WARETOWN: Lighthouse Tavern restaurant has been a staple in town for over 40 years! There is an American menu with burgers, salads, and a variety of appetizers, along with a big beer list and full bar. YAPPY HOUR is every Sunday from 4-7pm on the outdoor patio! It was very popular with people and pups and we were thrilled to see the happiness all around. There are puppy pools to cool down and it's a nice night to chill out and have a good meal. Jim, the owner, came by to say hello and we let him know that we love yappy hour! The servers are great and accommodating, and happy to bring out a water bowl. Yappy Hour Rules: Dogs must be leashed. Please no retractable leashes, our furry friends can get tangled in those with their friends. Dogs must be spayed and neutered. Dogs must be up to date on their rabies shots. If for some reason your dog gets aggressive, you will be asked to leave. The rules are in place for everyone - humans and dogs - to have a great time.

When we came it was pretty busy and took a while before anyone greeted us at the entrance. Sign says to get someone's attention if you're not attended within 15 minutes. Even after 15 mins, it was hard to get someone's attention. Seats opened up at the bar so we just parked right there. Again, a while before someone took our drink order so we were prepared to have our full order at first convo. Food was good. Drinks were cold. After a while, we were able to build rapport with the bartender. Drinks came quicker then. Aside from that, at lighthouse tavern you can come in enjoy a nice cold beer and watch the game. Play some pool, shuffleboard, or trivia on certain nights. Live bands are also on there but not the night we came. Prices are reasonable and plenty of parking. I would still go again after this experience. It was a busy night.

Waretown is outstanding. Alpaca farm , dog park , and really good seafood and taverns. All minutes from Barnegat/ Manahawkin. Perfect Change of pace for a summer day in November in NJ. Chicken quesadilla , Calamari , Reuben, seared ahi tuna , and the biggest salad I've ever seen. All delicious all quality all priced right !! Staff was wonderful and attentive. Shuffle puck, pool and packaged goods. Local beers on tap and the place is spotless. 5 stars. Will be back !!!

The prices are too high for food that is terrible! Maybe a place to grab a drink but I wouldn't recommend eating here.

Cocktails are on the mark. Service is very attentive. Portions are large, food is typical tavern menu. Ive enjoyed the calamari, the burgers and especially the pork chops. Atmosphere is typical neighborhood vibe. Great place to watch a game. Decent beer and wine selection. Bar room is lively. If you want a more quiet experience, I would recommend the dining room. If going with a party of four or more I would definitely suggest a reservation.

Visited Lefty's Tavern and had a pretty good experience overall…read more The standout appetizer was definitely the fried calamari. It was perfectly crunchy, well seasoned, and had just the right amount of salt. Great appetizer! For my entree, I ordered the Salmon BLT, which was a Lefty's recommendation. Unfortunately, it fell a bit flat for me. Maybe the lefty recommendation symbol gave it too much hype and because of that I thought it would've impressed me more. Also my mother noticed that the salmon wasn't fully cooked in the center. I also tried the Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey was white meat, my dad really wanted dark meat and he said this could've been better but it was still good and enjoyable. What really elevated the experience was the service. The lady that attended to us was so attentive throughout the meal, checked in regularly, and made sure everything was taken care of. That made a big difference!

When the delivered food wasn't quite right, she quickly got a replacement. She is a wonderful server and has been there for years. Live band was really good today. Overall, we think the food (we've had fish tacos and cheesesteaks) is even better this year. Their french fries are to die for--you're crazy if you don't get them. Only downside is the greatly increased price of the lump crab, but I guess that's economic reality.

The waitress handled herself with such grace and kindness after the man continued to give her a hard time. Later, I listened as he requested for her to ask the manager to take off a percentage for him being he was a veteran. After she walked away, they started laughing and the one guy said, you're too much. It was clear that he wasn't being honest. He certainly wasn't a veteran and sadly the couple we were with has a son serving in the military. Unfortunately, this man took advantage of this opportunity and I was upset to see that someone would lie about serving our country. I did compliment the waitress for handling that table with dignity after being treated so poorly. She did say they honored a 10% off discount for him and it wasn't warranted because he lied. Kudos to your wait staff for dealing with rude customers and liars.

Well - we had to go see a music school engagement at the Waterfront today and decided to have a little lunch. First as a appetizer I order the Grandma Connie's Home made meatballs ($15.50) two meatballs, about 1/2 teaspoon of ricotta and some kind of marinara sauce that was more like tomato water than anything that resembled an Italian gravy - Horrible! Then wife said forget that and lets get sandwiches; ok - she got the Short Rib Grilled Cheese ($20.00), and I got the Bourbon Chicken Wrap ($17.50) - they were Both Horrible! Grand kids got the chicken fingers ($18.00) and they were a bit over cooked but tasty. Overall opinion = Food is way overpriced for the quality, flavors are blah to horrible and just no worth another trip. Too many good food places around, this one is huge pricy disappointment........
