It's definitely not closed. Stopped by yesterday for lunch. First weekend open after a long close for re-modeling (and Covid). The remodel is terrific... much more open inside and vastly improved seating outside. Food was just as good as we remembered it. Service... was slow. Very slow. Let's chalk it up to teething pains after a long lay-off. Lunch was busy, but not capacity -- there were multiple empty tables and, it appeared, sufficient staff. We were victims of successive shift changes among the servers -- three different people dealt with taking our order and bringing drinks and then food. We were the proverbial "forgotten table" even though were were front and center outside, in plain view of the folks working inside. When done eating we gave up waiting for the bill and went inside to get and pay the check. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. If you go, be patient. Order a drink. Enjoy sitting outside in SP. The food is good and atmosphere fun... we'll be back and hope they've worked out the kinks... read more

Pretty weak breakfast. Paid $17.00 for eggs benedict and a side of potatoes. Besides slow service, the poached eggs were small and the yolks were coooked hard and dry on a rather small piece of canadian bacon and cold english muffin. Won't be going back. read more

Food was tasty. I had dinner- the chicken fajitas. Also, they had live entertainment which I thought was real nice!! I also caught a dodger game on the tube. This is a Clean, casual atmosphere with good service and easy parking. I recommend this local beach cafe and sports bar. We also visit this place for breakfast after a bike ride and it's always good, healthy, clean eats. read more

My wife and I stopped in the lighthouse cafe for a quick bite. We're staying at a local hotel and our room wasn't ready yet. The food and service was excellent. Went here for breakfast last Saturday morning, and the food was absolutely amazing. The waitress was so nice in letting us know when we should be getting our food served. They have an amazing staff who looks out for everyone. Perfect, place to bring your dogs, big or small. There's a small parking lot behind the cafe, but if you come late, you'll have to find street parking. A plus is that you won't have to pay for parking, so you can leave your car peacefully. Just make sure that you don't park in the red zones, then you'll be towed. read more

Here's are the pros: Beautifully remodeled color choices give you the beach vibe for the area. And plenty of seating (however...indoor seating on the booth side is very cramped and difficult to maneuver between tables on a busy day. Less is more in my opinion. Cons The food is about a C-B grade it's good but not great, basic breakfast is the way to go or ur basic burger is good. We have been back several times to try different dishes, and most were disappointing, fish tacos, nachos, buffalo dip, and i'm putting the country skillet in here only because the veggies were not cut properly- i know it sounds picky but there shouldn't be giant chunks of bell peppers and onions, they should be diced. Service wait time is excessive busy or not. I personally witnessed a elderly couple walk out, the owner came over wiped the table for them and then just left. They waited about 15 min and left. i saw them try and get the attention of the owner to no avail. Being a new owner, that's always there, she should make it a point to talk to every table (not just the people she knows) introduce herself , and be the face of Lighthouse Cafe. She doesn't need to be filling syrup containers while people are walking out! Get to know ur clientele, which for the most part are locals. My husband has been a server for 37 years at the Marriott and has been trained by the best. It's all about your experience even if the food isn't that great if u have a great experience people will return. Also, we were looking forward to having someplace we could walk to and have a beer, watch a game and eat a burger however they are closed now at 3pm No "dinner menu" per-say it's their lunch menu - but i guess it doesn't matter since they are now closed for dinner. Here are my suggestions for whatever it's worth, get a fan installed to keep the flys away (it's a real issue) ur competitors next door don't have that problem. Hire a greeter to welcome people, get them started on drinks make sure they have utensils etc. Remove some of those tables so people can actually sit comfortably without having to squeeze in. Have a daily special for breakfast lunch and dinner (when u open up again for dinner) Lastly, I hope that they are successful, i really want them to be. The death of a beloved town favorite. This restaurant was recently bought by a new owner and it seems all they did was renovate the inside... they kept a few original menu items but removed beloved classics. We went for breakfast and the restaurant was FILLED with flies. My omelette was smothered in coagulated cheese and tasted more like a day old scramble than the former restaurants amazing meals. The servers are kind but hover and constantly interrupt your meal to ask if you want more coffee every 2 minutes. Had to shoe flies away while eating so they wouldn't land on our food. So sad and disappointing to see what a local favorite has become :( read more

Amazing location and great food! Our waitress was the nicest person on Earth, and the food came out very quickly. They have a lot of unique ideas, such as a glass bottle of water for the table so you can pour it yourself, and breakfast "skillets," which is what I got. They are incredibly filling, and I highly recommend those! The fish tacos are also excellent. The interior is clean and updated, and gives off a great beach vibe. 10/10, would definitely come again! read more

