Crab and Artichoke Dip
Matt N.

Cuisine on the Green, how do I rate thee? I visited this establishment over the Labor Day weekend while visiting family in the area and I have to admit that I toiled over how many stars to award this joint. While the food was pretty darn good, the service was a bit slow. It appeared to this Yelper that our server, Mike, wasn't being lazy or inattentive, rather he was just overly busy. Maybe the management should put more servers on the floor? I guess three stars will be awarded rather than the four I would give them had the service been spot-on. Upon arriving at "The Green" with our party of five, I decided to dine in the pub area as I was afraid that we might have been a bit under-dressed for the restaurant. We were quickly seated at a high-top table in the pub and were warmly greeted by our server, Mike. I quickly scanned the appetizer menu and ordered the crab with artichoke dip, as well as an order of the clams casino for the table to share. My step-father decided that he would order a cup of cream of mushroom soup to supplement his share of the appetizers. After chugging down some ice cold IPA beer, the apps arrived and I can report that the dip and clams were good, but not blow-your-socks-off fantastic. However, my step father RAVED about the mushroom soup! I decided to try a spoonful of the soup to determine for myself if it truly was good, or if rather his palate was a bit off. Let me tell you: HOLY HELL was that soup fantastic! It was far and away the best mushroom soup I have ever tasted and I let our server, as well as the manager, Gary, know it. I even joked with our server and the manager about what my chances of getting the recipe were... Speaking of the manager named Gary, I offered to purchase from the restaurant the beer glass that contained my girlfriends beer, but Gary wouldn't budge! It was a pretty neat glass that had the Philadelphia Eagles logo on it and it would have made a nice addition to the beer glass collection. It's too bad Gary didn't want to part with the glass because I was willing to go upwards of $10 to acquire it. For the main entree I ordered the Viking Village Scallops and was a bit under-impressed with the dish, especially when I sampled the Prime Rib that others in my party ordered. Damn it, why do I always order the wrong thing? - the prime rib was delish! The salad that accompanied my scallops was awesome, I loved the blue cheese dressing! Here is a helpful hint for ya, you can visit Viking Village on Long Beach Island and buy scallops right off the boat; they are twice the size as the ones served here. My girlfriend ordered the Ribs and Chicken meal and it was GIGANTIC! While the ribs were not as succulent as I would like, they weren't awful either. However, the hand cut fries that came with her dish were really good. I can't speak of the chicken, as my belly was starting to feel like it was about to explode from tasting everyone's entree's at this point so I skipped a sampling. However, she indicated that it was a tad dry and was thankful it was smothered in BBQ sauce. I will definitely be back to try my hand at different menu items when I am in town again, as well as to try to get Gary to part with one of those Eagles glasses.....

Reserved a table in the bar area for four of us on, what turned out to be, a very busy Saturday night. Food was prompt, hot and delicious. Had chips & hummus to share and it was enough for 4 people. No complaints about the Chicken Cuisine, flatbread or ribs. The steak filet was a little overdone but good nonetheless. Chicken, ribs and beef came with a side salad. Only "complaint" is only one choice for potato is fries, no baked potato and no veg. Waitress was very attentive and friendly. Considering how busy it was she kept our drinks topped up and made sure our plates were taken away. There was a singer in the bar area where we were seated which was a nice surprise. Very enjoyable night. I'd definitely suggest you go. Enjoy!

Stay away!! Horrible cold food. Buffet (if you want to call it that) had 4 choices and one was salad. Terrible waste of money. Zero stars.

Our group of six enjoyed dinner on a Saturday night. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table. Not sure if they take reservations. Our server was very pleasant. Open faced corned beef sandwich, burger, sushi, turkey club and their special grilled cheese were the items we had and everyone was happy with their meal. Prices are very reasonable and they have different dinner and brunch specials available on different days. We look forward to going back to try the driving range or to play pool. Great for families or groups.

My partner started with the wings. He said they were crispy and delicious! He then got a bacon cheeseburger and fries. The fries were an up charge from potato chips which we thought was weird. He said the burger was very dry and only came with 2 small strips of bacon. He liked the fries. I had the Cobb salad which was one of the best Cobbs I ever had. It was loaded with chicken, blue cheese, eggs, olives, tomatoes and cheddar cheese. I almost finished it but couldn't. I forgot to take pics when we were served so I took them a bit late. Overall, a good meal and we will be returning. The place is overly decorated in my opinion but that's just me. PS: please do something about the potholes in your parking lot. I had to drive like it was an obstacle course!

So I thought to myself, how best to introduce you to a tried and true staple of an area in what is…read morenow called "The Orange Loop"? Well, the "Irish Pub" you know from the Monopoly game is actually this real property, "The Irish Pub and Inn", here on St. James Place in Atlantic City. Also, the game's iconic red hotel design inspired the game's red hotels, making it a real-life landmark for Monopoly fans. During most of the year, this legendary, 24/7 pub is famous for its unique, memorabilia-filled atmosphere and historical ties to AC, the Monopoly game, prohibition, etc., attracting visitors who enjoy its authentic, home-style vibe. But during Christmas, its decorations are on a whole other level of amazingness. Photos will not permit you to understand just how fantastic the volume and scope of lights, ornaments and figurines abound all around the restaurant and bar areas. The owner starts decorating weeks before Christmas adding new items each day through Christmas. You can't miss catching the Christmas spirit here, while taking in some spirits! It is a cash only venue. Make sure to come prepared. But if not? They do have an ATM onsite to help pay for the classic fish and chips or / AND the St James Potatoes. Those fries are like a poutine for those who know. The service is no frills but provided with pride and a smile, always. You can never go wrong here for a quick, basic, and satisfying meal and drink at reasonable prices in good company.

The bartenders make you feel welcome and at home right off the bat. The garlic cream cheese burger was different. The bun was delicious and tasted homemade, the lettuce and tomatoes were a good compliment. Their fries!!!! Skin on and just the right crisp to give. No ketchup needed. But I felt it complimented the burger. The star of the meal? One of three beverage options you can only get there. It's a whisky based cocktail with raspberry. Refreshing and tasty. I can't recall the name at the moment, but this will definitely be the place I head to after my walks at the park from now on. The four stars is simply because the burger was cooked to perfection for me but the garlic cheese topping was missing something I could not put my finger on. I will definitely try their other burgers. And my friend enjoyed the fish and chips. Which was my usually bar food of choice. Until The Next time LBT

I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.
