I've had the storage unit about a year I think and I could honestly say the hours are good. The location is perfect. I haven't had any issues with the storage unit. They accommodate you and for whatever specific unit you wanna look into they also have an elevator and it's honestly very very good surgeon. I can't complain if you don't trust me it's OK but I've had a good experience with the storage unit and especially when it comes to unloading and loading my things and the hours are good and the days that are available for you to go and bring stuff in and take stuff out is good especially the hours read more

Great experience. I can't recall the 2 guys' names working behind the desk but they seem like great guys. They answer all questions and seem to care about you. We walked up and they showed me the different sizes of units before we chose, which really helped. I recommend going with the size up. You always seem to have more than what you think you have. The units themselves were climate controlled (kept cool). You need your own specific round lock. They have some available for $12-13. The have smaller push carts to use with the freight elevator. I didn't have any troubles with either. The freight elevator was smaller so getting a couch and a few other long items were challenging to get to the second floor. Make sure to bring your strong best friend to help. I wouldn't have been able to do it without mine and I'm grateful for that. read more

I will be moving my belongings out of this awful storage facility in May. They raise the rent every year and after 5 years my rent has doubled!!! $141 for a 5x10 space is insane. A friend of mine uses one of their competitors and hasn't had her rent raised in over 15 years!! I will be moving my belongings to one of their units for only $45 a month for the same size!!! It takes forever to clear out your storage unit here too because there are zero dumpsters on the premises. I will never rent from any A1 storage company again. read more

One of the managers explained the various storage options, then walked me through step-by-step how to use the security gate and freight elevators in a clear way that was easy to remember. Do not RENT HERE this place seemed to be a great choice . I didn't really notice either way .... Until it was time to place items from my deceased family member in my storage they hindered me from accessing my storage and told me if I want to access my stuff I will have to speak to them in person every time ..this guy was so uninformative and had a rude tone first thing in the morning ..he mentions I have violated some hours meaning we didn't get out til and hour after the place closed .. and that's enough of a reason to behave that way .. professionalism is becoming far and few!!! This guy should try to have respect and to communicate with clarity and a smile would speared help .. horrible experience !! read more

The bottom line is, when you rent a storage space, you expect your stuff to still be there when you return from seven months in Afghanistan. The other stuff - friendly service, clean space, etc. - is icing on the cake. When your stuff isn't there, then the other stuff doesn't matter. I returned to find a lock that wasn't the one I left on my storage unit. A-1 cut the lock, and when they opened the door to my rented unit, I saw that most of my stuff was missing. You might wonder - what thief (or thieves) would bother to steal your stuff, then bother to put a lock on your unit to make sure nobody steals the stuff they left behind? Well, my friends think it makes perfect sense - Leave a lock on the unit to avoid arousing suspicions. We also figured that this was an inside job - an employee who knows which rentals belong to people who will be gone for a while and for how long (especially easy to identify, when you offer military discounts ...). I had to file a police report, provide proof of ownership of my stolen property (i.e., find receipts for my bike, computer, etc), in order to try and get compensated via the insurance I purchased along with the storage rental, put a fraud alert on my credit reports, etc. It will be interesting if the police can tell me whether this is a frequent occurrence at A-1. The personnel at A-1 certainly didn't seem surprised - it was "oh, that sucks. Fill out this theft claim form." read more

Overall great experience. I needed to relocate for work and had to quickly transfer contents from my old unit (a different company) to a new one. I searched several companies online and was impressed by the ease of use of A-1 Self Storage's website. I was able to check their sizes, see what's available, and actually reserve a unit online! Sounds simple, but most of their competitors don't offer this option. I was also pleased with A-1's hours. The company I worked with previously shut their gates at 6:00 pm, which made it nearly impossible to visit the unit after work on a weekday. A-1 closes their gates at 8:00 pm, which gives me ample time to stop by after work. A tip for potential customers: be sure to measure the size of the unit before moving in. The storage unit business uses a mysterious method to calculate dimensions. For example, one would assume that either exact dimensions or dimensions rounded to the nearest foot would be disclosed. But a 13.5ft measurement may be advertised as 15ft. I found this logic to hold true with multiple companies. read more