Brand new re-open! It's gorgeous inside! The owner Cindy is warm and friendly. It's super beachy inside now and the food is great! Beer and wine served. Big glass roll up door is open to feel the ocean breeze! I love this place now! You gotta try it!! read more

Went here for lunch before visiting the nearby lighthouse. Servers were super friendly. I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich which was nice and crispy. Sauce was very flavourful. My baby has chicken strips. They were just average. My husband had the club, he really enjoyed it. Overall would go back if I was in the area. read more

We were interested in seeing how the re-model of the old Lighthouse Café went and we were not disappointed. Light, airy, beach theme, but most of all...clean! I'm glad the new owners kept many of the famous sandwiches from the old menu - the Sunken City, the Abalone Cove and the San Pedro melt. The portions were large and the sides were expansive. The menu is pretty much salads, burgers, sandwiches and a few Mexican entrees right now, but that's fine for a quick bite to eat at a reasonable price point. The service was attentive, observant without being overbearing. We had quit frequenting the old, tired rendition of the Lighthouse Café, but we'll be back to the new, re-vitalized café...and we'll be pleased to bring our friends. Great job overall! read more

This quaint little cafe just reopened after a remodel, with new ownership. My wife and I use to go there prior to remodel. What a terrific job on the place. Twice now we were seated, but from then on we couldn't get the server's attention. The first time, we suffered through. It took over an hour from the time they seated us to the time we were served our food. Today, they sat us, served the table next to us twice, and in spite of me asking for the server, she never came. Everything was super Great however the hash browns were heavily undercooked so I left it on plate. If they had rushed them asking for new ones would yield same results if all my food was already warm. Overall the food was great but definitely needs to set better standards for what is okay to serve customers. They literally just gave me shredded potatoes, not even lightly browned as hash browns. read more

WOW! We have live in San Pedro for 9 years and never been here. Why? Who knows! What I do know is this is our new favorite place. The food is amazing! First time I have been back since they reopened. Nice decor with open feeling. Even a cute little mural of San Pedro on the wall. No wait at 11 am on weekday. Had a great breakfast, with huge portions that even this hungry man had trouble finishing. I had the Denver omelet with potatoes and biscuit. All were very tasty. Went here for breakfast. Nice place. It was closed during COVID and changed ownership. Complete remodel and made it a real coastal vibe. Food was all good. 5 stars for ambiance, 3 1/2 for breakfast. Most of my issue was with the cook. My over-medium ordered eggs were over-hard. Also, the menu listed country gravy on the Country Skillet, but I had to ask for some after I got my breakfast without it. My husbands breakfast was good. Service was just okay. Checked this place out since the reviews were good. It's a cute place with nice seating. Plenty of menu options and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Husband got the nachos with carne asada and he liked them. I got the California Burger and all of the ingredients made the burger delicious (get a side of the chipotle mayo). Parking can be an issue since it's next to the Pacific Diner. You will not be disappointed. Bonus, they have alchohol beverages and give military/first responders discount. read more

We used to love this place! We returned to it after the COVID epidemic to find the atmosphere completely renovated. The menu was similar without the long seasonal specials list and several of our favorite dishes. The food had tripled in price, was under seasoned and under cooked. The waitress forgot my husband's meal and it took her 40 minutes to correct the mistake. In short, this is not the same Lighthouse Cafe. I don't recommend it and won't be returning! read more

Your typical diner as far as food, not mind blowing but also not terrible. But more importantly the amount of flys this place has is disgusting. I went twice to give it the benefit of the doubt because the first time was a very hot day thinking that could be the cause. The second time just as bad if not worse. In fact, your table has portable fans in order to prevent them from landing on your food. Will not be returning. Place has potential but clean it up! Also might want to reconsider the location of your chalkboard mixed with the fans for flys causing dust/chalk to get all over the tables and chairs next to it. read more

I was very excited to revisit one of my favorite spots after being closed for so long... the remodel looks wonderful! sadly, we were very disappointed: both in the food and the service. my friend and I came in to get food to-go and it took an incredibly long time to get acknowledged. A man, who looked like maybe an owner or manager, just looked at us after sitting at the bar for 5 min ,and walked in another direction. After some time, we finally placed our order, we sat at an outdoor table and waited for over 40 minutes. We went inside to find out what the hold up was (the restaurant was not even at capacity), and our food was just sitting on the line, and not even packaged to-go. Had to wait even longer for someone to put them in boxes, and when we got home so many things were missing. Hoping this is just a reopening hiccup and would like to give them another try... maybe in a couple months when they have time to work out their kinks and maybe hire some more seasoned servers. read more
