high-top table in the pub and were warmly greeted by our server, Mike. I quickly scanned the appetizer menu and ordered the crab with artichoke dip, as well as an order of the clams casino for the table to share. My step-father decided that he would order a cup of cream of mushroom soup to supplement his share of the appetizers. After chugging down some ice cold IPA beer, the apps arrived and I can report that the dip and clams were good, but not blow-your-socks-off fantastic. However, my step father RAVED about the mushroom soup! I decided to try a spoonful of the soup to determine for myself if it truly was good, or if rather his palate was a bit off. Let me tell you: HOLY HELL was that soup fantastic! It was far and away the best mushroom soup I have ever tasted and I let our server, as well as the manager, Gary, know it. I even joked with our server and the manager about what my chances of getting the recipe were... Speaking of the manager named Gary, I offered to purchase from the restaurant the beer glass that contained my girlfriends beer, but Gary wouldn't budge! It was a pretty neat glass that had the Philadelphia Eagles logo on it and it would have made a nice addition to the beer glass collection. It's too bad Gary didn't want to part with the glass because I was willing to go upwards of $10 to acquire it. For the main entree I ordered the Viking Village Scallops and was a bit under-impressed with the dish, especially when I sampled the Prime Rib that others in my party ordered. Damn it, why do I always order the wrong thing? - the prime rib was delish! The salad that accompanied my scallops was awesome, I loved the blue cheese dressing! Here is a helpful hint for ya, you can visit Viking Village on Long Beach Island and buy scallops right off the boat; they are twice the size as the ones served here. My girlfriend ordered the Ribs and Chicken meal and it was GIGANTIC! While the ribs were not as succulent as I would like, they weren't awful either. However, the hand cut fries that came with her dish were really good. I can't speak of the chicken, as my belly was starting to feel like it was about to explode from tasting everyone's entree's at this point so I skipped a sampling. However, she indicated that it was a tad dry and was thankful it was smothered in BBQ sauce. I will definitely be back to try my hand at different menu items when I am in town again, as well as to try to get Gary to part with one of those Eagles glasses.....

Reserved a table in the bar area for four of us on, what turned out to be, a very busy Saturday night. Food was prompt, hot and delicious. Had chips & hummus to share and it was enough for 4 people. No complaints about the Chicken Cuisine, flatbread or ribs. The steak filet was a little overdone but good nonetheless. Chicken, ribs and beef came with a side salad. Only "complaint" is only one choice for potato is fries, no baked potato and no veg. Waitress was very attentive and friendly. Considering how busy it was she kept our drinks topped up and made sure our plates were taken away. There was a singer in the bar area where we were seated which was a nice surprise. Very enjoyable night. I'd definitely suggest you go. Enjoy!

    Drunken clams....delish!

The menu looked pretty good, but I was only there for a quick stop in. So I only had an order of wings. The wings were very good. I would recommend them. I look forward to coming back to this place and trying a lot more stuff. The service was very pleasant. It is located in the same parking lot as a driving range and a miniature golf so it has a lot to offer overall if you're looking for something to do and then stopping in for something to eat or a drink. I will be trying this again for sure. Looking forward to making a new review with much more detail on the food

Check for yourself, a quick search on Gemini or Grok yields the same response "No, it is generally not legal for a NJ restaurant to charge a 3% fee on a debit card transaction, even if they label it as a "credit card" fee." When I questioned the manager about this, I was met with excuses rather than a resolution. Point is that management can help prevent this by adding the debit card fee everywhere the rule is posted. It is clear this practice is about padding the restaurant's bottom line rather than covering costs. While our server was wonderful and not at fault, the management's lack of transparency is unacceptable. I like Callaway's but don't like their management who take no responsibility in rectifying this simple problem.

Well, the "Irish Pub" you know from the Monopoly game is actually this real property, "The Irish Pub and Inn", here on St. James Place in Atlantic City. Also, the game's iconic red hotel design inspired the game's red hotels, making it a real-life landmark for Monopoly fans. During most of the year, this legendary, 24/7 pub is famous for its unique, memorabilia-filled atmosphere and historical ties to AC, the Monopoly game, prohibition, etc., attracting visitors who enjoy its authentic, home-style vibe. But during Christmas, its decorations are on a whole other level of amazingness. Photos will not permit you to understand just how fantastic the volume and scope of lights, ornaments and figurines abound all around the restaurant and bar areas. The owner starts decorating weeks before Christmas adding new items each day through Christmas. You can't miss catching the Christmas spirit here, while taking in some spirits! It is a cash only venue. Make sure to come prepared. But if not? They do have an ATM onsite to help pay for the classic fish and chips or / AND the St James Potatoes. Those fries are like a poutine for those who know. The service is no frills but provided with pride and a smile, always. You can never go wrong here for a quick, basic, and satisfying meal and drink at reasonable prices in good company.

But I felt it complimented the burger. The star of the meal? One of three beverage options you can only get there. It's a whisky based cocktail with raspberry. Refreshing and tasty. I can't recall the name at the moment, but this will definitely be the place I head to after my walks at the park from now on. Our waitress was very friendly and ended up leaving a pitcher of water once she saw we were parched. The salad bar wasn't huge, but there were some cold dishes along with salad fixings, which is part of the vintage charm. The bread (not complementary) was also a huge round loaf great for sharing. The decor's medieval vibe is very charming and it's nice looking around the room. The kitchen is open to the dining room with big brick ovens. I had the prime rib which was big and juicy (the baked potato was fine but the Yorkshire puff was bland and barely editable soaked in juice - may just be I don't like this food). The steak came with a giant onion ring which was delightful, and it was cooked perfectly tender. This place thrives in your meat and potato staples, so not a lot of side options except what's at the salad bar. For dessert, we had to try the peach melba delight, which was a giant goblet of vanilla ice cream, peaches in juice, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Deceptively simple but extremely tasty and great to share There's a large bar area and the bathrooms are nice. This place is great for larger groups that include older people. The food is good and the atmosphere did feel like it was from another time, but we had a good time, and it's nice to see a place like this still around.
