I'll start this review by saying this place lacks customer service. I have kept a motorhome here for approximately seven years out of necessity. I recently discovered that the fence behind my rig was crashed into and heavily damaged by a vehicle. The metal fence and stone pillar is now leaning towards my rig. The storage facilities solution was to brace it with, with wood shoring. That in itself is a least preventing it from falling over. What I'm upset about is that i was not notified. When I questioned why no notification, the site attendant said my rig was not affected, so no notification was made. Lighthouse Storage managers, if you read this, please make corrections to your on site persons, who don't know what customer service is. read more

Thieves took my radio with camera screen and 2500.00 in goods from my 2021 rv at this place I pay 200.00 a month. Transients in Oceanside are a major issue, not homeless, but these crooks are a major issue. The property has camera's but BE AWARE, look elsewhere. read more

Avoid this place! Long term renter. Two different units I rented flooded multiple times when it rained. They did not let me know when it happened and had that "too bad, so sad" attitude. The last time was in December. manager Isaiah assured me district manager James would provide some type of compensation given the water damage and items lost. Have yet to hear back and I'm looking into the next steps. Dishonest, unethical and unprofessional. Comments about the rate increases are true! Rent almost doubled over a period of time. They also only give a 10 day notice. I've got everything documented and photographed should anyone need more details. Will edit this post with more details, time permitting. read more

She is a delight to be around, she has a personality, very pleasant in these days in time in this world. She is truly a breathe of fresh air. I have been a customer of lighthouse for over a year now. I have seen managers come and go at this facility. She is probably one of the top professionals I have dealt with since moving back to California in 2014. I am issuing a specific complaint in reference to an incident occurring on 3/23/2020 at the Oceanside location of Lighthouse self-storage. Due to an incident with employee or assistant manager (she identified herself as both) I pulled my business form this facility. When I notified the employee that her behavior was inappropriate and I would be reporting her to her corporate office she then offered an eviction in a bizarre circumstance I will describe in detail. I have been a tenant at Oceanside location of Lighthouse Self-Storage for about a year. I had a small unit of 5X10 and I needed additional space. During my time at the facility I have noticed the dramatic rate increases that other customers experience and complain of on yelp. Though this is not illegal, but it is the edge of a bait and switch practice. If you are thinking of renting here the price you pay during your first months will be dramatically increased and new customers will be offered a lower rate. That is not the basis of this negative review. Though it is not an honest business practice, you are not locked in and have the right to move. The customer service is another story. This place is awful. I have never seen any type of employee conduct like this. You are not treated as a customer, but as a target for fees and rude behavior. On 3/23/2020 I called corporate to find out the process for moving to a larger unit. I followed their instruction and paid for the unit online. At this time I had 2 units as I would be moving the smaller to the larger. I arrived at the gate and because of the virus outbreak our interaction was by phone. I was directed to the location of the locker and then the employee added that I would need the special lock that they sell there and not a standard. I had the special lock that is very difficult to work with their rollup door on the existing and I had a master lock I would be using for the new lock as I transferred. The employee told me I would need to buy a 2nd lock to transfer my locker. This did not make sense and I did not want to fight with a second lock as I transferred back and forth. When I told the employee this she became insulting and stated, "she did not see an issue because it was only ten dollars." I have several businesses and $10 is not the issue. I do not like being mistreated as a customer or being insulted. It takes about five minutes to secure the special lock to the roll up doors that are not designed to take them. The point of this was lost by the insulting employee. From there the situation went downhill. I told the employee I would report her and she became apologetic and directed me to the locker via phone. I began to unload and then she came out with another employee to confront me in a bizarre situation it is difficult to understand. She handed me a piece of paper of the lease with the special lock information highlighted and said she was evicting me for behavior. It was almost as if she was trying to show how powerful she was and how unimportant I was as a customer. It was very strange to say the least especially because I prepaid. When I asked about the refund she responded with you will get it. What does that mean? I am here the following day. I have not been issued a refund or an email stating such. I called to follow up and got the same girl with the same response. I would get a refund. I also received clarification that I was not evicted, but I would be at the end of the month so there would be no refund on the other locker I paid for. At this point I want nothing to do with this facility or their employees. My customer experience has been awful bait and switch is one thing. Being disrespected is another and if you are a customer of Lighthouse Self-Storage you will understand. read more

extremely disappointed with light house. I spent a long time on the phone with a man named Christian who I was told was the manager. I was promised a specific price for a unit and when it came time to pay the next day, I was told that the price he quoted was impossible and they would not rent the space to me for that price. I asked them to contact the original manager i spoke to and they told me no. I don't know if they were just trying the old bait and switch, or just bad communication. either way, bad business practice. read more

Thus is one of the best storage units I have seen and/or used. We got this unit a little over a year ago to store our family's household goods while I was on deployment. As of a few days ago, everyone was back in California and we were able to remove everything from storage. It was wonderful have a unit inside of a building with security cameras, motion sensitive lights, etc. But to top it off, their customer service skills go above and beyond all others. I have already recommended this place to one of my friends and will continue to do so. read more

They are constantly raising the rates. Every time I start to get settled in on what I am paying then another email telling me my rate will be going up another $10. The best part is the email says as a valued customer you will be paying less then new customers but when I checked rates online they are $20 less per month then my new rate. Will be ditching this place very soon. I believe they were bought out and since then this is my 3rd or 4th rent increase. Plus the bathroom door is always locked when I go in there. I don't mind paying a fair rate but quit raising the rates all the time. Figure out what you need to charge and charge it. I think they raise the rates just to try and get more because they think you need them more then they need you. There are a ton of places you can store though. So I would say pick somewhere else. read more
